  1. I may be slightly biased seeing as I own a GT-T Sedan, but I say definitely go that way I bought mine completely stock, and got next to no attention from the police in it, and with standard exhaust and panel filter there were no give-aways that it was even turbo, but it still had the zip.
  2. Well you can count me in, whatever day it is, just have to remember about it

    Hey Guys

I think I've seen your car once or twice I've got the white R34 sedan, and I'm almost always out Friday nights, and always happy to have a chat, so be sure to say hi if you see me, and I'll do likewise
  4. Ah fair enough then, if you can't do it on a S2 R33, you prolly can't on the 34 I guess. The 34 is tiptronic too, so it'd be an entirely different gearbox computer too.
  5. That does sound disappointing, both in power and experience, I've got a 34 with slightly less mods which will be getting tuned soon, and that doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. One really curious point is the Power FC, mine's also the automatic, and I've always been told that the Power FC is an absolute impossibility with an auto box, which is the reason why I now have an SAFC instead of the PFC. Can I ask who installed it for you? If I can put a PFC without a manual conversion then its certainly news to me. Hope you manage to get everything sorted with your tune tho
  6. Sorry to hijack, but I see you took your cam gear cover off, I've thought about taking mine off, but was under the impression that the sensor on the passanger side gear was something important that I shouldn't touch, and would need to be re-aligned properly. Could you clarify if perhaps this is easier to do then I assumed?
  7. Yeah, Apexi say grounding it to the chassis is a huge no-no, I think Eug must be right and the 2nd cable is my turbo timer (its about the only thing in the car I haven't done myself, and as such I'd forgotten about it). So we grounded it to the other one, the black one that goes with the rest of the loom, and its perfect, how simple
  8. Hey guys, currently in the process of putting an SAFC II into my R34 GT-T Skyline, but have run into a bit of a snag. I've found the ground wire (plain black), except a short way out of the ECU it splits, one piece of wire goes along with all the other cables coming out of the ECU (black with white dots) while the other goes up into the dash (black with brown dots) along with another unidentified cable coming from the ECU (white with brown dots). Doesn't really seem to be enough room to attach both ground wires needed by the SAFC in the short space before the cable splits, so I'm curious if anyone can identify the purposes of the two cables it splits into, and tell me which one to splice my SAFC into? Did a search too, but most of the info is for R32/33 and doesn't mention anything about the ground wire splitting. Also should note, the car was (to best of my knowledge) 100% stock when I purchased it, so I really doubt that this is some aftermarket gizmo someone's wired into it... Many thanks!
  9. Hey, just moved down to Hobart myself, so I'd love to get out there and meet some of the other 'line drivers down here, have already seen a surprising amount out and about on the roads The ride down on the Spirit is excellent, I really didn't expect it to be as nice as it was, like a mini cruise ship, spent most of the night on the drinks, and some on the pokies too, regretted it when I was trying to sleep with the rocking boat and my sloshing stomach Drive from Devonport down to Hobart was pretty easy going, road's good, speed limits 110 like the whole way, and while its usually single lane, there's still plenty of over taking lanes. Anyway, I'll keep an eye here, as I would like to meet a few more skyliners down here
  10. Yeah, I work near that intersection, and see it all the time, somehow the missing bar and dying kit just suit it
  11. You're always welcome to use mine mate, so long as you put it back on after ^_^ You've got my number, lemme know if you need it.
  12. The front and sides look awesome, I love the wide rear flares, but the rear end is just plain ugly.
  13. Saw a white R33 with SAU sticker on Lutwyche road... er, monday night I think, didn't catch the plates though.
  14. Saw SMR33 on Old Cleveland Rd this arvo, didn't think much of it till I saw the SAU sticker and thought to get the plates Also scored a run around the block with MRR34 last night, in amongst my drunken adventures.
  15. I've seen that one before, can't remember where though. I go along Broadwater Rd twice most days tho to and from work, so quite possibly there
  16. Ahhhh of course! I was wondering who you were Trying desperately to think who I knew who owned a silvia I did wave back btw Also spotted SLO34 heading down the coast, er, that same day I think it was actually. Very tidy and fast looking 34.
  17. The cut seems to kick in just past the end of the 180k speedo, so depending on how accurate it is up there, like 180-190.
  18. Ive had mine about 10 months now, in that time the list of dramas has been as such; - Shorts killing tail lights (3 of them, before the dealer finally fixed the short) - Leaking master brake cylinder - Leaking shocks - Siezed turbo Apart from that she's been great, and I do push her pretty hard on occasion, so the more serious of above repairs isn't too surprising I guess. Most of my friends who I take for a ride comment on how much like a brand new car it is, despite 8yrs old now, so as mentioned above, stick to regular service intervals, and you should be pretty right.
  19. Its pretty decent, alot better then a straight auto, mostly because you can hold it in gear when you want to. The gearings are a little bit off though, 1st is useless for anything other then standing starts, and seeing as the 180km speed cut comes in before 3rd gear's redline, 4th is pretty pointless, so you find yourself using 2nd gear most of the time anyway. This coming from someone who's made the most of his tiptronic R34
  20. Yeah, I was like, hey thats a smick looking GTR, oh hey the dudes waving at me! *Waves back!* Hang on, wasn't that Dan?! Also saw a R32 outside work the other day (Computer Alliance @ Mt Gravatt), GTR, light blue, no wing, carbon bonnet, real nice example, anyone know if it belongs to someone on here?
  21. Hey lads, finally got my R34 back from the mechanic today, with the turbo highflowed, but now when I get to full boost, the stock gauge reads nearly 1bar rather then the ~9psi or so that its supposed to do stock. I've had a chat to the guys at the workshop, who say that it was only doing the 9psi that it was supposed to by their readings on the dyno, so is this just going to be a problem with the gauge? Or perhaps the way the sensor is mounted with the altered turbo? Cheers!
  22. My skyline is my daily driver too, never get any hassle from the cops, helps that its stock as can be, no kits or wings etc, even out cruising I rarely get a 2nd look from them.
  23. Holy hell dude! Thats pretty damn nasty, glad you're ok. Time to start shopping around for an R34
  24. Didn't notice any smoke, if there was any it was minor. Once I got it home, I did pop the bonnet and rev it some, I could hear what sounded distinctly like some sort of air leak coming from under the engine. All the pipes I could see seemed to be in fine condition, but from the look of it alot of the valves and seals are underneath. So replacing a hose or valve, that sounds pretty cheap, even on an import, right?
