As above. Do an advanced driving course if you really are that worried. Get good tyres. I don't understand people who try and save a buck or two on tyres. My R33 GTST came with Federal tyres 235/45 R17 and they are crap in the wet to the point of being scary. Couldn't even keep up with the traffic flow on the highway because it was so bad. Changed to my favourite Yokohama's and it is like a totally different car. Another thing, just because a car can go fast, doesn't mean it has to be driven fast all the time. Lay off the right foot in the wet and the big boost rush won't be a problem. Short shift (before boost) if you can't help yourself. Always drive to the conditions.

I bought my car from Auto J Mart (or AJM) about 15 months ago and I have no complaints. I have done 30000km since then and haven't had a problem. The only money I have spent is on fun stuff, and thats the way it should be. But I will say, like all sales people you still have to watch them. They are there to make as much money as possible and at every opportunity they tried to get me to sign on the dotted line before they completed the things I asked for. Thats normal though. Just do alot of research. I only wish I knew then what I know now, it would have made purchasing, and more importantly bargaining much easier.

I too am with Suncorp. I have a 94 R33 GTST, I am 25 with a rating 2 and I get hit for about $1450 for full comp. I have a few friends in other insurance companies and they either don't touch imports or cannot come close to that price. If anyone can better Suncorp let us know!
