  1. Well we'd be happy to join the sau crew for pre-drinks someplace. We probably won't make it to sci-fi till 10:30-11 though. Gotta save enough for the afterparty. (bouncey castle action!).
  2. Yah! You coming? Its a hundred at the door.
  3. Darren at Techniks is the only person to see. They're in Willetton. Yeah, he's decently priced.
  4. Awww, niz, no pre-party? Boostzor and I are dissapointed :-| We'll see ya there I'm sure. To quote adrian, it's going to get messsssy!
  5. carl h, depending on your power goal, it may well be. The stock rb25 one is fine for upto around 450hp at the engine. Skyrine-Dave, I found mine on eBay for $100USD.
  6. mark morris, there is a guy on the forums who sells hicas lock kits with new rose jointed arms. They go for ~$140 I think. Or you have the HICAS rack from my 33 for $50
  7. Yah, it's very large. Q45 on the left (80mm), stock on the right (60mm).
  8. Who's selling them in Australia cheap, T0nyGTSt?
  9. Why wait? Just bolt that stuff on and go for it. If it blows at least you had fun until it happened . I can't think of anything more boring to drive than a near stock 25t...
  10. Two sensors in the one dump pipe. And if you're worried yours are too old and may not be working, they cost around $80AUD each to replace, so not much of an outlay.
  11. Sorry dude, thats sold at this point. You could always modify the factory plenum I have for sale.
  12. Right you are too. Maybe the best combo for a non-vct rb30det is to mix and match - Apexi 260 8.9mm intake with HKS 264 9.0mm exhaust. Any comments on 250 vs 260 degree duration intake cam on an engine that revs to ~7000rpm?
  13. I've been looking at cams for a similar application. You're right in that we're limited for lift since they're for hydraulic lifters. I think we're down to HKS 256/256 or 256/264 at 8.8mm lift, or Apexi 250/250 or 250/260 or 260/260 at 8.9mm lift. I'm leaning towards Apexi 8.9mm of some duration for similar reasons as vspec - the lift. We won't need as high duration cams as vspec because we won't be reving anywhere near 8.5k.
  14. Yeah, tell me about it. Although to be fair, it went into the workshop in April (on the waiting list till then), so only 5 months (!) and still being built. Waiting for aesoteric parts was a large part of it.
  15. Finally, an opportunity for another update. In this one I show off how to fist a q45 throttle body and how cool engines can look sitting on an engine stand. (Note, 80mm q45 is still nowhere as big as vspec's gi-normous 100mm'er! But the q45 does fit the greddy plenum like a glove).
  16. Sorry, 'lower boost' is a bit misleading. I should have said 'lower pressure difference'. The flow bench measures by creating a vacum, so I don't really have any idea how it will perform under boost but we do have a good idea. My head porter follows the theory of making it flow as well as you can NA, then throw boost at it. You don't *need* to do anything special when boost is involved, but the extra effeciency makes the difference. It's sound in principle . Do you think the F1 teams didn't do the same thing back in the 80's?
  17. Had my valve springs measured and compared against rb26 springs when my head was being ported - there was 1/10th of f*ck all between them. If you'd said hydraulic vs solid lifters I might have said "maybe", but just look at the kind of revs steve can run RB25's to without needing to chage stuff like that. RB26 heads do have different flow characteristics, they are built for a high rev engine and outperform RB25 heads at very high revs. This didn't suit my build requirments (7000rpm rev limit) so I don't really consider it much of an advantage. At lower boost, my RB25 head is actually more effecient than a ported RB26 and will be better on the road for it.
  18. My first question would be - why? Apart from the obvious horn pleasure in saying you have a (fully sik) twin turbo, what is it that you want here? Certain model RB25 head's are known to flow *very* well. The benefits a RB26 head bring are negliglble compared to the dollar outlay. Your second problem is the need to do these things on the cheap. Change the head (and compression ratio a side effect) and hope to not to change the ecu? Good luck. My advice? Enjoy the car as is. Do basic exhaust/intake and suspension mods untill you finish high school and get a decent income. Then go all out on what you want without burdening your parents on frivolous bullshit you can't afford. I was like you once Mike, just pull your head out of the clouds
  19. And no point in a R33 or R34 because the battery is already in the boot. Yes, Japanese cars are always superior
  20. MoS might be a bit soon for me. Gotta give serotonin levels a chance to readjust
  21. Even though the main arena was way to hard for me, I had frickin good time. Haven't heard any of these dj's before but j00f is the man, all I remember about his set is it felt right. My first ever event and I'm hooked. Looking forward to Sci Fi in November. MoS sounds like its going to be even harder than GK - is it? rus, liz, dan was good to see you guys, and to meet you for the first time mel. Thought I ran into you guys in metros at some point but the crowd was flowing too fast to stop and talk. Where were you at adrian? Didn't see you anywhere.
  22. Hey melki, I'll see you there
  23. Adrian_perth, you're a champ! Thanks for the tix
  24. And its our fault. Next time you see a wanker in a line, tell him so! That includes you neon wearing pansies.
