To celebrate the new workshop JEM is offering SAU members & friends a second JEM Dyno Day! The date is not set yet as the workshop is still in the process of completion however same as the last Dyno Day, an official date (October - November) will be selected to suit all who preregister. 3. Spoke to CRD a few days ago and they too agreed that stock vs stock the 2JZ has a stronger bottom end and that they have built some 2JZ Supra's with 800HP at the wheels on standard internals and are daily drivers with no issue. When comparing Modified Vs Modified, CRD said that they will both cost almost the same to build and thats when the RB26 becomes the leader of the pack. The use of the 4WD system in the GTR is far more advanced than the Supra's RWD system therefore getting the power to the ground a lot better. However, with 80% more moving parts in the GTR's running gear also increases the probability of breaking something. The Supra's Getrag 6 spd gear box has been one of the worlds strongest gear boxes supporting 1000HP+ however once boost comes on, traction goes out the window. UPDATE Yesterday after work i was lucky enough to meet one of my friends cousins that owns an R32 GTR V-Spec II with extensive mods done by C&V Performance. I was talking to him for a while and he told me that with the stock internals he managed to get 280aw/kw and ran a constant low 11s at WSID. Now he has a full build with a single T51R making 500aw/kw! Stage 1 setup contained: Stock RB26DETT Stock injectors Stock FMIC Garrett 2560r 300Hp Turbos Z32 AFM Apexi PFC 3" Exhaust EBC Made 280aw/kw @ 17psi Ran low 11s @ WSID Build Cost: $8000 Stage 2 setup contained: RB 26/30 Build Forged internals HKS T51R 1000cc Injectors Haltech E11.V2 ECU Made 500aw/kw @ 24psi Ran 9.9 @ WSID on street trim Build Cost: $35000! He took me for a drive in this machine and let me tell you... THIS GTR HAULS LIKE AN F22 FIGHTER JET!

  5. Hey guys, Im looking to buy a cheap laptop/notebook preferably brand new. Minimum Specs: 15"+ AMD 64 x 2/Intel Dual 2 Core Processor (2Ghz +) 2GB+ RAM 120+ GB HDD DVD Burner WLAN b/g PM me
  6. Your reply would have to be the most honest so far. I am going to talk to a few supra owners as well as some tuning shops to see what they cost to reach the 500HP mark. I will also test drive a couple of worked GTR's for comparison. If a stock '01 Supra is going to cost me near $40G's whats another 8 - 10G's for an R34 GTR? I have yet to see a supra own a GTR off the lights Thanks
  7. I totally understand where your coming from however i am comparing Straight 6 TT Vs Straight 6 TT From all that i have read up, it seems the 2JZ are far more stronger than the RB26 (Stock Vs Stock) However when you compared Modified Vs Modified it seems the RB26 is superior but also costs a hell of a lot more too. My dream car is most certainly an R34 GTR and if I had the cash i'd have one in my garage now however value for money as in $$$ = Power, Looks and Package the Supra seems to be more favorable.
  8. So therefore a Supra TT would be on par with an R34 GTR? This means the Supra TT is better value for money... $25,000 Vs $45,000 Is this right?
  9. Here is an interesting comparison.. Looks like RB26 is truly Race Bread!
  10. Interesting read... My main aim for the car is 90% road and 10% Drag strip (no drift or circut) I have spoken to a few tuners and they all said "Nissan build the best 4cyl and Toyota build the best 6cyl" Whether I get a GTR or a Supra im just going to do all the bolt on mods to geting going fast. I have seen some 2JZ's with the HKS T04Z and they are pumping 500+ rw/hp on stock internals! Now i have yet to hear of a stock RB26 with a T04Z even coming close to that... Have any of you? That black Supra THNKB4 was tuned by Adam at J.E.M and i have seen this thing on the dyno and it is an animal http://justenginemanagement.com/Michaels_supra.html Yet another animal Supra: http://justenginemanagement.com/finkb4.html Then again... this looks like sex on wheels too! http://justenginemanagement.com/wild_gtr.html So damn hard to choose... i think the best way is to take my time... not to rush.. when I find that Supra/GTR that wins me over... ill just buy it!
  11. Thanks for your input guys... Im not saying i didnt enjoy driving the GTR, i loved it however on the straight line the supra had more balls... on the corners the GTR stuck like glue! Looks wise, the supra is alot more modern in shape and its interior is more eye appealing compared to the R32 GTR. I might just take a couple more for a drive before i make up my mind. But out of the two which one is cheaper to modify and gain same power?
  12. Hey guys, I am currently in the market for a weekend toy. Being a Nissan enthusiest, I began searching around for an R32 GTR Skyline. The other day I got the chance to drive a lightly modified 2JZ Supra and all I can say is OH MY GOD! It was quicker than any GTR i have driven and the torque was amazing. I have read up a few "GTR Vs Supra" articles however I cant seem to make up my mind. Basically which ever I buy, I'd spend approx $10,000 on performance with stock internals. So far this what I have gathered: GTR (RB26DETT) - Higher reving engine - More responsive than Stock 2JZ - Stock Internals are good for approx 500HP - Very strong running gear - 4WD = Better traction - Expensive to modify and maintian Supra (2JZ) - 3L engine = more torque - Stock internals are good for approx 800HP - RWD = poor traction - Gains much more power than RB26 with less money So please feel free to share your knowledge and oppinions. Which woud you go for and why?
