Thanks for the hints, just for street driving at the moment. Like you said, im after a good solid pair of pads that ill be happy with. Eg no squeeling, dust etc etc. Im wondering what ppl out there on the roads are using and what they are happy with. You cant really stop at the lights and say; "hhhhmmmmm lots of noise in those pads, best change them at the next set of lights" Im after people opinions on their current setup (eg brand, dust, noise, bite/stopping ability) thats all EMZ

Hi guys i know this topic is very simular to the one started by Dyken (no disrespect intended dude) but im just posting to know what pads ppl are using. Im keen on getting new rotors, and im pretty sure ive got some lined up.......but what brake pads should i get on my series 1 N/A 4 door. Ive heard the "green pads" are pretty good, but i have seen these on ebay (i know, a reall super safe option for brake pads!!!!) and was wondering if they were any good. MMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, thinking about going turbo (either buying another car or upgrading) but im just really happy with the N/A at the moment. And fuel consumption isnt bad either. Dont know if i want to bther something thats running well. Maybe in years to come, but im really happy with the 4 doors, N/A and general look of my car.......saying that, im looking at lowerering it in the new year and ???????? respray down the track!!!! Oh and i was lokoing at getting a clear box to surround the pod filter (seen then on ebay for bout $100) but wasnt too sure about how good/efect they would be in regarding to heat reducing/better air intake. Also dont know if the cops would deem them legal (if i ever went interstate) Long story short, i did the air filter change for a quick apperence change/easy mod. So far it looks good and i havent had any issues with cops (touch wood). EMZ

Havent ya heard, you aint cool unless your suckin in the hot stuff!!!!! Ive since added the original air intake cover that sits on the front of the engine, hoping to suck some of the cooler stuff in. I havent had any probs (so far) so i think ill leave it as is. EMZ

Hey people, bout that gold engine bay. Ive tried to contact the seller on ebay twice with no luck. Anyone else had a go and got a reply. I asked if the goldness made it the super dooper R33 "G spec" go harder. Could also be the new "gold-dilla" people are ravin' bout!! Nahhhh, jokes aside....no response!!! EMZ

Also ive spoken to superchap auto (via their net sales rep) and they have quoted me: dba 953 $129.99 ea +freight, dba 953sl/ sr $ 179.99ea +freight and dba 953x $236.36 + freight Not bad if your just after relacement rotors, i think they are standard but thats a good price i think! Thanks guys for the replyies. I def dont sit on the brakes at the lights. Although my car is an auto i use the gears (sometimes) and always sit in neutral at the lights or when stationary. mmmmmmmmmm, interesting. My fuel light use to turn on before the needle got stuffed up but prior to taking it to the experts for them to look at it i filled the tank up and i found i was only 2L from being empty!!! the light didnt turn on at all, whats going on people!!! EMZ

Hey ppl quick question and i don't expect this topic to last long but, Long story short but my fuel needle has been moved when i got new gauge colors inserted and now the gauge isnt reading correctly. Hence, i cant be sure about exactully how much fuel i have remaining. So here's the question, when you have the car on acc. and the dash lights up (oil check, etc etc) does the fuel light come on.....cause mine kinda isnt. So if anyone has any info that would be good and any suggestions re; fixing would be awesome. EMZ

Hi all. Have a prob...or two. Under heavy breaking in having a great deal of "shudder" at the front end. The dash, trans and s/wheel all shakes like hell esp when im breaking from 80kms or above. Wondering if this is due to small / inadequate breaks and/or rotor setup?? I know it might sound stupid but if i were to go for bigger rotors and pads do i need to change any of the standard setup at the front end? Also if anyone has upgraded their N/A's rotors and pads what are the costs involved?? Any help would be awesome, i have taken heaps of pics of my current setup as i just changed my front suspension, if they will help please let me know and ill post em' EMZ

Thanks for the replies ppl. Might actually leave it to the new years. There is already another cruise floating around just prior to Christmas and don't want to cram too many in! Also im pretty busy and prob wont be able to attend a cruise that im trying to organise. Also thanks for the input about where to and not to cruise! Bunnings, Kmart or Lecornue's sounds like a good starting point then up to norlunga, via glenelg (not jetty road) sounds like a reasonable route. Might also head through aldinga as well. Dont know if many people remember but i tried to organise a cruise for the leukaemia foundation "cruise for a cause" hope we can get some people this time. Im not going to raise money this time round but i might keep a rough route from that cruise.
