  7. Sorry for the late reply; yeah ranicx, the sound you describe seems to be it, so looks like ill just leave it! Cheers
  8. G'day all, My R33 has developed a clicking noise noticeable more at slow speed when coming on and off power, it's only a very light noise, possibly CV's? If anyone could shed some light it would be great! Cheers, Bart.
  9. I remember hearing about one of the Porsches Jim Richards used in targa a few years back using the Air Con system to cool the fuel, in an interview he said they race with the A/C on to produce MORE power. might be worth looking into.....
  10. i found out because i pulled off where its supposed to be and there was nothing there!, mine never really got off cold, except on a hot day in traffic, now it warms up within a few minutes and feels alot better to drive! Part i used was Dayco Thermostat DT19E-BP, opens at 77 degrees C, works perfectly. Got it from my local repco, ~$40.
  11. turns out it never had one to begin with, might explain a thirsty R33 hey?
  12. G'day all, It would seem my new R33 either has a faulty or non existant thermostat, just wondering, where abouts is it located? and also can anyone give me a quick rundown of what i need to do to replace it?? Ie. do i need to drain ALL the water, or can i get away with leaving most of it in the system? Cheers, Bart.
  13. cheers for that, must just be something malfunctioning
  14. G'day all, I Just installed an exhaust temp gauge in the car, but i cant seem to get it to read past the base number (500 degrees C). Just wondering what sort of temps i should expect from a fairly stock R33, i had the gauge reading up to around 650 with a gas match under the probe, so it works as far as i know. Also the probe is installed in the turbine outlet of a split dump, just in front of the oxy sensor. Any ideas? Cheers, Bart.
  15. As the title states, located in hobart, both items brand new! Grab a bargain while they last Cheers, Bart. SOLD

  17. Recently picked up my fresh import that ive been waiting on for 3 1/2 months...... gave it a quick polish and wax, but basically its how it arrived. currently stickered up for our promo car, stickers turned out kinda well i thought.
  18. Hey everyone, I NEED to get my car onto the spirit from vic to devonport either wednesday or thursday night this week, if anyone knows someone that might be able to pull some strings please let me know ASAP! Please contact me on 0400 996 966.
  19. Yo all, Just after an old skyline cat that someone doesnt need anymore, spose i could pay you if need be......lol Cheers, Bart.
  20. You'll probably find that out of the factory the boost wont hold to redline without the aid of some sort of boost controller closing the wastegate, as the manufacturer would aim more at driveability and midrange than top end, i say the boost drop is totally normal.
  21. Stock turbo i'm assuming? The turbo is getting past it's efficiency range and dropping boost. Get an electronic boost controller to get it to close the wastgate up at higher revs to try and retain boost. Your gauge install is fine, and its the correct reading! Cheers, Bart.
  22. When i tested it i was getting 8.7v across the ref and ground, across the signal it was the same (where the fault is happening i assume). If i bought it into my local petroject or similar do you think they would be able to sort out an equivilant replacement?? Cheers, Bart.
  23. No it's an HKS gauge (dial type), but used an electronic sender. I've come to the conclusion the sender is buggered, anyone know a suitable replacement?
  24. Howdy all, My HKS boost gauge is just showing full vacuum all the time (ie. just laying over as if its off), and wont go up to zero when turned on without engine running. What sort of voltages is the sender supposed to be putting out (its an electronic gauge)? I can get around 8.7 that goes from the gauge to the sender, and when earthed to the senders earth(s), the voltage does not change regardless of pressure/vacuum. Or if anyone knows where i could source a replacement that would be great! Cheers, Bart.
  25. Got no idea if its FRP or plastic, havent got the car yet! SHOULD be picking it up tomorrow, fingers crossed! I recieved a few more photos of it, just making me all warm inside Check out the dash and neat half cage, loving it! Cheers, Bart.
