  1. FYI guys i think i might go for the old tyre blackener over the strips followed by some mothers back to black. Reason is the seals are very hard and a little bit cracked but still not about to fall apart. Also when it rains they turn almost black again indicating that they have the capacity to become damp and hold onto water...ie, the rubbers still got life.
  2. hehe, nice one mate. Well said, for me a 33 was just not an option, it had to be 32. Plus i like the taking care of my car that needs to be done more so with 32's due to the age factor. Don't mean to spark a debate on that, but a DIY on a window seal that could potentially cost me a hard earned $250 is right up my alley.
  3. here's another pic as you can se it starts from in front of the rear quarter window and goes down to just behind the side rear vision mirror. Probably about 1.5 metres in length, 1.5cm wide and 1-2mm thick. And nissan want $250 from me for this apparently...riiigghhttt I sense Do It Yourself.
  4. hey guys, i have a r32 and once again i'm bitchin about the weather strips that go around the front side window. Mine look like shite. I've done some searchin and people recommend using things like maguiars back to black to make them black again. which is cool,i will try this when i get the time. But the thing is the weather strip is starten to discintegrate and probably needs replacing. The thing is i've read that it costs $250 from nissan to get this! WTF! its a strip of plastic! Now i can't make sense in the past searches that they're talkin about the seal on the inside of the window, or the weather strip on the outside. To me this weather strip on the outside seems like a DIY that you could get the rubber from Clark Rubber. Can anyone confirm that you can DIY this weather strip? $250 seems like abs crap. here's a picture of mine.
  5. hey guys need a stock airbox for 1990 r32 gtst from the sydney area anyone wanna sell?
  6. it's only a single plate clutch so what's this thrust bearing??? and why would it be making a noise when i'm stopped in neutral. DO you think this is a problem because the car drives fine otherwise?
  7. hey guys....got a minor prob (i think) with my 1990 r32 gtst i noticed recently (i think it's gotten a tiny bit more noticable over time), that since i changed my clutch there is a fairly high pitched rattling sound coming from the front end of the car at idle. But as soon as a press the clutch peddle down it goes away. I have also noticed that it goes away when i step on the clutch just slightlly (without actually making the clutch release yet, if u know what i mean) so to me it seems to be something to do with the pedal assembly. clutch works fine...just that this sound is pissin me off. anyone got ideas? thanx again
  8. thanx for the idea HR-32, might look into this one. They certainly do add to the front end look. Mine's got NISMO SPORTS and NISSAN (dunno if that's normal) written on it so it looks pretty sick when it's down.
  9. hey guys, i need your combined wisdom once again. I have a 1990 gtst r32 and it has the hydraulic front spoiler factoy option on it. The thing is the spoiler only allows you to lower it when the car is parked and the handbrake on (to clean it!?) or it comes down automatically at 70km/hr. I just wanna find out if there's a way of gaining control over when it comes down. Could an auto electrician do this? and which one i'm in the sydney area. Or because it must use a sensor to tell when the handbrakes on, could i just find that sensor and disconnect it. (there is two switches for up/down in the cabin but seing how it's automated they're almost useless right now) Anyone got an experience/ideas about this ??? I just wanna be able to control it cos it does look pretty hot when lowered. I'd post some pictures but my internet keeps timing out when i try. anyway thanx for any advice.
  10. good call R32R i'll fiddle around a bit sometime soon to see if it stops. In the mean time to be more specific it sounds more like errrrrrrrr perhaps a bearing or something. I'll check it out again and post here any development. anyone else with this experience??
  11. hey guys and/or girls it seems as though it's my turn to post my problems so here's another I have a 1990 r32 GTST and it makes a soft constant chirping noise coming from somewhere around the dash when i accelerate. It happens both while driving and at a stand still in neutral. SOunds like a cricket comes out to play when ever i accel. Now, i just had my air con "fixed" and they said to fix the problem that they bypass some sensor, and this rpob has bene happening sicne then. Thing is it happens even wiothout air con on. SO does anyone know the deal??? anyone had this before????
  12. ur probably right. they do look hornish. tho that electrical terminal thing looks stupid just hanging from my bumper....probably just needs to be moved somewhere else.
  13. hehe. Maybe! Those circular things are solid metal if that makes any difference, and they don't seem to be able to vibrate in anyway to make sound. Also why does the wire start at that thing at the bumper and end up at the circular disks????????????????
  14. hi guys. Does anyone know what this electrical thingy is that's attached to the front bumper of my r32 GTST. It then has a wire which leads off to two circular things shown in the attachment. The circle thingys are located between the bumper and the radiator. what are these? as i wanna chop em if they aint doin much just makes the front of the car look ugly cos there's that electrical thingy atached to the bumper and a wire that can be seen
  15. turbo gasket ay, how much do you reckon i can expect to pay to get that replaced? and can i just ignore the problem for a while if this is what it is...or should it be fixed immediately?
  16. Sorry to burden you all with my problems, but just this morning i noticed a fluid sound which sounded like it was coming from near the clutch pedal whilst i was reversing. It was mostly evident whilst i was riding the clutch reveersing slowly. (i know ishouldnt really ride the clutch), but then again i shouldn't hear fluids moving either! i have just had installed a HD PBR clutch anyone know what it is??
  17. thommo, your response sounds logical because yes it was slipping before i got the new clutch just wanna know if anyone else has had this problem because it seems like it could be very common??? esp in a 15 yr old car
  18. G'day people, I'm kinda new to skylines and turbos in general so any help would be appreciated. I have just had installed a new HD PBR clutch in my r32 gtst and upon driving it home have now noticed a high pitch but not overly loud noise that comes on above 3500 when accelerating. I have a K&N pod air filter and 3 inch turbo back exhaust. I can hear the usual wooosh of the intake but then at about 3500 it's sorta taken over by a bit of a half whistle half scream noise. When not in gear and i rev it...it sounds just fine, it's just when driving that it makes the sound. Also possibly, though not sure, it could be coming from the passenger side..(maybe) I have read other threads and can see that the likely culprits could be a) turbo about to go (Better @#$# not!) B) intake or intercooler piping crack c) BOV leak, (though its stock) d) It's related to gettin the new clutch Any wisdom on this matter would mean that your a champion! thnx jeremy
