  1. Sorry, im not intending to buy the GTiR just yet. Im selling my skyline to finish off paying my car loan cuz i hate the interest rates. By saving on the interest rates (12%), i'll have enough money to buy a GTiR within six to eight months. By then my financials will all be soughted out, i just dont want to get a bad credit rating should i ever get so bad that i default on my loan.
  2. Thanks for all your input guys. realli helping out. The onli real problem i can see so far is the understeer issue. But as every one says, that can be fixed for a couple of grand. Just a question though, why did everyone who used to own one, seem to have sold it? Was maintenance issues that bad? Anyone who uses theirs as a weekender/ cruise/ track car experience the same amount of problems? once again, cheers for all the help.
  3. Hey y'all Ive decided to sell my skyline because i quit my job and i dont want the hassles of ever defaulting on my car loan. Also because I think that the interest rates are total :bs: I'll be selling my car, paying off the rest of my loan, and within 6 months, will have saved up enough money for a GTiR. Anyways, i currently drive a NA r33 and decided that I want a GTiR. Ive been in love with them for ever and I'm real hesitant to jump into the water. Ive heard that the gearboxes are :bs: and that they guzzle fuel like nothing. Anyone ever owned one and have any experiences with them? I'll continue to keep my bunky as well so the GTiR wont be a daily driver. Are the sr20det's compadible from other s-series? Thanks all for input.
  4. i think thats what the standard muffler is called. It just has the air looping back and forth thru a series of tunnels. if that makes any sense. where as a with a straight through muffler, its just a straight tunnel. _________________ | _______________|____ | ( __________________ <-----exhaust |_(____________ ) | _______________) | |________________| In a standard exhaust then the fumes are "baffled" through a "mechanical" eexhaust and this results in restrictions. __________________ | | |_________________|__ ____________________ <----- exhaust | | |_________________| In a straight thru exhaust their is no restrictions to exhaust
  5. Mine was 2 1/4 inch from the factory i think. So basicalli you open it up 1/4 of an inch when movin to a 2.5 inch system. The onli thing that realli holds back your exhaust is the mechanical(?) muffler which is meant to baffle sound via redirecting exhaust fumes.
  6. i use one. on my NA skyline. I dont see the harm in lettin my engine warm down after im hammering it at 120km+. i also use it to warm up my engine on cold days in the morning, for when im stoppin to get out and grab a newspaper or something else trivial, to measure my voltage when im running my stereo with the engine off, and for a couple of other reasons that im sure i could think of. Dont say that NA's use them for wank factor cuz my reasons are all legitimate, and also their not illegal in WA.
  7. The onli thing that could possibly hold you back on your sale would be the car year. other buyers might be more inclined to lean towards a series 2. I would value your car at about 16-19k with 17k bein the lowest offer i would accept if i was sellin the car. If you were to sell it i would definatley pull the sound system out as you lose a huge value on it when reselling. Unless ur keen to ditch it. Paul
  8. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd...one=main&id=764 Thats it there. cost about 450 for the muffler, and about 300 for the rest of the install. i do however have a feelin that i got a bit ripped off on the price of the muffler, but i didnt realli mind cuz the bloke rushed me thru and had it all installed in a couple of hours the following day. The group buy has fallen thru i think. Not enough interest and communication problems with the supplier i think.
  9. i got a 2.5inch magna flow cat back. one resonator. 2.5inch inlet with twin 4inch tips. Looks the sh1t and sounds even better. Made a minor improvement in performance. CAI made a better difference. Cant wait til i get extractors but that aint gonna happen til a group buy takes off.
  10. forget the lights mate, i want those number plate covers. Or is it just a photo chop?
  11. i had the same problem. box was too "crunchy" and it wouldnt accept the gears sumtimes. Wack sum redline shookproof into it lads. that will help for about 30,000 + km. ive done about 30,000km on it and its been sweet. onli problem is that i can see the problem startin to come back a lil bit. But its still better then wat it was. I find that if i thrash my car then the box isnt too forgivin and will play up for a while til it starts to relax a bit. If ur g/box wont go into reverse. try pumpin the clutch a bit as well to get sum oil flowing thru it, works a charm everytime. paul
  12. are you sure u have a r34 with a rb20de? I dont think moving the muffler a few inches forward will make too much of a difference. I know of lots of ppl who have changed their exhaust systems (commo's etc) and some have moved the muffler to the back, whilst others have left it in the middle and none have experienced any problems.
  13. im decidin whether to purchase the bel rx65 or rocky mountain. I know the rocky mountain is developed usin military technology. Rocky mountain is also very competivitly priced, and according to their website, they are faster then the beltronics. Only thing stoppin me is the fact that beltronics has such a good reputation. Ive seen one bloke sellling the rx65 for 500. If we manage to get a couple of blokes together we could possibly get it between 450-480 dollars a piece. Anyone interested??? I'll find out today wether he'll budge on the price. Cheers. Paul
