Hello everyone;
I've decided to upgrade my fuel setup to something a bit better and stable than what I have now which is a stand-alone Bosch 040 in-tank pump. As such I have the old one for sale in a week or two.
Specifications on the Bosch 040:
* It's a direct replacement pump for the stockers
* Rate at 520bhp @ 73.5PSI
* Flows 235L per Hour
* Part Number: 0 580 254 040
Price is $180.00 + postage and handling to anywhere in Australia.
This pump is in A1 Condition, has been in my car for all of 4 months and is only going because I need something more supportive of my car's requirements. There is absolutely no fault with the pump; I would only sell items that are in perfect order anyway (look at my trader feedback).
Anyhow, if anyone is interested let me know... it'll be removed from the car and ready for shipment in 1-2 weeks (hoping to do it in the next week).
Thanks
Stan
I've just had a talk with the mechanics and this is definitely going to be purchased instead of the JJ cooler kit. Just the mention of B&M put a smile on their faces.
I'll be in on this group buy but closer to the next track day in October.
Very interesting... actually looking into one of these! Now just weighing up whether to get one from the JustJap Special or one of these!!!
Decisions decisions decisions!
Thanks for that advice Paul.... from that it would seem that our strategy from now on is OK, no more than 1 session at a time.
I think the rather high temps were in fact due to us running in consecutive sessions
James; we left early because the temps were getting a little high yes. Also because we wanted to raise the suspension, but didn't have C spanners to do it with (forgot) so we just settled for that time and packed up.
First time Mitch or I had been to a track day; we went not expecting much; only to see what the car could do. Now we know, we will do what's necessary to make it better and hopefully in the meantime improve on driving skills
To Adam; you are right - these are addictive!!!
For Eastern Creek we'll just keep to the one Group and let the car cool down properly instead of having it go in one group after another
Car's going through some TLC at the moment so it's all good And by EC I should have the rest of the gear put in which will make it a whole lot more fun
Question to all the seasoned pros out there: If you were going to get serious about the track day... do you go out on every session to get maximum number of laps in, or do you set yourself a number of laps to 1) reduce damage to the car and 2) do your best in those laps.
I'm thinking... going out every session and gunning around the circuit is not only going to be pretty harmful to the car but also on the wallet for fuel
Yeah Mitch and I were sharing the day - car took a complete pounding as he was in Group C and I was in Group D. Car had no issues (apart from having no boost ) but the temperatures were getting a little bit high and uncomfortable by the end of my sessions.
Don't really know who got what times per lap; but Mitch's best was 1:17 and I was slower with 1:19.
satanic @ optusnet.com.au - Thanks D_I_F
Also thanks to all the non-competitors for making the effort to come out and cheer the SAU boys and girls on!!! Great to see so many people by the wall each time we flew past!
Just got back from this... had a great day and we're very pleased with the results!!! Thanks heaps to Adam for organizing the day and great to see you actually show up
Had a few issues initially but sorted them out to end up with a 1:17 If you go to natsoft.com.au you'll be able to see all the results from the day. Good to see SAU was well up there with the RENEW guys in terms of time!
Very happy, can't wait to fit the other goodies, and head up to Eastern Creek for the next one!
PS: Please sir, can I have more boost than 5psi?
I must say for $50 including breakfast, this deal was pretty good Thanks heaps for organizing it Steve!
Not happy about the cut in Power + Water in the morning though!!!
UPDATE:
I have now got a supplier who can do these for $930 delivered to your door If I can get 5 sets or more the price goes down to around $920.
Thanks guys!
Woot! Looking forward to this foshizzle... been doing some servicing the last couple of nights so the car will pretty much be fresh (belts; fluids; all filters).
New tyres go on today Not expecting any super-low times as I'm not running any boost at the moment But will be a good comparison for next time when I do go back with boost (hopefully)
