  1. Thanks for your help guys. I ain't no rice boy, I'm just about functionality. I care about to speed and handling...not looking good.
  2. Are turbo timers and BOV's really that usefull or worthwhile? I'm just wating on my first skyline (somewhere in the pacific) and I'm thinking what the first things I shoud do to it. My main priority is to make the car last and it too be a stable everyday driver. The only mods that I'll probably do is just double the boost with that $22.00 boost controller that everybody on here raves about. It's already equipped with a straight through exhaust. What BOV's should I stay away from If I don't wanna wake up the neighbours like a moron everytime I go down the street. I just don't want one that super loud...or maybe I won't have that problem if I'm only running double the standard boost (8psi?) Thanx in advance for you help
  3. Awesome setup. Are Caster and camber adjustable on a stock R33 GTS-T Type M ?
  4. Japan: 14.5 - 15 K drive away with rego. You can get a stocker R33 grade 3-4 for about 450, 000 - 500, 000 YEN Dealership : 18K Private : 17K
  5. Cheers and thanks for all your help guys. First thing on the list...Power FC. ooohohh can't wait!!!!!!! Now I'm gonna go and put myself in a coma so when I wake up my skyline would have arrived. This wait is killing me
  6. Check your air intake for cracks or small holes in the pipe from teh filter to the engine. If there is a whole or leak then the car compensates by kicking up the idle.
  7. Hi Guys, I just bought my first Skyline and now I'm agonisingly waiting for it to arrive. (R33 GTS-T Type M) Now I know how cars work but I don't really know much more. I'm not a mechanic. What I'v been thinking lately is How do I icrease performance without using bolt on mods? Such as bigger turbo's, increase boost, intercooler etc etc. Basically, I want to slowly build my car as genuinly fast and the first things I wanna do are make changes to the inside / strength / power of the existing engine and then once the engine is strong enough I will bolt on the bigger turbo's etc etc The first thing I thinking of is CAMS and possibly head gaskets...that sort of thing. Can I get a top ten list of non bolt on mods please guys? I'm also open to people who oppose my point of view and thinking...as I said, I'm not a machanic. (Maybe the engine is strong enough to handle all the bolt on mods straight away) Cheers, Sam
  8. Here are the facts: Mazda RX8 : APPROVED Honda S2000 : APPROVED Merc C180: BANNED (coz of that sorry of an excuse for a Supercharger called Kompressor) This car produced just over 100KW!!!!! Mazda MX5 SE Turbo : BANNED What f**king tool would think that RX8 and S2000's are not as powerfull as a Lazer TX3 turbo?!?!?!?!?! Don't you think that with Merc's advanced safetly features and teh bucketloads of airbags that it would pass??? Of course not because a "Kompressor" is not allowed WHAT A CROCK OF CRAP!!!!! Man, I hope I never have to go back on my P's
  9. Hi Guys, Can some please list the differences between the the Series 2 skylines and all the other R33T before it. Are there any engine differences? More KW?? or is the only difference asthetic? Cheers,
  10. umm, ok. But I've been told that alot of importers actually put the car back to stock just to pass it through rego and stuff and then put all the mods back on. This way, I'm only paying for labour as I don't actually buy the stock parts. Is this commen practice?
  11. Hi Guys, Just about to import my first skyline and have a few questions. 1. When is it time to get an A/M EMS ? Do I need it if I'm running an R33 GTST with exhaust, BOV, Intercooler and standard turbo? 2. What's the sh#t when it comes to EMS? 2. Do the R33T require PULP? Thanx in advance for all your help
  12. Cheers for help mate. Now considering I've only been researching this whole importing thing for 2 hours, this is what I've concluded... If want to import a car under 15 years of age it has to be taken back to stock standard by RAWS. Am I right? Would I be correct in assuming that I should buy a stock standard skyline from Japan coz the A/M stuff is just gonna get trashed anyway? is http://www.boostimports.com.au a decent importer? If not then who is? Bearing in mind that I would like an agent to take care of everything for me and also include tyres.
  13. Hey Guys, I'm considering about to import a skyline through an agent and as I've never done it before I've got a few questions which I'm sure you've answered 100's of times but please be patient 1. What do agents mean by “turned back to stock prior to compliance”. Exactly what is stock standard and what is legal and illegal? 2. If an item is removed, eg a BOV or exhaust, to make it stock, is it removed in Japan or Australia? If australia then what is done with the part? 3. Is it still mine to keep and take home with me? 4. Are tyres included in the package? If not, why? Thanks in advance for your help guys...
