my pager is top of the line, pager, remote start, turbo timer, internal siren, 4 point immobilizer, all these gizmos n shit. straight line coverage of 3km. definetly recommend. I will report it tomorrow, didn't think it was worth it but hey, if enough people report it then maybe they might take more notice. I live on delfin island with the car locked away under a carport majority of the time so im not stressed too much and the car's always in my sights at work anyways but you never know when they'll strike. alarm up people!! They obviously seen the light blinking and backed away, im spewin they didn't get the door open, pager woulda gone boonta and so would have I! Was in North Haven down at my missus house, so just beware! Im afraid if i get hold of these scumf*ks ill just keep kickin and wont stop...

yea hehe... its Ryan! yea was definetly a coil pack problem or spark gap. check your power steering fluid too man, i noticed the fluid bubbling around a bit...might be the pump cavitating, getting air in the system. i would have chatted a bit more but had to put a head back on.

-

-
yea....its the ball point tops on the hat things im talkin about.....if the shocks are stuffed how come they are stiff as f**k??
-
yea i think they are imported ones...not sure how to check...but they are very stiff.
-
nah, ive checked everything...you talkin about the nuts on the strut towers and the one on the control arms? what other bolts are there?

hey guys, Using the basic TIEN (height only adjustable) coilovers with pillow ball tops in them, Its been brought to my attention by a few people lately that they are noisy as hell. Everytime i go over a bump they make noisy clunking noises. It seems to be getting louder and louder...They are still very stiff, they aren't showing much sign of wear except for this...or is this normal for pillow ball tops? thanks guys

fair enough...you make valid points...i think i was just really pleased about my conversion. Was probably the best decision i made with cars. Going on personal experience id do it again in a flash. im not sure where you get the stronger bottom end part tho....

manaul cross member will bolt up to auto studs, only two of them tho, oooooooo dodgy you say, try 5 years of just two bolts holding with coilovers, never ever ever flexed ever. i can fabricate an rb25det crossmember if you like, done it before..its easy. im a fitter and turner by trade so if you need a hand with that one just let me know. once again can't emphasis, 10psi, standard turbo, standard computer, fmic, exhaust 200rwkw and a dick load torquer. mate just spent 3 grand hybrid t3,t4, microtech, gtr injectors, fuel reg, fuel pump, tuning, this that and the other and only made 223rwkw with a rb20. My standard 33 with 207rwkw leaves it behind because of 20 lag. I wouldn't reccomend, nor would i be bothered writing all this shit if i wasn't certain about the rb25 and hey if you want 270-280rwkw later on, do it, with standard internals!...tested and proven. 170% ive got nothing against rb20s and if you go for this option then good choice none the less, but make the right decision. and yes Joel and browny both opted for rb25 in their 31's like me!
-
think about it...for 10psi, fmic, and a zorst you come close to 200rwkw with a rb25det. By the sounds of things your on a budget so you wont be lookin at too much boost in the near future so why bother changing the head gasket...Its not a big deal to pull the head off and wack a new head gasket while its in the car later on. i can't emphasis how much i KAINed the crap outta my first rb25det...for 4 years it had a consistant 200-205rwkw. never missed a beat. ever! stock head gasket. Im not sayin it not necessary. im not trying to sound negative just trying to save ya time and money

i daily thrashed my rb25det....it was fine on fuel. I was hummin and harrin when i did my conversion...and dam am i glad i went for the 25...so much more bang for your buck...drove a few 31's with 20s in them and not as fun. 25's are great all round motors. younger, torquer and more responsive to mods etc. If i granny my 25 it gets around 450-475 outta a tank. no disrespect to 20's (great motor and all) but youll regret it.

hehe cheers man, i used to go down the port all the time, catch mulloway, bream all sorts....get anything?

i used a number of diffs...hehe. Maily consisted of auto R31 diffs with 3.899 gears with minispools. i did use a R31 pintara diff which has 4.11 gears but only 25 spline axels and not 28 like the skylines. There are alternatives like the ea-ef xr6 diff centres fit into the borg warner housing. The silhouette LSD's aren't the best but once rebuilt they are pretty good. i went though about 4 diffs in about 3 years, my driving style wasn't the most friendliest tho.
