  1. Ok its all back together, but when I checked the computer the TPS and Knock Sensor come up as an error but the TPS is new. Does this mean that the wiring is stuffed or is it a computer problem?
  2. Cheers GeeTR Yeah i understand what you mean, will have a good look at them tonight.
  3. Last night I played with the butterflies and found that I had installed the butterflies in the wrong order and now they shut properly. As I already have the plenum off is there anything else that I should look for before I put it back on?
  4. I brought my TPS from Nissan ($130), but I know you can also get one from Coventries. I am from Perth by the way.
  5. Another update, I took off the intake plenum and the butterflies have a very slight gap on the top and bottom, does anyone know how to get the butterflies to close properly? do i just pull them out and try to find the throttle body that they fit into correctly?
  6. ok will try the wd-40 idea tonight and see what happens I have new seals on both the intake and exhaust side, can i use the above method to check for leaks?
  7. I understand that the butterflies would cause higher then normal idle, but what would cause rough/miss firing sorta idle?
  8. Ok update, I brought a new TPS and installed it, the car idles abit better but still high and rough. Checked the computer and now says TPS and knock sensor error. Whats a stepper motor? is that the distributor? When i put the butterflies back in they didnt seems to sit properly. and yeah there was light coming through. Are you serious about not cleaning the butterflies?
  9. Does any one have a picture or a diagram of the vacuum lines casue I am not sure if what I have done is correct. I do have one from the manual but that isnt comprehension enough. Crack, how did you find that?
  10. I understand that i should replace it, but would it cause the above problems?
  11. Hi All This abit of a long story, sorry. Ok this is the history behind the problem. I decided that it would be a good idea to pull out the engine so I can replace the clutch and in the mean time I replaced the oil pump (N1 item), water pump (standard) and timing belt (standard). I also replaced all the seals on the intake and exhaust side of the engine. Injectors where ultrasonically cleaned. I have put on aftermarket dumps and front pipe. I also cleaned out the idle control unit (pulled it apart and cleaned), throttle bodies (I pulled out the butterflies to clean them), intercooler and piping including bypass valves, painted and cleaned the intake plenum. I have not touched the computer or the tuning. So when I put the engine back in the car started to idle high (around 1200) and rough (sounds like it is back firing). So I searched thought the forum and searched everything from rough idle to how to adjust idle, I have tired the following to no avail: - Cleaning AFM’s - Replaced spark plugs (to iridium tip NGK ones) - Checked timing belt marking so they match up twice - Did a computer diagnosis check which came up with a faulty TPS. - Have done idle adjust procedure according to manual and FAQ guide - Screwed the idle screw in completely. - Checked vacuum lines (but I don’t have proper vacuum line diagram so I don’t know if they are connected in the right way) - Pulled apart TPS and checked it too but it seemed fine. I think that’s it. I am trying to avoid pulling off the plenum. So if anyone has any ideas, I am all ears. I am getting sick of the car not running. I may have missed some details so I wrote this at work and I keep getting interrupted.

  13. Is this group buy just for R33 GTST's?
  14. Thanks Turbz_13 Do you know if they are a straight bolt-on for the R32? Cheers
  15. Good point Adriane never thought of that one Also does any know of any horsepower figures when it come to the R34 turbos as I have been told 350hp does that sound right? and another thing are all r34 gtr turbos ball bearing? cheers
  16. I have had a read of the thread and i still have a couple of questions, which is are R34 gtr turbos steel or ceramic and how can you check if they are? Serial numbers? The reason I ask is because someone is selling them and has told me that they have a steel exhaust wheel. Also is there a point in buying r34 stock gtr turbos to replace stock r32 ones? Cheers
  17. I dont have a problem with cutting the reinforcement bar, i am just worried that the insurance company will void my claim if i ever have an accident.
  18. ^^^ yeah you do have a point there. cheers
  19. Do you think any insurance company would have a clue if i called and asked them? And the N1 reinforcement bar is around $400 brand new, maybe i can find one secondhand.
  20. Ok I was at my friendly nissan dealer just the other day asking about the N1 front bar for the r32 GTR, he said that i can buy a new reinforcement bar with the holes for the vents (the rectangle ones at the top) already cut out in it or I can put the N1 bar on the standard reinforcement bar but I will have to cut out holes for the vents (the rectangle ones at the top), he also said that the two reinforcement bars are the same and that their is no extra bracing in the N1 reinforcement bar. Now my question is if I do decided to cut holes into the standard reinforement bar will that void my insurance in case of an accident? Fil
  21. It was right in front of the Shenton Park hospital (Curtin Uni Hospital)
  22. Driving back home today down Selby St from work and I noticed alot of flashing lights on the intersection of Selby and Nash st, as i pulled up close I noticed a silver R32 4 door skyline with a carbon fiber hood parked on the grass and it had the whole side of car smashed in. Everything from the drivers side door to the rear door was gone. I hope the driver is alright as the smashed looked horrible.
  23. Well if they stolen mine, they must of pushed it into the power pole.
