David, thanks mate I appreciate your comments and feedback... I'll give it some thoought.

Any info and recommendations appreciated, especially as JS Auto seem to have had alot of negative feedback of late - I'm located in Perth so we have limited parts available here locally... Thanks in advance. Ed

Thanks for the referral guys, I've spoken to Steve at Northside Nissan. All sorted next week hopefully, he's a champion!

Hi guys, I have a spare original Nissan key for my GTR but I'm told it must be encoded to the immobiliser to work. I have heard rumours that Nissan (locally) cannot or won't encode the key as the vehicle is an import. Does anyone have any experience with this? ANy info/advice would be appreciated. Otherwise, I'm assuming you have to simply reinstall a completely new alarm/immob system...

Great rims, will look mad on your black car. However I'd imagine that the offset would be out a bit, especially more so on the fronts as GTST's run staggered fitments unlike the 34GTR rims...?

Was wondering when this thread would start... -
Hi guys, does anyone have an R33 GTR dash surround for sale? I'm looking for the 'carbon fiber' surround as an upgrade to my GTST dash. Cheers. Please PM or SMS 0403 754 565 -Ed-

Speak to Paul at Autoworx - Wangara PERTH http://www.autoworx.com.au/bodykits.htm Good prices, fitted and paint matched - not genuine kits rather copies but they certainly do the job for a low cost.

Bought this series 2 R33 manual stock standard about a year ago. Great car, something a little different to the usual R33 coupe's that are so popular these days. With almost 300rwhp, it's bags of fun!

96 series 2 R33 4-door 5spd manual *fully stock* It's not usually that 'dumped'...
-
Pulp, so its your car in the photos on the website? I'll post up some pics once Paul has fitted the kit. (nice to know fellow S2 33 4 doorer's) Is anyone elses 5spd manual? -Ed-

HiaTuS, I have a white R33 S2 4-door just like you and am getting a lip kit fitted in the next week or so. It is similar to the standard kit that Nissan issue with their R33's, however this one is slightly fatter as its a copy taken from moulds. I've been told its a Nismo kit as its slightly different to the factory Nissan ones. I'll try to post pics once its fitted but you can speak to Paul at Autoworx or visit www.autoworx.com.au to view the items. It's a cheaper alternative than forking out on an entire kit as these are just an add on. The kit consists of: - Front T-chin lip spoiler - Nismo style sideskirts - Factory Nissan style rear pods And as far as I know, series 1 and series 2 kits are the same for 4 door. ALthough the only difference being the front headlight design in relation to the front bar fitting on flush... -Ed-

Does anyone have a pair of knock sensors lying around of no use to them? Either R32 or R33 will be fine as they're all the same. Please PM me! Thanks. -Ed-
-
Will be at the meet point only. I've been meaning to check out the club for a while now and meet other 4 door owners... Ed

Hey mate, 1.2bar so 17psi. That was on a 4wd roller dyno (non-shootout) shootout is 289rwhp. Apparently this is a little low as others in WA have got closer to 300rwhp with the same setup. Still, it's enough power for the road in my opinion. fpreg = fuel pressure regulator

Make sure you get the correct offset! Too many people only look at rimdiameter... you don't want to realise you're 18's sit WAY in and end up hating your purchase a month down the track! ...my two cents...

Has a date been confirmed for Auto Salon 2006 as yet?

Aha found my post (it got moved)... Robo's - you've given me some assurance that my car isn't just gonna fall apart on me. I use it a sa daily driver with the occassional weekend flogging etc. (as you do). I too haven't heard any audible pinging when it claims to have knocked. And also, it's not constant knocking, more so a spike to 40 or 60 for a split second as recorded on the graph mode. As with the startup, apprently it doesn't matter - although still odd. Oh, and in Perth we don't have Optimax, only Ultimae 98 from BP. I'm always running Ultiomate and Octane Boost just to be safe but the knocking is still intermittent wihtou any apparent pattern. Sydneykid - good to know these extra things. Sometime I think having a knock meter is more trouble than its worth. Especially when you've forked out for a couple of re-tunes on the dyno only to find out that everything is running perfect. Cheers fellas - good info!
-
Hey guys, Has anyone experienced this; I have a tuned RB25DET with all the usual bolt-on support to sustain a high-flowed R33 turbo with steel wheels at 18psi. After several tunes and re-tunes on the dyno using a Power FC with Z32 AFM, the knock meter on the FC Commander intermittently spikes to 40 - 60 knocks, and on a few occassions 110 when driving spiritedly on the road - however on the dyno the AF ratio and state of tune is next to perfect. My understanding is that anything above 40 knocks is somewhat audible pinging so you should use this threshold as a measure to know when the mixtures are too lean. However, having said this the knocks do not follow a pattern as the knock meter shows knocking at start up, on the odd downchange through the gears, and intermittently when fully giving it shit on full boost and hi rpm. Octane Boost doesn't seem to have a constant effect in curing the knocks so I'm beginning to beleive that my knock sensors are playing up and on the way out. Can anyone with an R33 or any other Skyline relate to this?
-
Sorry to hijack, but does anyone know any good carbon fibre repairers in Perth?
-
I've just swapped from playing GT4. The graphics are poor compared to it and I thought Underground 2 looked better... Never the less, still good fun and enjoyable, even without any Skyline's...

Does it make the steering feel harder like when the hicas fuse is pulled out?

I've never heard or seen Vortex 98, only Vortex which I'm pretty sure is only 96. Which locations stock Vortex 98?
