This cruise still a go ahead ?, or getting postponed to another weekend ? Lenno
-
hey Joel, I have a mate that works at komatsu, they sell oil analysis kits for about $25 just fill the container and pop it in the mail and wait for the results. I have done 2 or 3 of these tests with all results in the excellent to good bracket from memory, unfortunatly i have missed doing the last 2 oil analysis at changing time and have since found out that results are layed out on a graph after 3 or so tests.... therefore showing trends, which would be usefull. let me know how you get on finding your first sample kit. cya lenno

hey guys, My clutch had the squeek 6 mths after fitting, took it back and they got under the car, removed the rubber boot and sprayed some type of lube on the clutch lever pivot point, all sweet now and the clutch actually feels a bit easyer to press in.. cheers Lenno

hey gtrrex... after i bought my car in sydney and brought it back to newcastle, went to transfer rego and the rta told me to go to the local pits for a identity check, which from what i saw they appeared to check engine no. chasis no. and they also checked the petrol filler for ULP only filler spout i suppose. At the time my exhaust was about 110dbs and i had a turbo timer, nothing was said, i did borrow a std air box for the inspection. hope this helps and good luck ! Lenno

Twilight drive was farkin awesome !! , and the drifters put on a good show... just didnt have much time to see the drift and have a drive. It was a great chance to learn the limits of the skyline and maybe I learnt how to steer it a bit better. There was some mad cars that showed but only one other skyline, a gtr from targa tas.... now that was quick, hope to see some other skylines next time. I'll be there for sure !! cheers Lenno
-
I'm 90% sure i'll be there with a mate from work, this is my first venture out onto a track... can't wait ! Hope to see some of you guys there. cheers Lenno

Boost drop between gears..?
Lenno replied to Lenno's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
bleed vave is under bonnet type. whats got me stuffed is that it will still spin into second pretty hard but still feel laggy and as i said boost slowly swings to about 4 - 5psi then rockets to 8-9, all at about 4000 revs, as revs dont really rise untill boost does.. I'll have a chat with the mechanic and get him to drive it, see what he thinks. cheers lenno -
Boost drop between gears..?
Lenno replied to Lenno's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for all the ideas guys, the bleed valve i'm using is 2 mths old and is the turbosmart brand, the car is a manual. i'll try swaping the valve and see what happens. BHDave you could be on to something... the wheels usually are spinning just before i hit second, but then still spin into second even though the boost lags for a second..i'll have to investigate further. cheers Lenno -
Boost drop between gears..?
Lenno replied to Lenno's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
thanks anyway nitemare5.....but i've bypassed the solenoid, never had this problem before. Its only between first and second, every other gear the boost goes straight to 8-9psi..ie no 2 stage like when it was stock. idea's anyone..... anyone ??? cheers Lenno -
hey guys ! I've noticed a problem with my 33 gtst lately, when I floor it in first and hit second I seem to get heeps of lag in second where the boost gauge sits on about 3 to 4 psi, then after a second or so hits up to the 8-9psi setting. I'm using a bleed valve but have never noticed this problem before. Any ideas people ?, one mate did suggest the wastegate could be sticking a little. Thanks in advance.. Lenno

hey crazO.... if whiteline supply you the same boots and bumps i got, i don't recomend them. The best boot/bump stop combination i have found and fitted are monroe pk018. These bump stops require cutting but the boots fit a treat. $120 for a set but its good insurance cheers lenno

no probs jim... i tryed the vice, g clamp etc ended up taking them to my work to do on my day off (hate that). Just take the radious rods in to a workshop with a press if they charge any more than $5 a side they are robbing ***s. Btw jim i got some awesome boot/bump kit yesterday should suit the shocks down to a tee... i'll let you lnow how they go lenno
-
hey jimx, the radius rods need to come off to get at the sway bar... easy to get off but as for the radius rod bushes... you will need a press. torque settings...well mine are as tight as i could get em with a check about 500ks later.... hope this helps lenno

ceramic is the go guys.. i'm pretty happy with mine, once i got used to it . lenno

The advantages of keeping your old suspension.
Lenno replied to JimX's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Whiteline pissed me off to no end when i was waiting for my works kit.... there customer service is shocking. On a good note i am 110% happy with my works kit.... Lenno -
no problems jim, good idea sussin out parts first..... let the fingers do the walking lenno
-
jimx.. i mean lift the car up on a hoist like at a workshop... but since i doubt you got a hoist in ya shed..go the trolly jacks with a custom made g/box support frame. This is what i did with my sierra g/box.... NEVER AGAIN !, i'm payin someone to do the r33 hope this helps, so that it can help us all, keep us posted..good luck lenno
-
jimx... A hoist is easy because 3 people can stand up and jiggle the box out with ease. same goes for a pit. It can be done under the car but as sumo said... its one heavy bartard. If your going to do it yaself make a frame up for the box to sit on than have 2 trolly jacks underneath to lower it down.....Good Luck keep us posted... out. lenno
-
JimX... I have the exact problems as you describe, please keep us all posted on the outcome. As for pulling the box out ya self..dont do it unless you got a hoist thanks...lenno
