  1. Hey guys (sorry for hijacking) but I'm thinking of purchasing a set of R34 GTR N1 sideskirts and rear pods from Bodyform Aero and was wondering how people rate their quality and service? Cheers, Ed
  2. I was only considering two types, Splitfire or JJR. And I was told by JJR last week that Splitfire offer NO backup warranty in comparison to the 12 month warranty backup that JJR provide on their JJR coilpacks. Seems odd and not inline to what you've posted above...? I've asked them to re-clarify.
  3. Cos there's no guarantee that Splitfires won't stuff up either, and I've been told that the JJR's come with a 12 month replacement warranty (unlike the Splitfires). Overall in reading most of the 'coilpack' threads on this forum, it's down to chance that you get a faulty set or if/when the coilpacks are faulty. There's good and bad experiences from all camps. Then there's price difference ($200+ nowadays given the $AUS) and availabilty yadda yadda...
  4. I've ordered a set of the JJR's and expect to receive them and install them on Monday/Tuesday. Hope they work well. It's a hassle waiting for stuff to come from Sydney to Perth, let alone have to do it over again if any need to be replaced under warranty... argh, paranoid.
  5. Steve, do the Splitfires have warranty too? I'm confused cos Darron said they don't, and that's why I've ordered a set of your JJR items for my 34GTR.
  6. Yeah, nah it wasn't a 'retail' worker at Nissan. The guy is actually pretty good and he's in the service department, knows alot about import GTR's R32 to R34. Several have referred to him for advice from Nissan here in WA. He just said that Nissan Matic D (which is actually used in the transfer case and Atessa system) is just Castrol Transmax Z rebranded. And as I've had no luck in getting Transmax Z (as I've been advised that it has been discontinued) I wanted to find an alternative. The Toyota v160 oil is also discontinued, but Nissan can get the factory gearbox oil used in Getrag's from Japan at $120 per Litre. No thanks, that's just way too expensive! I've gone with either Motul or Redline (ATF fluid) for my Getrag through workshops that have used it on other customer's Getrag's with no problems so far.
  7. I think that's pretty normal Huy. I don't really recognise it on mine, but my box is generally quieter when its warmed up and it also makes the rattling sound when turning the car off, just like all other Getrag owners. Best to get your fluids checked though as I just changed mine. My Nismo twin plate is not as noisy as I'd thought, which is a good thing. Yes, catchup soon dude, just busy as with work and stuff...
  8. Both the v160 and Transmax Z ATF's have been discontinued apparently?
  9. Hey guys, is the view on this subject still the same? The bulk of this thread is from 2006, so what are people using in their R34 GTR Getrag 6spd boxes these days? - Nissan Matic D - Redline Super Lightweight Shockproof - Motul Gear FF LSD - Castrol Transmax Z - Other? Cheers, Ed
  10. Hey guys, I know this has been covered to death but I've been advised by Nissan to use their Nissan Matic D ATF for my Getrag 6spd in my R34GTR. Apparently it is the same as Castrol Transmax Z. ???
  11. Thanks guys, I'll try nengun and jap auctions... JSAI, a bit hard to get a hold of? Try 'no reply'!
  12. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm looking to purchase a set of these and since trader JS Auto seem to have shut shop??? I'm unsure who else stock/supply these? Cheers, Ed
  13. You sprayed over the LED tips? Did this also diminish the amount of light emitted from them?
  14. I just bought a 640ps rated Nismo Super Coppermix twin plate clutch kit (comes with lightweight balanced flywheel) from Just Jap in NSW. Speak to Darron (Manager). Usually receive items 3-4 working days after confirmation of payment.
  15. I've just ordered myself one of these, but the 640ps model... can't wait!
  16. Hi folks, back in the 'Datto' camp after a 2+ year absence...
  17. Hi guys, I'm about to fork out and upgrade my clutch. I'm leaning towards the Nismo Super Coppermix twin plate kit (640ps), however I've been advised by some that there have been reliabilty issues in them slipping at lower power levels? Can anyone comment? Also, Sliding Performance stock these: ORC Single Plate clutch kit ORC 409D-01N (400ps) (Includes flywheel), $1489 , which are a single plate option (assuming also for GTR application) including light weight flywheel and are half the cost of a twin plate kit. Has anybody had experience with these ORC single plate kits (or any other) single plate clutch kits on an R34 GTR? Pro's and con's? I'll be running approx. 360hp @ the wheels. Cheers, Ed
  18. Slightly off topic but does anyone know how to even out the bright vs dull spots on the dash? I too have recently fitted white multi-angle LED's (from 666DAN) to my R34GTR.
  19. Hi guys, I've just installed a multi-angle LED kit to my R34 GTR dash. It lights up better but there are definitiely some hot spots, even with the multi-angle LED's. Can anyone suggest any solutions to evening out the bright/dark spots of the poorly designed Nissan dash? Cheers, Ed
  20. Bump, still looking guys - open to buying second hand too. Thanks Ed
  21. Cheers, you were right. All good, LED's installed and working. Thanks.
  22. Hey guys, I can only seem to find specific R34 GTT dash cluster removal threads and other R32 and R33 etc. but not specifically R34 GTR. I have an 02 VSpec II Nur and want to know how to take out the dash cluster (without stuffing anything up) as I'm upgrading my dash lights to LED's which I bought off Dan @ Zero Point. Can someone who has done this kindly advise or point me in the right direction? Cheers, Ed
  23. Hey guys, just a question out of curiosity as I begin stage 1 mods, but what are most of you running, 80mm or 90mm exhausts on your GTR's? I have an R34 GTR Nur with the N1 engine etc. Does the extra size really make that much difference in power? Cheers, Ed
