  2. It's completely stock mechanically and externally. Looks pretty tidy though.
  3. A previous owner installed a TV tuner and had it wired up to the factory screen in the dash. They've also got a media selector thingy in the centre console and it has a bluetooth module and also USB cables (presumably I can plug in a USB device and play movies or songs, but I haven't tried). The bluetooth module has a button on it which turns it on/off. Once on it will automatically turn on when the car turns on, so only need to do that once. I paired my phone with the bluetooth, then went into the screen and selected TV and then VCR (or is it VTR?). Had to select that a few times but then I was able to play audio on my phone and it came through the car speakers. I assume that phone calls would do the same but haven't tried yet. I couldn't see any microphone anywhere so not sure if it just relies on the phone's microphone. It's not ideal though. For one, I need to pair the bluetooth every time I get in the car. With my previous car it happened automatically. I also cannot skip tracks over bluetooth - I have to do it directly on my phone. Plus there's no pick up/hang up button on the dash etc for answering calls. These were all things my $50 stereo in my corolla did. So while I'm stoked that I can at least play songs from spotify over the car speakers, it's kind of "just enough".
  4. Some of the longer term members on here might remember me... I've owned 3 Stageas before (one at a time) and just bought my 4th last night! Each time in the past I eventually needed to sell for some reason but then circumstances change and I keep coming back. Also the prices of stageas keep dropping (bad for owners, great for buyers) and I couldn't think of another car that provided the same value for money. So in the past I owned a s2 then a M35 then back to a s2 a year or two later. I sold the last one about 5 years ago. My new one is a 2002 250RX FOUR, with dual sunroofs, silver exterior, beige leather interior, electric + heated seats, indicators on mirrors, and the popup screen has english conversion + TV tuner + bluetooth etc. The bluetooth audio is a life-saver because I use spotify on my phone and the car cd player is crap. Bluetooth is clear, doesn't skip, and it also works for phone calls and google maps navigation - plus the phone will turn the music down automatically so you can hear the navigation audio. So glad it's all installed and working I've already been searching for info on here regarding bits and pieces I'm not familiar with, for example getting the bluetooth working. Everything else seems to be in order. I don't plan to modify this one (famous last words lol) but will probably continue to lurk here from time to time

  10. Price drop - $12,400. Lowest price in SA for a S2 with DAYZ body kit!
  11. No idea. I'd have to have a closer look at it. for sure. just need someone to buy my stagea
  12. I could have probably gone with the E51 for a couple grand extra but we were already stretching our budget to get one in SA. I'm not a huge fan of the look of the E51. They look more like a courier van than the E50, but that's just my opinion. They certainly have a lot more and some nicer features and yes the newer technology is a plus too. The dash looks a bit space-age to me too...but again, fairly subjective. I did have a budget to stick to and in the end I think we got exactly what we were after So much car for the money! Our E50 also has twin tips out the back, making it look very tidy and it sounds pretty nice too. Very happy with the car - its in very good condition and is exactly what I was looking for - more space for us and the kids and it is just fantastic to drive it. It is a bit bouncier and can roll a bit on corners - as expected due to its higher centre of gravity and extra weight (it weighs 2T). Still, it feels pretty solid, and the VQ35DE is very responsive and delivers lots of torque! The elgrand wont break any land speed records, but for a van it goes pretty well. Highly recommended for anyone needing more seats/space. btw, the Stagea is for sale now. Click here for more details...
  13. Our Nissan Stagea is now for sale. Its a 2000 model (C34 series 2), AWD, NEO engine (206kw/333Nm), turbo. - 120,000km - Factory DAYZ body kit - looks much nicer than standard body kit. - We are the only owners in Australia. - Imported in 2011 - bought from a dealer in Feb 2011. - Tires were new in Feb 2011, have done ~14000km since then. - I have copies of the auction papers, kms are genuine. - Body is in immaculate condition, with the exception of a small scratch on the rear bumper (left corner). - Interior is in very good condition. - Has original shopping cover and cargo net. - It is unmodified except for a manual (turbotech) boost controller, which can be returned to stock if needed. It is currently set at about 8 psi and has never been boosted above this. The car has been very reliable. We have only had to replace the battery, and it now has a maintenance free battery that was fitted in Nov 2011. Selling because we have bought a Nissan Elgrand. See photos below: Advertised for $13900. However I'm happy to discount it for forum members. Make a (reasonable) offer.
  14. Yeah that's the word I've been hearing everywhere about the diesels. The VQ35 is pretty awesome though. I found it drives like a normal car, except for the higher centre of gravity. Takes a bit of getting used to, going round corners. It does have a very tight turning circle if you want but also can be a bit touchy on the accelerator when you're not used to it...kept feeling like I could roll it if not careful In the end I decided to play it safe and have put a deposit on one at sinergy motorsports here in adelaide. No registration hassles, and the price was as good as anywhere else. If you factor in the extra cost and hassle of rego changeover from purchasing interstate, I think we did ok. The one we got is a 2002 silver E50 with VQ35DE (2WD). I love that the E50 VQ35 is cable driven, so no "I know better than you" ECU smarts getting in the way. drive-by-wire probably delivers fuel economy benefits but after the M35 stagea I'm not convinced its a good idea. All up the drive is fantastic. Ours has an aftermarket exhaust (fitted in japan), which is very quiet when cruising but sounds awesome at idle. Not overpowering at all. I'm not a fan of loud exhausts, but this one really improved the car. I pick it up next week - will post pics here when I get it
  15. changed my mind and decided to look at the petrol (VQ35DE) instead. Couldn't find a diesel in good condition, and there are not many around. VQ35DE is undoubtedly the best engine, most reliable, and most powerful. Just a bit costlier on fuel. But with the price of diesel going up, I'm thinking petrol might not be so bad.
  16. Got links? I cant find them on carsales, autotrader, gumtree or ebay? unless they're all petrol models.
  17. and very expensive for this model. not even slightly interested in the earlier models anyway.
