  1. Thanks for this, I actually agree with you and i do REALLY enjoy working around computers, otherwise i was set to become an ops manager etc at the call center. I have a bit of networking done at home, my pc case is always open as i assembled it myself and keep tweaking it. I'll install linux and make mine a domain controller for the other 3 i have in my house and start looking for a job on the phones as tech support. Thanks alot for the guidance people, appreicate it p.s. Could anyone please give me the download link for the correct version of linux that I should be getting? Also, any good e-books that you have come across? Cheers
  2. thanks for the replies guys ... we'll eventually i would like to go to be a sys admin but you have to start somewhere. I would PREFER the role to be hands on thats why i wasn't really looking at the ISP helpdesk roles. Is it worthwhile doing MCSE before going in or?
  3. Hey guys, as above ... i need a boost gauge in PROPER working condition. I bought one a day back and it was FU&&*ED!!!!! and i dont want another el cheapo one ... should be perfectly working. Not fun seeing 18 psi when youre running 11. So if you have one and are near s/e suburbs in VIC, i can come pick it up. Not willing to goto the western suburbs etc or get one posted down. Im in no rush so i'll keep bumping it up till one comes along hhehe. let us know. Cheers
  4. Hey guys, I'm sure some of you here would be working in a tech support kind of role. I've completed a Bachelors in IT around a year or so ago ... been working in a call center as a sales agent and then a team leader etc etc for quite a while now. I quit that job a month ago to get into my own field. I think tech support would be the best way to get into it? I haven't officially worked in IT till now although im pretty good with computers and can touch type etc but nothing "official" . I was looking around on seek and most tech support / desktop support jobs require experience as well ... any ideas on how i can get into one? Where did you guys start? Thanks for any help/tips! Cheers
  5. is this a stock rb20 or rebuilt? very nice figures
  6. hey guys, been searching for a while ... im sure this has been covered but couldnt find it sorry. I've got an r32 gtst ... i was wondering if its possible to get a 52mm or any size gauge mount so i can mount 2-3 gauges under the cd player? e.g. would this fit ... http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...at=0&page=1 thanks for the help *edit* oops, just getting used to the forum ... can someone put this in the cosmetic section? cheers

    Pop Plate Ideas

damnit. I see. thanks for that. i guess i'll have to get used to my plates. No way i'm getting myself to spend 400 for custom plates ... too many performance mods cost out there for 400
  8. hey guys, I've gotta get new number plates so i thought i might as well get the pop plates, 99$ ... 3 letters followed by 3 numbers ... im really not creative so thought i'd ask on here. Its an r32 rb20det btw ... soon to have a fair few mods Cheers!

    Fmic Kit

haha ... lookin good man. Yea, as they say ... prevention is better then cure. It does apply here in a sense lol

    Fmic Kit

as before, i would not want to argue over it with the police. much rather get an fmic with inlet and outlet on the one side so i can retain the factory airbox etc. i'll wait till justjap get them back in stock. As for the core's importance ... agreed it does make a difference, but is it really "THAT" obvious for a daily driver that will not be going to the drags trying to reduce 0.01 seconds off his time? i know this is debateable but still

    Fmic Kit

hmmm, whats the reasoning behind that if you know, and still ... i'm guessing most cops dont know this rule, and i dont really wanna chase an engineer to sign it off and then argue with the police with the certificate

    Fmic Kit

yea i believe u can keep the stock airbox in place with this cooler, do the cops actually open the box? cuz i intend to put the pod inside lol. i've msgd steve from justjap to see when they'll have this in. thanks for the replies so far
  13. pm sent, consider it sold p.s. it will fit an rb20 stock AFM yea?

    Fmic Kit

yea Rekin it is more then standard i guess but tons of people have it. Agreed some of them would have a few internal changes to the engine but still ... even with bolton mods, i'm sure people have taken the rb20 over 250. I'll aim for 220 then anyway ~ at this stage im more then happy with just having a bit more boost and exhaust, but i'm sure that'll pass in a few weeks haha so im preparing. http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=339&page=1 is that the one you guys are talking about? its been out of stock for a bit. And i would prefer not cutting anything because the car is in real neat condition and some people have said its unroadworthy if that tray is cut? Cheers

    Fmic Kit

thanks mate, hypergears website doesn't say much about their kits. I'm comfortable doing it myself if there's no cutting or anything required.

    Fmic Kit

Hey guys, just bought my first skyline a couple of days ago ... VERY happy with it Starting to mod it now, i'm aiming for 220-250 rwkw at the end ... which FMIC do you think I should get? there's a couple of kits on justjap.com ... any recommendations/warnings/suggestions etc? I've heard you pretty much have to cut the battery tray with whichever kit you get? Better yet, anyone in VIC selling one? Thanks fellas!
  17. from what i've read in the previous posts on this forum ... rb20's should have around the 150 mark? anyone know?
  18. yea i'll get one done. and usually if theres compression loss .. its really obvious in one or two cylinders yea? not even all around 6?
  19. Guys i would really REALLY appreciate some help in this matter ... i've just put a deposit down on a skyline r32 (RB20DET) (i shouldve waited till after) he did a compression check on it today and the results are as follows: 1) 90 2) 95 3) 90 4) 90 5) 100 6) 95 They are pretty even, but i read around a bit and saw that it should be around the 150 mark? the car drives perfect and theres no smoke revving it up. Now what i'm thinking is that the compression check was done wrong? or are there different types of checks which u get different results with? Please tell me what i should do as 10k is alot of cash for me. Should i get a leakdown test done on it again from a performance mechanic? What are the perfect results for that going to be like? Thanks for the help guys!
