DRIV3R, i had my first 31 for 6 years and spend endless amounts of money on it..first one in SA with an rb25det i believe...still regret selling it to this day. Best car ever. Then i recently just bought another silhouette!

I spoke to Martin Donnon when i went to willall today and im getting my car tuned tomorrow arvo. The reason i went there was im very interested to see what sort of attitude and techniques some of the best known tuners have towards the same car. I'm happy with the tune from Jeff but im curious as to whether it can be done better and have different opinions of what the tune is like. Ill keep you all posted with what sort of feedback i get.

The way i see it.... any car no matter what it is...from a s1 rx7, stanza, 120y, ke10 corolla, R31, R32, R33, R34, whatever it may be. If it Hauls arse, anyone will admit they have respect for it no matter how ugly it is. Jeremy Clarkson said it very well..... 'You know the skyline could be a rancid pork chop, But they put so much sauce on it you'd never know, Silicon has turned something flat into a rumbustious, playful double D.' Which in other words, picture any skyline without any 4wd, twin turbos, this that n the other...you probably wouldn't even bat an eye lid at it. i guess what im trying to say is, Looks is only skin deep. An R33 is like having a fat missus, they are usually the best ones behind closed doors lol.

Hey kisin, being 28 spline and borg warner i believe the EA-EF XR6 LSD centre is a straight fit. I looked into this years ago but ended up welding up several diffs and eventually wackin a minispool in. If you hit up the 31 forums im sure there is some info on the xr6 LSD centre, PM DVSR31 and ask him as i believe he did this a few years ago. OR you can have the LSD out of my silo and ill have your open wheeler for small cash bonus my way if you want ) what turbo are you thinking of using craig? There's heaps of topics in the forced induction thread about this so have a sus mate. True, but there's a few that have lasted that are unopened...Mafia on these forums has had an unopened rb25det for quite some time pushing on 300rwkw....but as the saying goes, its all in the tune. The most common failures on rb25's is the ring lands (mainly on no6) but once again that comes down to the tune. Being a higher compression motor its very wise to change the headgasket to a metal one i think 1.1mm thick (dont quote me on that).

yea in alot of instances (not all of them) cam's aren't worth the money for a streeter... My mate lashed out 1600 bux for the Jun cam's which apparently are one of the best and to be honest it would have made very simular power with the stock rb20 cam's which are pretty good already. However im sure on a 600kw rb26 they would make a world of difference.

33 GTR rims look good on anything....tuff ceffy

The rb20 we built with Jun cams had ACGs but we found it didnt change anything below 6 grand.

Pete, as i said previously, ive fitted cam gears to a mates 26 previously, widened the torque ban quite surprisingly....obviously its wise to fit your N1 water pump and new timing belt at the same time, so if you want a hand or any help dont hesitate Pete. Ill try searchin through the dyno PC tomorrow and find the before and after runs.

I didn't buy a R33 because of the looks..bought it because of the Engine and driveline....excellent cars for the money. It didn't have too much trouble keepin up with the GTR's in the hills either. I also bought a 33 because i like the underdog. 90% of R33's out there look gayer than two blokes rooting...I like it when i get comments like....'i dont like 33's but yours is phat' hehe. Having said that i like the look of an R33 GTR, Being the widest of the 3. I will get one very soon. R32 GTR = WIN
