  1. Some of our roads in Australia are half-decent when compared to the surface of the moon.. We do have some good roads though, but most of them are maintained by either the state or federal government. A lot of the sub main roads under council jurisdiction are pretty poor. It would be fair enough to have dodgy roads in a remote region like Kakadu but when you have well-travelled roads looking like a minefield whilst we pay a fortune in rego/fines/rates//taxes it sucks. I'd rather drive on european roads- I hear they are a fair bit better. My 2c
  2. It's probably PMR-1. I think the bloke runs a business at Terrigal. He used to drive a silver 350Z. Unfortunate if so that was a nice vehicle.. Used to get waves from him.
  3. From first hand experience I just reached 150rwkw after ECU re-map with Hybrid FMIC, Pod, GFB plumb-back, turbo-back 3inch exhaust (including new dump pipe) and Walbro fuel pump. Was running 12psi. I reckon a high flow RB25 turbo or similar + injectors & upgraded ECU or SAFC would see 170-200rwkw + easily. From previous posts maybe I need a better tune (or higher reading dyno ). Considering 160fwkw is stock power, I am unsure if you are going to make another 30-40fwkw with just a cooler + boost. Your list above looks fine- good luck with it.
  4. I think no matter where you go on the roads these days, dangerous bogans drive all sorts of cars- not just commodores & falcons. A lot of idiots drive imports too. This reminds me- my previous next-door neighbour who owned a VX exec used to call my R32 a "milk bottle" (get it- milk only comes in 2 litres lol ) until I took him for a bit of a spin. He soon realised that I would own him... Then he respected my car. A lot of this mentality stems from ignorance from both sides. I personally respect any well-maintained, tastefully modded car regardless of it's make or model. People just need to learn that the road is not a racetrack, and that dangerous driving just makes you look like a knobhead regardless of what you are driving.
  5. My mate has a N/A targa 4 seater Z32. Power-wise (stock-for-stock) it would easily outdo an RB25DE R32. It pretty much kept up with my car when it was un-modded. Granted the engine may be a pain to work on, but for outright speed + interior go the 300... unless pricing is a concern then go the 32.
  6. Can't go past the Turbotech as Satanic suggested. Great little product for cheap as.
  7. G'Day Can't say I've owned either of those specific cars but my mate had an S13 SR20DE and I currently have an R32 GTST. The build quality of the Skyline of the same era seems to be a bit better in most cases than the Silvia. Just take a look at the interior of the Silvia Q and compare with a Skyline of the same vintage. The Silvia my friend owned also had quite a lot of mechanical/electrical issues for a non-turbo import. The Skyline is a lot faster than the non-turbo Silvia too- there's the major advantage. Only drawback is the extra petrol expenses and maintenance, turbo parts etc. Can't really fault the Skyline if you come across a clean example- they generally won't give you much trouble. A GTST just feels like a much better car, more stable/better built etc. Regards Paul
  8. Got my 32 GTST insured with them for $2200. A bit pricey but I know it will steadily go down as I build my NCB (currently 30% I think) and as the birthdays roll by. I'm 20 currently, with no accidents or convictions. The good thing is the offer unlimited mods- as long as they are roadworthy under the premium charged. They usually match or better the online quote so if you got a good quote I'd give them a go. Plus you have the security of the underwriting by AAMI, whether or not that's a good thing I am yet to find out. Paul
  9. Fair enough. They can be a bit pricey. Maybe Young and Cool? Paul
  10. I'm pretty sure Just Car does em.. Correct me if I'm wrong. Paul
  11. Dunno mate.. From memory he wasn't that old- think he was a bogan in training. He had a bloody temper that's for sure! Must've blown his pension on the pokies
  12. G'Day, I bought my 32 GTST from them, they are generally great to deal with and only sell quality cars (as above). Have had no problems with my car to date, bought it around 6 months ago. They did me a good deal too. They are definately worth a look.
  13. I was trying to cross a pedestrian crossing yesterday near home when a bogan in a rusty green VK (complete with steelies on the back) came flying down the road going about 80 in a 50 zone & straight through the crossing while I was on it. I pointed at the crossing and he started screaming abuse out his window... F this F that.. seemed like a very articulate gentleman. Then he pulls up and as I am walking past tries to fight me and my friend lol.. That'll teach me to be a bloody pedestrian! He had a classy hairdo + the obligatory singlet. We called him a bogan and gave him a serve which he didn't like- so he yelled more abuse then did a big burnout to further confirm his bogan-ness. We were almost in tears. Paul
  14. I installed 1 of these on my R32 GTST a few weeks back, works fine- set it to run 11psi. Can't see anything wrong with Krush's install there though?? The only difference in my install was that I had the controller plumbed in a lot closer to the actuator. Shouldn't make a difference though. I did find with mine that it has to be pretty much open to run 11 pounds. Best way to adjust it I found was to start with it fully open then fine tune it gradually. Takes a little while tho. It is worth looking at though... I received it within about 3 working days. No spiking, holds the boost well and generally spools a lot faster. I'll post up a pic of my install in a few days time. Paul
  15. The Response amps are certainly excellent value for money in the bang-for-buck stakes. I ran 2 4x100 amps in my previous car (a Corolla hatch). Never had any problems with them. Entered my car in an SPL comp using 2 Jaycar Venom 12" subs in a 4th order bandpass box running off 1 of these amps (bridged 2 ch each) and got a reading of 143.5 dB. However this was with an upgraded battery, and some heavy-duty cables. Quality-wise, the Jaycar speakers ain't too shabby, but there are many better brands. You can't go past the amps though, they are pretty much indestructible if set up correctly. The thing I like about them is that on the box they quote power figures in RMS, rather than the airy-fairy claims of certain other brands that quote MAX power. Paul
  16. Hey all, this is my first post... I purchased my 32 GTST from Japlink and found them great to deal with. It had 89k on the clock, but regardless if these were genuine or not it was still in pristine condition both inside + out. As with QRI05E I had an inspection done, and it scored in the high 90's with only 1 or 2 minor probs (which they rectified). I've had it for about 6 mths with no problems whatsoever. Can't fault the service either. Most of the Parra Rd dealers do tend to pressue the buyer a little though... I'd look around a bit. But I would reccomend having a look at Japlink. Paul
