  1. lol regency are gonna have a field day with me, im trying to get through with A LOT of aftermarket/custom shit
  2. fair enough, just to clarify, we have coilovers standard, so they cant be illegal. the illegal part is height adjustment, now what ive been told is that what clarifies as height adjustment is when the height can be altered without adding or subtracting parts from the suspension, although id imagine the interpretation would extend to not being able to adjust the height without pulling them apart. im going to try and get through with my combo (bilstein/eibach), we'll see how it goes, ill be slipping a non threaded seat on top of the threaded sleeve, this will make it technically legal as u would have to pull the suspension apart and take parts out to adjust the height, even though theres a adjustable sleeve on it, its useless.
  3. i think ur find most suspension has dampers in them
  4. because they are cheap crap lol ok as street wheels, but for the track with higher stress/grip/heat levels i wouldnt trust them
  5. lol going from ohlins to kingies. afaik the main difference in springs is how they sag and change over time, as far as comfort for roads, thats more to do with the spring rate u choose.
  6. forgot about these things, anyways, up she goes, just taking up room on my shelves

  8. oh i get ya now, u can do it, it wont make u crash and burn, but it will make the rear end feel a bit faint. why?
  9. lol i remember me and my old man tried to go through the HJ's drive through out on main north with a territory and trailer with my car on it, yes the boat trailer was one of the tightest drive thrus id been through, was fun trying to get through lol
  10. boxters are pretty shit, it would have basically been a race of the retards, boxter and GTS, the 2 bottom level sports cars from each manufacturer. even so the boxter would have left him for dead if a: the driver actually tried b: the driver wasnt an old mid life idiot who couldnt drive fast to save his life did the engine hesitate or anything?
  11. ^^agreed with most of that
  12. i didnt get my shit engineered cos i didnt need to, it was legal, and i still got defected for it. u know how much $$ i spent on my car to legally mod my car only to get slapped in the face and told its all illegal by some police officer whos probably never seen a dipstick in his life (besides when hes looking in the mirror)
  13. yeh not as simple as that.
  14. exactly, we brought this on ourselves.
  15. fixed. majority of cars on the road arent 100% roadworthy, modifications are easy targets, but they are only half or more like a very small fraction of the story when it comes to defects. defects are apparently designed to take unsafe cars off the road, but for years and probably decades their main use has been providing a tool for officers to crack down on who ever they want to. what's a BOV every now and then to the worn bushes, rusted rails, fluid leaks, bent arms, worn tyres etc etc (i could go on) that are found in most cars on the road. ive even had a police offer perform an illegal move, come close to causing an accident, speed and weave in and out of traffic without using their indicator (all without lights or siren), just to pull me over as they suspected i had a BOV (i didnt).
  16. and that drag racing is gay lol
  17. so the story is, ill go out to a drift praccy, and at the start of a night ill be able to feather 3rd around a certain corner, but by the end of the night on the same corner with the same tyres (or close enough), ill have to kick the f**k out of the clutch just to keep it going. i also seem to notice a point in each session where i notice a bit of dullness in acceleration from what im used to, this makes me think the loss of power happens fairly quickly, but i wouldnt rule it out happening over a period of time. things to know are: RB20DET RB25 turbo (still running heat shield) split dump with screamer FMIC pod with home made heatshield 040 pump no apparent overheating (according to standard gauge lol) remapped ECU around 12psi from a pneumatic controller everything else engine wise is standard. so whats everyones thoughts?
  18. correct.
  19. that's a defect, simple as that.
  20. good to hear. i think what he is saying they occur, not that they get pinched for them.
  21. perfectly put, agree 100%
