    New Daily - 12K To Spend

    After this mornings accident, im fairly sure the car is a write off..

    I've got 12k to spend on a car that I plan to keep for atleast 5 years..

    What im after..

    -Fuel economy (I travel about 500km a week)

    -Comfort, usual power features + Ipod/ AUX + bluetooth would be nice

    -Reliability & maintenance costs (my VW sucked!)

    -Resale

    -Comfortable for a 6'1 driver and enjoyable to drive

    -prefer manual

    Im looking at

    -03+ corolla's (old man and everyone else swears by them) not sure which ones are best bang for buck

    -mazda 3, big fan of the newer models (03+), unsure on reliability, saw an sp23 (04) at a yard going for 9k (114k odo), on start up with the oil cap off it was blowing a fair bit of oil.

    -yaris, bit small, ugly dash, only slightly better in fuel.

    -getz, 7l/100km, many people's experiences online beg to differ (10+), cheap, don't think I would enjoy it after time.

    -FOG, live in an apartment and share the car spot with my motorbike so the car is a little to big, it would suffer in resale down the track. On the plus side my old man is a cabbie, so part's and knowledge is plentiful, and I know how reliable these are.

    -i30, perfect! out of my budget. :(

    So at this stage I think it may be the rolla, any good cars that I may have missed.

    Selling iPhone 4 in very good condition as I have upgraded. Always had a screen protector applied, never had any problems with it.

    Comes with; Box, manuals, reset pin, charger, usb cable & some cases if I can find them.

    G25 set-up. Originally bought it so that it could aid me to platinum GT5, but now with a new job I have other commitments and it is just collecting dust.

    The seat is a Mazda 3 seat, it reclines and is on rails. Comfortably seats me (187cm 100kg), the frame has a shelf to fit a 25' (?) monitor upfront.

    Connected my PS3 to the internet today (wireless) & in order to play GT5 online I needed to download the latest version 1.05... It seems to download fine, it starts installing & once it gets to 14% it displays 80029564 error. This has happened to me at least 4 times now, I've done some research on this and have come up with a list of possibilities none of which sound concrete. Has anyone had this problem and corrected it?

    Am basically looking to make my own pre workout/thermo stack seen as hydroxy etc are a joke these days since the magical ingredient was banned. Thought id check with the pros before i went into a chemist or health store asking for these products and they look at me as if im trying to cook some gear lol.

    Been looking for Ephedrine for a while as well as Yohimbe, illegal & super hard to get a hold off

    Caffeine is simple.. Most supp stores stock it.. ASN for example.. or you can order of BB.com ... I ordered 4x 100pill (200mg) bottles About $8aus each.. Great stuff to stack against your pre wo supps.. :P

    Salary Packaging Vs Buying Car Out Right

    As title suggests, wanting to hear peoples experiences/ opinions.. On salary packaging (leasing) cars vs buying them outright..

    If I were to package a car it would be an VW golf or an Audi A3 second hand 06-08)... But buying out right it leaves me with either an 04 Golf GTi or an i30 due to maintenance/ out of my pocket reasons ..

    R32 Gtr - 4wd Problem

    When you start the car can you hear the 4wd pump priming? Mine takes heaps longer when its been sitting for a while. I tried to bleed the system but didnt help. I think the pump is on its way out.

    With this said, yes I believe it is the 4wd pump (near abs?) which takes a good 3 seconds longer (going by buzzing sound) to prime then my 2 bosch 044's .. Are you having similar problems with your car? What are your plans

    Did you fit heavier power and earth cables for the relocated battery? Skylines are notoriously sensitive to voltage (or lack of it). You may be draining too much power through a "small" cable during the start process, which requires a large recharge rate to get the battery back to "normal". The ECUs see this high charge rate as an error, and pack a wobbly.

    I'll have to look at the car to confirm but from what I remember the cabling didn't look "unusually big", what sort of cabling is acceptable?

    edit; come to think of it mate, the car usually starts up & gets the 4wd & ABS light.. After I drive it round for a bit (charging it up like you said) & then turn the car back on it'll play ball & function normally.. Does this sound reasonable? How would i go by resolving this problem as im not very brainy when it comes to electronics.. thanks

    The last few months I've been having dramas with the 4wd.. Most of the time's I turn the car on the 4wd/ ABS lights comes on & stays on (rear wheel drive only).. I drive the car around for 30-60 minutes turn it off & back on & the lights disappears & the car functions properly (4wd works).. It does this like a pattern, one whole day it will be in Rear wheel the next it will function properly.

    So far I've only checked fluids & searched for tampered wiring... I've tried searching similiar topics but im yet to find a thread which succesfully diagnoses the above mentioned symptoms..
