  1. Sorry to hear about your loss, I'll keep an eye out for it. It sucks about not having insurance it is expensive but these days you can’t trust anyone. Anyways I hope it turns up in one piece. -michael
  2. boat shop maybe?
  3. isnt that black silicon type stuff that seals the tail light to the body sikaflex?
  4. thanks for your help insu, ill check them out tomorrow. sorry topaz for hijacking -michael
  5. neways thanks for everyones feedback, all sorted. When ive gotten around to turboing my baby the insuance will go up im sure. -michael
  6. i told hbf that i had an airflow converter and they said it was ok. I'm insuring as me as the main driver and the policy will be under my mums name (to get some hbf discount or something).
  7. well i think im going to go with HBF they seem happy with what im doing to the car. They seem alot cheaper aswell, $1071 yr. Has anyone had a problem with HBF? The guy at shannons i talked to on the phone said when your 21 come see us and it will be alot cheaper so thats what ill do.
  8. yeah i got a quote with just cars $1600 a year excess is ridiculous though, ill shop around a bit more, Mike what’s your excess like?
  9. I wonder why they quoted me soo much then, its my age I bet. It really sucks that people like me who are enthusiasts and respect their car, have to be penalised because some dick decides to do a burnout and run into a tree. The only reason why I want full comprehensive insurance is that I don’t trust the drivers on the road.
  10. They said in gives the car too much power....haha, I wonder what they would of said when I bolt a turbo on. The people I talked to didn’t even have a clue what it was to start with I explained it to them then this lady put me on hold for 15 min and came back saying we are going to cancel your policy. Is SAFC II illegal or something, I can’t find it stated anywhere on the licensing website
  11. Well, SGIO just gave me the flick because for being honest. I called them today to do the right thing and let them know what modifications I've done to the car. Well all of them were fine until I mentioned that I had SAFCII, I was then told that they were canceling my policy within the next 7 days. My previous car was insured by them and they had no problem changing over my policy when I changed my car to a R33 Skyline GTS, when I made the policy for my first car I was told that I was allowed unlimited modifications so long as they were legal and listed. I’m so pissed off, getting full comprehensive insurance and a decent price being 19 is very hard. They gave me insurance for $2021 a year and $300 claim the policy was under my mums name and I was the main driver. I called Shannons and they will insure me for $4,500 a year. I don't want to have 3rd party because I'm still paying off my car and if anything were to happen to it, it would be money down the drain. Now I’m stuck with the stress of looking of finding insurance. Can anyone can suggest an insurance company that will insure me for roughly the same or less. -michael
  12. car has done roughly 117000km oil im not entirely sure about, got my mechanic to change it last time, i think its shell synthetic possibly 5W-40?? (it was changed about a month ago and still looks really clean could you suggest an oil i should use -michael
  13. yeh I had a leaky tail light (water would fill up in the indicator), i tried sealing it but that didn’t work so i ended up drilling a hole (closest to the boot) in the bottom. Haven’t had water in the boot since. I wasn’t too keen on drilling a hole either, but then again i wasn’t too keen in having water in the boot which would eventually lead to a rusty boot. As for the inside of the light getting dust and dirt haven’t had any problems. The indicator was slightly water damaged in the first place (slightly darker) but it’s hardly noticeable. -michael
  14. Sorry to hijack the topic topaz, I get a ticking noise in the morning or when the car is cold, the ticking increases with revs (mainly around the 2000rpm-3000rpm) after 3000rpm it cant be heard. Once the car has warmed up the noise dissapears. I was wondering if anyone can suggest a way of fixing it, it drives me nuts. My car is a R33 GTS, i was wondering if it could be just the injectors or the lifters (or a broken lifter). -cheers, michael
  15. what grinds my gears: people who don't indicate, tailgate, people doing things when driving for example talking on their mobiles, 4wds I mean why does every mum have to have one some may say you can tell how yuppie an area is by counting the number of 4wd shopping trolley’s in the car park, I guess this can all be classified under bad drivers. I also agree with shmiddy, very well said and straight to the point haha! -michael
  16. Just a few pictures that I took of the day, great fun, look forward to the next cruise. I did reduce the size of them alot to try and help out the people with slower connections. Cheers, -michael87
