  1. Great result and congrats buddy especially with all the challenges . What's your car weighing in at now?
  2. Stopped by to see the engine process, delay as the cryogenic guy is on holidays till this Wednesday. The hypertune 90mm plenum and throttle body, 48mm runners arrived.
  3. Lol that's cool.
  4. Thanks Duncan, then Richo is moving. He's always up there with quick times.
  5. For a reference point as I'm not familiar with the track, what kind of lap times would the pro class drivers of last year do, ie mark berry gtr 34, or even his 32 and other drivers? I noticed the byp integra is up there's with em, is the circuit more like Winton? As in better suited to light weight cars that handle than overall power if you get what I mean.
  6. Thanks victory. And Steve, lol not those kind of late nights. Erotic nights business owner is a passionate motor sport fan and a perfect way to target the demographics for the business, without each and every sponsor we would not be able to compete at world time attack. The car that was may have been quick, but the new build is taking it to the next level.
  7. It's about time, we're bringing Victoria with us this year, not only does Victoria want the title but it has to be a skyline....no more evo's lol. I've had a look at the clamps and I'm sure they should be fine, it's just nice to hear someone else has had success with em, as you don't want something as a clamp to ruin the event. If brad has used them in the past then its all good. Cheers steve.
  8. I've read only positive feedback for the Pegasus but not from people running big boost or trustworthy sources. Will give vpw a call when I return from Hong Kong, as I don't know much about their clamps or people that have used them either. Steve ka if you are reading this who recommended the vpw clamps and have they used them in the past without issues?
  9. Thanks mate, at this stage not sure when the car will be done. There's on track events on the 16 July, might even take it to Winton just for a cheaper open practice day shakedown is probably a smarter bet as there's always issues with a new build.
  10. Steve your car was just announced for open class.... Great photos from the-lowdown
  11. Price drop, even open to offers so pm if your interested but don't think the price is right, as i don't like things sitting around and cash can go back into the new build. Gtr cold air intake polished inlet with apexi pods 160 Oil catch cans and breather kit. 150 Standard plenum with throttle bodies 150 Power steering pump with reservoir 50 Turbos 470, one turbo is in perfect running order, the other looks like it needs a new core, exhaust and housing compressor.
  12. I agree, thanks for your link Steve. So 21 days to finish the build and not sure how it will happen, things to do still... Cryogenically freeze engine parts which will take a few days then put it together, add dry sump, waiting for throttle bodie and plenum to arrive, wire up the car, attach side skirts, fabricate cooler piping, finish off dash, maybe add fuel cell to boot, rear diffuser, lengthen exhaust, replace all bearings, extend jacking points, change suspension and alignment, add sponsor logos etc etc etc as this is half the things required. Busy weeks ahead.
  13. Sure is a pro-am class, has heaps more aero on it. Still is super quick though. Last year open class cars were allowed to run full length flat floors which make a huge difference to grip and lap times. Those open class cars last year with the flat floors would not achieve the same times today if everything else was unchanged.
  14. For those that aren't from nsw book your accommodation sooner than later as places are booking up, those from nsw where is the action at night for all to grab a drink?
  15. Just got told dean flat shifts all gears, I guess cause I'm a beginner till I learn, I need to use the clutch.
  16. Any idea how the shift cut works on the ppg/motec? I was advised that unless you invested in a strain gauge type shifter, ur highly likely to round off the gears... Is this what possibly happened to the ex bsm Gtr at Phillip island with 3rd failing? We have been using a Motorsport systems strain gauge. I flat shift 3rd to 4th and clutch other gears, not sure how dean our driver does it, I'm still learning so I was advised to only flat change 3rd to 4th. I messgaed Ex bsm to find out what happened few days ago but no response as yet.
  17. Curious what clamps most people are using? Looking at purchasing some of these on the link below, anyone has any feedback please jump in. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Pegasus-Aluminum-3-0-Turbo-Clamp-Clamshell-Purple-/310682635175? pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item485620cba7
  18. Sweet, and costly without doubt. Looking forward to pics
  19. Progress report?
  20. . Accumulator will help, better to have than not at all.
  21. Agree totally, dry sump is the way to go and save that engine if you can. That evo that one with paddle sequential was super quick with a gun driver at the wheel, budget doesn't allow for a sequential box so the ppg dogbox with a motec shift cut is what will stay, not as fast as the sequential but I have always loved shifting with the h pattern box(makes me feel like I'm a race car driver lol). Hear your going hollinger, awesome. Tyres trying 35's first, not sure till both are tried, anyone else used one or the other jump in?
  22. Memo is competing again, not sure on what some new teams are bringing here as yet but if tilton can get their car running right for once I reckon they can win.
  23. Had larger pan with baffles and accumulator prior but had oil surge in 2 corners so updating to a dry sump set up that the guys are making up. I believe my bar is a trust copy from carmods Australia, gives good room to put oil coolers behind the bar. some good bars to choose from on your link, I liked em. Send me a pm when your headed back out to the island good to see your car in action.
