  1. remembered an old article on the whiteline site from HPI magazine, re "project r34". (go www.whiteline.com.au then "your car", "nissan", "project r34") going on what this article says: Shocks - no Springs - no Swaybars - yes Strut braces - ??? Castor rods - ??? R34s do indeed have hicas but again i have no idea if the rack is identical to the 33 or upgraded. PS if anyone has any more from that series of "project r34" articles let me know!!! i'm about to drop some $$$ on alignment things for my car... they list parts for the r33 but nothing for the r34.
  2. hey n15m0 i like the sounds of that - who did that for ya?
  3. Have an R34 GT-t which has had its headlights converted to standard halogen units on import (H1 12V 55W low-beam bulbs). It has a sticker saying "do not convert back to gas discharge" and the correct bulb type engraved into the plastic housings. I've had the car for a couple of months now and have gone through 5 low-beam bulbs. Both sides are intermittently blowing, seemingly randomly. One night I'll pull up and notice one side is out (parkers and high-beams still working). The car is pretty standard, and electronically it's had an alarm system fitted but is otherwise stock - no extra spotties, computers or massive sub amps etc. The seals seem ok on my headlights and no moisture seems to be getting in... The suspension is pretty rough (coilovers) but I'm not driving it that hard on the road. Any ideas, anyone? Apart from throwing my wallet in the general direction of an auto electrician??? (and yes I've searched the forums prior to posting...)
  4. yeah, still too hard for road use IMO. smooth roads it's nice but a maybe little too much body roll, but hit some bumps and you just sorta jiggle and bob around not knowing if you're gonna understeer off the road or suddenly get some tail-out. basically on your average crappy brisbane road (lots and lots of bumps) it just isn't developing the grip and doesn't give me confidence to push it 100%... gonna have to save my $$$ and get it sorted properly, will feedback once i do.
  5. A nice long 3mm hex allen key worked fine... thanks
  6. thanks, will try it once i can actually find an allen key long enough!
  7. Hey everyone, was wondering if someone could help me. I'm a fairly recent R34 GT-T owner and it came with (amongst other things) HKS Hyper-D adjustable coilover suspension. This is one of the older models mainly for drift or drag I believe??? Of course it's absolutely rock hard for our roads but I noticed two knobs sticking out through the rear parcel shelf and sure enough they have 12 clicks to them when turned, with quite a noticeable increase in comfort on maximum soft (both set to maximum hard off the boat of course). Still probably too hard for optimal road use but they'll have to do for now. Problem is - I still suspect that the fronts are also set quite hard and would like to adjust them too. *Understeer bad....* I managed to pull one of the knob-key adjuster things out of the rear parcel shelf but on sticking in the hole in the top of the front coilover and turning it doesn't seem to do much.... So, question - how do I adjust the damping rate on the fronts? Am I on the right track? I don't want to mess with the height for now, just the rate. Some photos attached, anyone who can help? Cheers!
