just took my turbos off ....it is tight down there with the oil and water lines underneath. took the front pipe off and should have taken the dumps off too but thats pretty hard when the car is only on stands. ended up taking the manifolds out (had HKS steel gaskets)...out of topic...should i get aftermarket manifolds as the stock ones are out now...or should i get them extruded n honed??
not good to hear...some alarms do have that feature..where the central locking is activated after starting the car...why not just manually do it?? push the lock from inside
am going to be doing this in the next few days too....do you have to get under the car to do the bottom manifold nuts? or can be done from the top?. Changing from HKS to Greddy turbos...the oil/water lines are the same???

hi
was wondering used to have the feature of deleting for sale section the ads. When things are sold the delete button can be used to get rid of it.
Just wasting time i think on going through things that been sold and the owner not being able to delete it. Not sure if its still there i cant find it, if anyone knows please point it out to me thanks
ordered the intercooler hoses with the 45degree bend on them, might have to make alterations on the size of the holes for the AFM..then i can get it down on paper properly with right dimensions, then once thats done is deciding what material to use.
got slight problem with the second AFM not fitting under the top/lid of the box...so am getting a 45degree silicon bend instead of the straight silicon hose and hopefully it will go under the lid properly..can be seen in one of the pics where i left the hose out
hi guys
Iam finally in the process of making my own Air Box for my R32 GTR, started it today and hopefully will have some pics up while iam step by step process. Probably covered already dont know...but ive got greddy hard piping with Z32 AFM/s and HKS pod filters. Not sure what to use either stainless steel 1.5mm or use perspex/carbon fibre sheets. If i do go for the stainless steel will prob get it down on AUTOCAD and get it laser cut for more professional look. Going to include the cost of making this kit so if anyone else that is going to do the same gives them better idea.
Here is what i have done so far.
1)Take measurements of the engine bay where pods are and the air flow metres and how they sit etc...took them down on a piece of paper and drew out a rough outline of the shape and sizing.basically going to be two main sides the side and top. the hardest is the side as youve got to contend with AFM and the curves on the body of the car and wires that run across.
2)After this process was done... I drew it up to actual size on a relatively stiff cardboard so it wont easierly wont bend. Obviously you wont get it 100% right with measurements. After cutting the shape out...place the cut out in the position you want it to go..and see if any gaps appear...all i did was cut off piece n used sticky tape to fill in gaps and cut it to the right shape. the hardest was getting the AFM holes right.
Did the same for the top of the Box that was much easier..only lil problem was the bonnet stay gets in the way and a lilttle gap has to be cut so the stay can fold down to its orig sitting position still. This left a gap at the bottom which the pods can b seen still thru small opening(last pic)...that can be covered with another piece.
just at this stage atm...will post when i get further in making the box
thanks guys have decided to go for the Tomei items....the exhaust manifolds and dumps. have thought of doing that the extruded n honed option...but for not much more can go for the tomei ones...with the cracking ...read a thread by SK and how not many people take into consideration of exhaust supports so will look into that placing more supports if possible and not get a crack in the manifold. hopefully will get order in as soon as i do my tax return
