  1. its out practically every day, but i'm often out of town so it can be seen cruising exotic places like toowoomba, emerald and bundaberg no idea what you're getting at with the defiance thing, doesn't sound like anything near where i live (logan)
  2. nite mate, i'm off to bed too...but no early starts for me! infact NO start for me as i have the day off haha!
  3. jason im sure many are aware of your gripe with mercury, and yes i can sympathise with you, i have had minor problems with them in the past, and yes, this time i didn't get the perfect treatment or results i wanted either, but overall im satisfied with the work they have done. but i dont think they exceeded their quote by an unreasonable amount and all the extra work they rang me about bar the gfb valve as i just said before. I'm happy with how the car is going this far, and although its easy to say the tune 'could be better' but it could also be worse too. And i was very specific in my instructions to go for a very conservative reliable tune so that should be kept in mind.
  4. yeah i'll make it clear that they notified me of all additional work except the bleed valve but from what i understand the car was on the dyno and they were troubleshooting the problem, threw on the bleed valve and it fixed it so naturally they left it on there, they happily proved that the car was run on the dyno and i saw the boost curve that was dropping off, so i was happy with that
  5. umm jason normally i would agree with you but on this case i wont (at least in part). So i should make a few points: yes they charged more than the initial quote but they did do more work (replaced all exhaust studs and gasktet) I'm not too upset with the total amount as i'm pretty sure any other given workshop would have charged similar. and i too was sceptical about the turbotech problem so got them to show me the data straight off the dyno and it was there plain enough for me to understand that when they had ran the car it was dropping off boost when it shouldn't, so there was proof that it needed changing for whatever reason and whats wrong with a 'hump' anyway?
  6. no but cost of parts alone i would say would easily be double my whole cars budget?
  7. well alot of people use them no problem, i'm only running 13psi it should be able to handle that
  8. ur budget is probably alot more than mine, real world example would be comparing nasa space program with indias space program (yes i am india!)
  9. its funny you say that andy as the more i drove it tonight the better it seemed to be, the turbo did sit for a couple of weeks before it got installed so maybe that was something to consider too? i just thought that they are supposed to make full boost before 4000rpm. and yeah yeah, the sheet still says 200 something so im happy althought the injectors are out of puff i used to have a turbotech one but they said it wasnt holding boost (although was working fine when i drove the car over to them?) but i got them to show me the dyno data which proved it, so now it has a simple gfb bleed valve conrolling boost. They also had problems with the wastegate actuator (the one on the highflow was stuffed) so they swapped over my old one but had to bend it to make the wastgate function properly? wierd... hmmm
  10. shane do you have msn?
  11. yeah i'm doing that now, driving it it actually sits on 8psi for some reason before continuing onto full boost, doesnt swing right round like it should?
  12. hmm actually its not making full boost till around 4200rpm, that is stupidly bad lag
  13. slide highflow, no idea on how long but probably not that much long... they said they had to 'modify' the wastegate actuator (ie bend it) so it would shut the wastegate fully, maybe thats still a problem, is it really that bad?
  14. spotted : shanef lurking oh and hi bryn
  15. later peepz im goin for another test drive
  16. yeah i dunno, they say the injectors are maxing out so maybe thats causing it?? stock regulator too
  17. my dyno runs if anyones interested
  18. woah sounds technical
  19. hmm so i can get one of those off the shelf tamiya kits for $400 or whatever, then just pimp it up and be happy? how much do the extra goodies cost if i wanted something that could pull skids on pavers
  20. sure sure, in the medical profession its known as EOS -extreme 'outie' syndrome and its nothing to be ashamed of
  21. i spotto a belly button piercing bump under that shirt
  22. details there squizzmo? where do you buy it and how does one 'hot' them up?
  23. combination of wastegate actuator and turbotech boost controller bleeding off boost (i looked at the dyno reading) umm it was more than quoted but it did include replacing all exhaust studs and a new gasket which wasn't cheap, plus a service i wont say the exact amount as it wasnt astronomical, i can send you a pm if you wish? and if you're referring to dan he couldn't help me at all cos he has too many jobs on his hands already. man i'm glad i didn't get a bigger turbo tho, its a pain driving it as is, i want response darn it
  24. 218.9kw at the wheels now but doh did it cost lol
  25. you'll find its hard to flare the rear guards on a 33, better off cutting the lip as its cheaper and no risk to paintwork
