Heya all, Still got clutch troubles. It's still losing fluid. I've had the master and slave cylinder seals checked for leaks, and the system bleeded, and it still seems to be losing fluid. Slowly, but surely. I think it might be from under the fluid reservoir, at the front. There's a pipe that leads out from the front of the cylinder, and there seemed to be a bit of fluid surrounding the nut that connects the pipe to the cylinder. I'm not too sure tho, as I checked it at night. Gears are starting to feel a little notchy again, and I want to hopefully resolve the problem while the car's still driveable. Any help is greatly appreciated. Feel free to e-mail me on [email protected] or reply to this topic. Thanks, Adrian.

Heya all, My 32 is potentially showing more problems... Just noticed my Apexi pen-style turbo timer is showing fuel ratios around the 10 mark on full boost. Is that ok, are am I facing detonation? Only mods to the car are a 3" catback exhaust, blow off and sports filter insert. On idle, the ratio sits around the 14.5 mark, and when I gear down it gets as high as 18-19. Any help or comments are greatly appreciated. B) Thanks, Adrian.

Nah, you were right before, it was the clutch pedal. Needed to be adjusted. Checked the clutch system, no leaks. Thanks for your help tho! In other news, my HICAS light came on the other day, when it was around 45 degrees! Off now, but a bit of a worry. I was racing it a bit tho

Police Powers And Your Rights

Howdy all, I'm back. Should get onto this topic again soon. Busy as all hell tho. The good news is, I'm working for a Victorian firm, so I should be able to tell you a whole lot more about civil rights and proper police procedure in Vic and NSW as it becomes available to me. My 32 is packing up too, so if you guys wouldnt mind, HELP ME OUT! Clutch pedal barely has any resistance, and gears are VERY notchy. I topped up clutch fluid, but still no improvement. A little off topic, but anyway... -
Hey fellas, I'm back in the place to be! Sorry about my delay, wasn't able to get to a computer for a while. My 32's gearbox is packed up. The clutch reservoir was bone dry, and I wasn't able to engage gear. I topped it up, and now I can select gears, but its very notchy and hesitant. Any ideas? Other than that, the 32 is going strong.

Heya all, Just letting the world know I got my 32 today, and it is the BOMB! Still feels like it isn't real, the reality that it's mine has not sunk in yet I should have bought myself one of these puppies ages ago...

I think I remember reading somewhere in the RTA reports that you can drop 2" on standard ride height, that might be the go. The problem is, as soon as you put big wheels on a car, it looks like a truck on stock springs. So you either have to use smaller wheels, have it looking like an off-roader, or have it defectably low.
-
Yeah, my turn around time is normally only a week. I think if the total value of the gear you bring in is over a certain amount, you'll have to pay tax on it. But it still works out cheaper than buying from most anyone else.

Yeah, I've bought a fair few things from them, not a problem yet. Thanks.

Focus fellas, this is NOT meant to be an arena for combat between supporters and critics of police, rather an outline of police power and rights of drivers. -

Sorry boys and girls, I'm arranging all my gear for shifting off to Mildura, so I won't be able to watch this post like I should. I agree with the earlier comment that I should turn this into a 'what are your rights when you get pulled over', because that seems to be the recurring problem. We have heard some harrowing and sobering police accounts though, and I think that unfortunately, a decent grasp of the law is not going to help many of you. It seems the problem is worse than I first imagined. The scenarios that many of you have brought to my attention are improper and illegal, and warrant some serious reconsideration of police powers nationwide. -
I think Z Imports have one. They're right up at the back.

R32 Gtr Drivers Seat $250ono
Johnny Cash replied to Antimatter's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
OK, well I'm moving to mildura next month, and then I'll be keen to snap it up. Not sure how I'll arrange to get it, but we'll work something out if you still have it by then. It's about a 5 hour drive. Anyway, you'll probably sell it by then - but if not, we'll work something out. Thanks. -

Heya, whereabouts in Vic are you? Very keen on the seat! -
Yep, I tried to grab one myself, these things are impossible to find! Not that I work for the man or anything, but try Slidewize Imports, he was able to get me an FRP one delivered from Japan to my door for $200. Not bad at all, considering it's new.

Police Powers And Your Rights

Good to see some police involvement on this thread, and I agree with you 100% that police discretion can work in a drivers favour, but for motoring enthusiasts, this not unfortunately the norm. As for defects of EPA issues, you have to bear in mind that many of these cars are well built and tuned, lots of money invested into their proper operation and smooth power delivery. There are some people out there who modify their cars poorly, drive like maniacs, or use inadequate parts, and they rightfully should be defected or otherwise pursued. Furthermore, there are people driving in the wet on tyres that could be best described as slicks, and brakes that don't brake anymore. Defect these people and you won't catch me, or any man of good sense, complaining. However, it is these cars that often fail to attract police attention, despite conversely being much more unroadworthy and in contravention of EPA legislation. However, their lack of attention let's them slip under the radar, so to speak. So, that's mainly where I see the Skyline community, and to a more general extent, the WHOLE car communities, beef coming from. That, and while someone's getting defected for something stupid like an atmospheric blow-off-valve or pod filter, there are real criminals lurking about free of pursuit. That really gets under our skin This all said, I think it's the best turn in this thread yet, because if (and I think it's possible) police and motoring enthusiasts can co-operate rather than 'bang heads', I think we can all go a lot further. Such a turn will require a change in mentality from both sides, and I thank you for your input. Keep up the good work! -

If it comes with everything I need to install (e.g. factory wiring harness, instruction manual, etc), I'll take it for $300 delivered to Adelaide, 5012. If not, good luck with the sale. -
Police Powers And Your Rights

What I would like to do, is for everyone who gets pulled over and harassed by police to make a formal complaint. Then chase it up two weeks later or so to see what happened, and try to get some formal written documentation from the police regarding the complaint and how it was handled or resolved. The first hundred or so times we do this, it might not make too much of a difference. The thousandth time, people might start to twig. And once we flood offices with formal complaints, the pile will rise so high it will choke the whole ****** lot of em, and then something might happen. If we ALL stay persistant, don't give up, and actively pursue this matter, we can make a difference. But we ALL have to be united on this front - not just Skylines forum, but all car forums, 4cyl, 6cyl, V8s, turbos, N/As, Rotaries, whatever. And magistrates will come to eventually see a string of formal complaints being made against certain officers, and then they'll lose clout. ...but I don't doubt for a second that something can be done about all this. Gonna take a while, but it's not like we're going anywhere! And it's unfortunately not going to go away if we ignore it. -
How do you guys afford such nice cars?!

Yeah, bit off-topic, but Canada does have similar laws to Australia. Better, if you ask me! ...and yep, fast and furious DID ruin it for all of us! -
Well, for the fine to be official, it would have to be signed by the issuing officer. But in the case where they forget to, they could simply re-issue another notice with the correction. Unfortunately, you would not be able to refuse paying the fine because of a failure on the issuing officer's part to sign it. Sorry for the bad news, especially at this (otherwise) festive time of year. Bad things happen to good people, and providing the fine isn't too expensive, it might be worth saving the hassle of arguing such a technicality. The reality is, it's an administrative error, rather than an error in law, and would be quickly resolved. So, for what it's worth, you could refuse to pay it based on it not being signed, but then they would simply re-issue a notice that IS signed, and you'd have to pay it anyway. Might as well get it out of the way... As I said in my disclaimer from the original thread, I don't guarantee ANY of this information, because I don't want to get sued if anyone relies on it to their detriment. But seeing as it's free of charge, you're welcome to it.

Found one on eBay, guy was asking $350 plus freight. eBay item number is 4597524733. Didn't have any luck, and I was thinking of offering him $250 including freight. What do you guys think? Feel free to PM regarding this topic.

Well, the only ARC SMIC's I've found so far (used) are lurking around the $400 mark, which I think is neither here nor there. Considering I can get one of those Hybrid FMIC's (new) for $500 with all piping, hoses and clamps, I don't think it's a good price. I was thinking of offering something in the 200-250 region, including freight. In any event, definitely NOT any more than 300 all up. Thanks for all your help, guys.
