  1. Let me know when some of you guys get it and we'll hook up and have some races on a private server we setup. Just had another game tonight, what can I say but this game is awesome, Go and get in now, right now, but make sure you have a wheel, cause its virtually impossible to play without one. You can play arcade mode, but you may as well not bother buying this game if you play arcade mode only. Its simulation mode where this game comes into its own. Cheers
  2. I've got GTR FIA GT Racing, what can I say but this game is f*ckin awesome. Forget trying to play this game without a wheel. I use a Logitech Momo FF, and went straight to simulation mode with all assists off except traction control (man is it hard to keep straight with it off) Only had it a few days and for the 1st time tonight played it with another mate on a server we setup. What can I say but its kickass This game is no arcade crap thats for sure, its a pure simulation, the best I have ever played. It has it all, try going hard on the 1st lap with the tyres cold you will spin, tyres go off if you don't treat them right, ie too much wheelspin etc. Do a donut and you'll blow a tyre in no time. Go off line and there is no grip, you understeer off the track etc etc. The sound in this game is awesome also, you can hear your front tyres scrubbing with too much lock on and you understeer off the track. You really need to feed the throttle on or lookout it will spin. You really have to drive these cars unlike all other race games where they just seem so easy after playing this. I'd be keen to play in a GTR FIA GT Racing league and I'm sure I can get some Aussie's in from our clan www.r2clan.com to give you guys a run for ya money. Like I said I've only had it a fews days and in between spinning have so far managed a best lap of Spa in 2:13.3s Anyone who wants to see this game in action, I have made an in game video, racing the Ferrari 550 around Spa, its 100meg (ouch says those poor 56'kers)is in DivX format, with the obligatory huge crash and some donuts/burnouts/fishtales at the end. http://files.filefront.com/GTR_FIA_GT_Raci...;/fileinfo.html Go and get this game now, forget GT4 it pales in comparison to this game, its a true simulation not some acarde kiddies game. Cheers

We have up-to-date news and info on new games like BF2, Need for Speed Most Wanted etc etc. We have heaps of gaming vids, shot in game using Fraps, drifting in NFSU2, owning in BFV and one that I released today a GTR FIA GT racing vid for those who haven't seen or played the game. So swing on by sign up its free and say hi, meet gamers from all over the world. If you would like to join us, the clan, simply tell us what game/s you play, show us your skills, as we require people to pass a gaming test before they can join the clan. We are recruiting, especially for Battlefield 2 at the moment and will also be for games like Need for Speed Most Wanted and if you still play Need for Speed Underground 2 (most of us are mad drifters) Though we are gamers and the site is mostly gaming related we also have interests in other areas like cars/motorsport ect etc and are home to the most detailed information about DIRTgarage, Paul and Stacey's two.06L GTR. There you will find in depth detail into the build up/mods as they happen, future mods/drag racing and results, you will find it there first. We have a bit of info including vids of NFSMW, always try and have up to date news on games like this. We are also mad BFV'ers (Battlefield Vietnam) and are eagerly awaiting the release of Battlefied 2 this month and the demo comes out on the 10th. Cheers
  5. I put Paul and Stace from DIRTgarage aka two.06L on to Jim Berry Race Clutch to try one of his race clutches. They were looking at getting a twin or triple plate which cost big $$$ as you know. Quite simply its superb and the best value for money clutch you will ever buy anywhere. Beauty of this clutch is its a single plate, some might scoff and say a single plate can't handle high hp, well normally no but a Jim Berry single plate GTR race clutch can. Its very streetable, no rattle like multi-plate clutches and can handle high rev clutch dumps all day everyday. With two.o6L now making 411awkw and 467rwkw and now with the Mickey Thompson ET's it requires an 8000rpm+ clutch dump to get off the line without bogging down and if you've seen the 1.65 60 foot times there is not even a hint of slip and like Paul says, 2yrs of racing and its still superb. Simply the best clutch out there as for max hp thats unknown at this stage but rest assured it can handle very high hp. Either contact Paul/Stace or me from DIRTgarage via pm and leave your number one of us will call you. Cheers
  6. If you want to ensure that any modification you are thinking about doing is legal or not speak to an engineer 1st before doing the mod. I tend to agree that carbon bonnets would be illegal due to the change in the crumple effect, we all know about pedestrian saftey, a shard of carbon could literally slice you in half at speed. I know that some fibreglass/metal reinforced 4wd bonnets are RTA approved like FJ40's but I again say speak to an engineer 1st then get him to sign off on it if the mod you are doing is legal. Cheers
  7. Hands up all those people that have a Jap import. Now hands up all those people that have removed the 180km/hr speed limiter from their Jap import. Would you say the majority? If the government was "serious" about stopping hoons/speeding drink driving etc it "can" be done. I think it can be done reasonably easily too and heres how. To stop speeding "all" cars should be fitted with a speed limiter. You could just make the speed limiter set to 110 km/hr but if they were really serious they could have a variable speed limiter which A: would never allow you to exceed the maximum speed of 110km/hr ever and B: they could fit a device to speed limit signs that would communicate to the cars speed limiter to tell it the max speed limit for that area so the car could never exceed it. This device would need to be tamper proof in someway and if it was removed/tampered with the car would fail to start. Any devices fitted to try and remove/alter/trick the limiter your car gets confiscated and sold to a law abiding citizen to help pay for the race tracks/drag strips. They will never ever do this, not because it would cost money to implement, I'm sure they could and would slug the drivers for the cost. They won't do it because they are makin massive amounts of money out of people breaking the law and it would cost them their revenue raising from this illegal activity. How ethical or moral is it for the government to be making money out of people breaking the law? To stop drink driving every car could be fitted with a breathalyser which unless you were under the limit would not allow you to start your car. problem solved. The other thing is lack of appropriate places like race tracks and drag strips where you should be able to enjoy your car in a controlled environment. Two recent examples near where I live I think would have solved a lot of hooning/burnouts general anti-social behaviour involving a car. These were the doughnut pad at Raymond Terrace and the proposed race track/drag strip at Raymond Terrace also. The doughie pad has closed so where are all these guys doing their burnouts now, on the street? I had noticed since the doughie pad opened a distinct lack of big blackies on the street, rarely would you see any but now they are everywhere you go. It was very popular and didn't close due to a lack of popularity. The race track/drag strip got knocked back so a lot of guys are still street racing, a number were caught again recently at Kooragang island which street drags have been going on there for over 40 years. I know my father told me he used to drag there when he was a kid. If the government were serious about stopping antisocial behaviour involving cars and don't forget the side benefit of actually saving lives, they could do this but like I said they won't because they are making so much money from these illegal activities. I know 2 people recently who have exceeded the speed limit by over 45km/hr and they still have their licences. It has been over one year for one of them and they still haven't had their licence taken away and have even been caught speeding again in this time. Why aren't the licence taken away from them, because the government know these guys are likely to speed again and they are a potential revenue raiser. They can't speed if they don't have a licence so they can't make money from them. Its not rocket science. Cheers
  8. When I read the title of this thread 6 GTR's stolen I thought damn I feel sorry for those 6 guys. Now actually reading the thread I'm amazed that all 6 were owned by the same guy and stolen at once. How many black cats have you run over? I am equally amazed that through your incredible persistence you have recovered 5/6. Good work its a pity you haven't caught one of these lowlife thieving scumbags. What I would be chasing up is the annonymous caller. Did the police check your phone records to see what number and where the call came from. Surely they could get a record of numbers that rang your phone. Was it a mobile phone at all because they could triangulate the position next time this guy has his phone on. How could this guy get your number other than here did you advertise this anywhere else? If he saw it here why didn't he ask for the reward money? Did they check the blocks of flats that they were found at maybe they live there or at least very close by. I also can't believe they didn't steak out at least one of the found cars to try and catch one of these scumbags which may have lead you to finding all your cars. This story totally puts me off from ever importing a car, I don't think I would be able to sleep with an uninsured pride and joy in the "so called" care of someone else for what 3 days or so. My hair would turn grey or fall out and I would probably die from a heart attack before I even got to drive it if at all. I am equally amazed that these cars haven't either been burntout, stripped, thrashed to death or rapped around a telegraph pole which happens to most stolen cars. My brothers car got stolen and we searched for hours for it and finally found it a few km's from home burnt to a crisp and all the good bits stripped. They stole it from our driveway while we were all alseep sometime in the early hours of the morning. I feel for ya bud, I wish you all the best, keep persistent like you have been and I hope you find your remaining car asap. Sounds like there are a helluva lot of people keeping an eye out for you. I'm sure it will turn up soon. Cheers
  9. Yeah I'm starting to realise this now. I'm new here this is only the second thread I have posted in and the 1st thread I posted in Bel Performance vs Croydon's Racing Development in the NSW forum has now been deleted. That's just weak, apol's for the Cheers
  10. Ummm, what happened to the other thread on this subject it seems to have gone missing any idea's anyone? Cheers
  11. Venting to atmosphere BOV's are considered illegal because of the increased noise they make. Thats what the RTA inspector said. However if you have a plumback BOV these are theoretically not illegal because they are not noisy. So no not all BOV's are illegal. Same goes for pod filters, these are deemed illegal also because of the increase noise they make from induction roar. Front mount intercoolers, well thats just bull, unless they protrude outwards from the front bar, so if they are sticking out past the front bar they would be deemed illegal. Just like rocket launcher rod holders or extra lights on a 4wd bullbar cannot now stick out past the bullbar. Fog lights on during daylight hours is a gay rule. How many cars do you know of like Volvo's have lights on, from the factory during the day as this is deemed safer so why these are illegal I don't know other than to raise more revenue. My advice would be to cop it sweet from the cops then debate the issue later, even go to an engineer to get your mods approved and keep the engineer report in the car, then stick it in the cops face "without" saying anymore. Ride height is a min of 100mm. Its must be able to pass over a 100mm object from front to rear under the car otherwise its deemed illegal so yes you have to be able to drive your car over that object without touching. Hope this helps Cheers
