Yes it is normal to have higher profile tyres on the front as the profile number on the tyre is a percentage of the tyre width, ie: 255/40 and 235/45. Tyre sizing is a mixed bag of measurements, youv'e got millimetres for width, percentage of tyre width for the profile and then to top it off inches for wheel diametre. Go figure...........
