  1. MOST APPRECIATED
  2. I can totally understand why you want to do it you pedantic bugger but it would be a tatal waste of time because as said within 2 weeks or less it will be lined with carbon again anyways. Also washing it out is a big no no because no matter what you do you will not get it out of your resonator or muffler. Condensation is nulafied because it is in extremely small quantities and Hot exhaust/exhaust gas makes quick work of that. But if you wash it out the pooled water you couldn't get out will sit for ages and your exhaust will die of internal cancer Unless it is blocked, don't bother as it will have no effect on note or performance
  3. 10G, Hah! You can pick up an R32 GTS-T with 60-80Km for around 8G. For a 17yr old 4door (family car) non-turbo I think 6G would be on the generious side especially considering that it is majorly unlikely that they are original Kms'. Thats around 2500 aprox.Kms a year
  4. Your photo is "case and point" of something else i was going to say = I think the wing off look really promotes that low fat drifter appeal which to set it off nicely, you really need a great set of deep dishes like yours which look sweet. Where as I have forged alloy, super light weight (sumwhat pretty) white enkei NTO3 racing rims. A performance orrientated rim but also look pretty which causes one of those optical illusions I was talking about causing the car car to look slimmer than if i had dishies. The point to the ramble is at the moment the wing acsentuates the look and it will have to be reassessed when lowered
  5. I'm going to get a whiteline package but was really keen to see how your car sits once it's fitted Preferably R32 for me personally but feel free to post others as i'm sure other people would like to see thiers as well This is my car at present and as you can see, it looks like a 4WD Post away peoples
  6. I think at its current height the wing looks ok but when you lower your car and you get a more aggressive squat to it, the rear end almosts appears lower and fatter. (an optical illusion if you will) Cheers for your inputs
  7. sorry to revive this thread but I was just wondering about a few things 1. what are peoples experiences with factory pads= Bite, dust, noise etc. 2. what are peoples experiences with hawk pads specifically and if i get a set, is it possible/legal to get your discs slotted (As they are factory discs and practically new) Cheers guys, your experiences are most appreciated!
  8. Looking at the pics again, I think if i have the center intake of the front bar extended up for the intercooler and maybe extend the lower edge down a couple of cm's all the way around the bar it might balance out the more aggressive look of the rear spoiler. What do you guys think? I know it comes down to my personal taste but i known you guys see hundreds of skylines modded in different ways and it's always good to see things from a different perspective
  9. I've been told that they look to much like a sedan with the wing off! I actually took it off for a while and then it went nuts and no one had a wing, so to be different, I thought i'd put the wing back on. My only problem with the wing is the M-spec front bar because the wing gives a performance car aura but the entire front end is soft, round and not menencing at all! Cheers for the responses, keep them coming
  10. Hey everyone, i'm curious to hear your thoughts on wether my car looks better with the GTR wing or better with out it? P.S. It will be lowered in the future! Sorry about the picture set up as I don't know how to resize or get the picture directly displayed on the post side by side
  11. How much? because i have white enkei's with one that will need re-rolling
  12. Good luck with the cruise jas! Jezz absis, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed. LOL
  13. Sam, You have nothing to appologise for! You wanted to meet other Gtr owners and i'm sure everyone appreciated it!
  14. Totally agree!
  15. Had this when I first bought my car and i found it to be the tps was adjusted wrong = To just off idle so the computer never gets the signal that its now idling
  16. just to add, Full custom stainless steel exhaust with dual dump that joins after the elbow, 3.5 inch stainless steel biscuit cat with previous mentioned cat back all fitted close to the chassis to ensure no scraping and HPC coated all up =$1000 flat =
  17. Jhonny cash is on the money! Excuse the pun. I got a complete custom job done that from the cat back had a hotdog and then a high quality rear stainless steel wound (not packed and yes there is a big difference) cannon muffler. This set up was hell droney, sounded awsome but way, way too loud and on decelleration from 2200 - 1800rpm my ear drums hurt and it gave me a massive headache just getting it home! Took it back and got the hotdog replaced with a side-by-side resonater (looks like a normal muffler only the exhaust flow goes straight through on one side and the other side has a steelwool packed chamber to absorb the excess exhaust gas expansion which is what causes the exhaust note out of your rear muffler) Exhaust note for me is absolutely perfect, I have a full unrestricted exhaust that has a great note but dosen't intrude. It is to quiet for some of my friends but its exactly what i wanted and with it being the only current mod everyone comments on how well my car goes. So rear cannon = $128 resonator = $90 piping and mounts = $180 = Cheap as chips with great results. You don't need an expensive name brand.
  18. Don't know what the big deal is, cars is cars
  19. Pretty keen jas, also have a couple of R32 friends that would probably attend!
  20. I'm a senior tech for a very prestiges car company and Two things I know as general rules 1. People with money don't give a f#$k about their cars because they usually onsell before the cars out of warrenty! Seriously it sometimes even makes me mad and repulsed at the state of these so called upper class peoples cars 2. Womem are the worsed! they will hear the most minute little squeak when the motors banging, the wheel bearings are whinning so loud it hurts and as always the brakes are metal on metal - "Oh, I was wondering what that noise was!" even when there are brake pad sensors with a big red lights and text on the dash telling you to get them checked. Again this is only a generalisation but one derived from many years in the industry The end fact is that a lot of women drive with out any thought for their vehicle. jump in, start, go and stop. Not much considerstion for anything that sounds or feels different, warming the car up, wether the maintainence is up to date and I personally know of heaps of girls whos service is well over due but they can't afford it this week because they have a $300 hair dresser appiontment. I also believe that girls are very heavily hard done by due to the masses of willing mechanics to rip them off at everyturn which would make me shy away from the whole thing as well. Especially when all they're interested in is getting from A to B. That said, let me say - WOMEN IN THE CAR SCENE IS GREAT and i always give support to any person that even just wants to learn how to check levels and tyre pressures on a regular basis. Cutos to those people out there
  21. Any way its only an opinion, take it or leave it, it's there. No skin off my nose.
  22. I usually hate it when people say just boost it and see but now from many discussions with people with RB20 stock turbos that have run them at 1BAR for at least a few years now i'm starting to be converted, and lets face it, RB20 turbos are in abundance and cheap if some thing does go wrong. If it fails it isn't going to go back into the motor, it will fall straight down the exhaust (no biggy, just fish it out). NOW, my beef with the idea of running 1BAR on a standard turbo is that you have now pushed the turbo out of its efficientcy range which is what causes excessive heat hence turbo failure! An RB25 turbo how ever will only cost you around $400 for a low km item and will pull hard to redline whilst only sacrificing 500 rpm in lag. These turbos are reportably not as strong as the RB20's but even at 12PSI it will actually be flowing more Than the 20 and is plumb in the peak power and torque efficientcy range. To conclude, if your not after big horse power and want a great power curve than in my humble oppinion the RB25 turbo would be ideal for your application. And a bargain upgrade to boot = all bolts straight up and with a remap you'll be going gang busters. Just look in the dyno thread to see the power curves achieved = SIR32 for one off hand Hope that helps
  23. Thats how your suposed to do it, every 200m or so (sufficient time to cool a bit) you should be giving your brakes hell until your almost stopped but never stop or there is a very real possibility of heat soak and warping for a fair few emergency stops.
  24. Saab of all manufacturers have been using variable turbos for donkeys years and the reason that these turbos have been in diesels for ages and hadn't transfered to petrol is because up until recently (1-2 yrs) the basic design had been pattented to a couple of truck compenies but now its a free for all so now citreon,BMW,audi, saab, porsche etc are developing the turbo for petrol application. I know audi have had electic servo motor controlled variable vain turbos for about a year and they hoot! ! ! Where as BMW have been using electrically switch vacuum actuated variable vain turbos on their diesels for a few years now and apparently a twin turbo 3L 6cyl using these turbos is in the pipeline. Should haul arse!
