  1. hi there, i have been reading through this thread for awhile now, and successfully moded it yesterday after much pain. the way i did it in my 32 was went down to jaycar and bought 6m of 8gauge red and black, a 15A fused relay, yellow eyelet lugs and spades, red and blue spades to fit the relay, i ran the red 8GA wire from the battery positive to the relay positive in, the fused side of the relay, and the positive out from the relay went to the positive of the pump after the stock plug, now in the 32 the positive to the pump is the white/purple stripe wire, and the negative is the blue/red stripe wire, so naturally you will run some 8GA wire from the pump side blue/red stripe wire to a suitable earth point, the same earth point i used for the relay, then the trigger wire for the relay to switch over when i turn the ignition on, i used the stock 12v wire that used to feed the pump. a word of warning, dont leave the blue/red stripe wires connected and dont leave the white/purple stripe wires connected. i hope this makes sense, it did take me 8 hours to complete including changing fuel pump and new fuel hoses. attatched are some pictures that should help describe my instructions one thing that does confuse me about this tutorial is that (taking it from the first post) the use of a 60A relay and a 30 amp fuse but then its all spliced into the last little bit of stock loom, which is much lower current rating than 30A as well as the wires actually feeding the pump in the tank, so that is then acting as the fuse, and your 30A fuses are essentially useless because the wires will burn out well before the fuse does
  2. UPDATE was mucking around with the car on Friday arvo, and found that the pump isnt getting 12v from the ignition switch, so put a battery straight on it in the boot and hear it whirring away, tried starting the car, still no go, noticed while the pump was running the feedlines were still "compressible" as if there is no pressure in them at all, so this would lead me to believe that the fuel filter is clogged, or the lines running from the boot to engine bay. i have a new bosch 044 pump and sock arriving soon, so that will eliminate the pump, although known working, and will use the guide found on the forums to direct feed power to the pump, and ill get the old pump out and sit it in a bucket of fuel next to the engine bay feeding straight in with a fuel pressure gauge to see if that fixes the issue, and determine what pressure i should be seeing in the lines. hopefully this will help to determine the cause of this miserable misfortune.
  3. well as it turns out, the issue hasnt been solved today the car just wouldnt start at all, it was cranking, but wouldnt kick over, so i decided to ring the previous owners and they said they have never had such a problem with it and suggested changing the battery, would the battery have such an influence on the car when the electronics appear to be running alright? Thanks Zurlox
  4. Got the car back from the mechanics today, he found that the ignition switch had some dodgy connections, fixed them up and he said it didnt fail on him since. so ill run it for a while and see how i go :S im hoping its all sorted for good
  5. Interested in the Cat, how much shipped to NSW 2640? and just to make sure, it will fit R32 Thanks mate
  6. Hi all, i have an R32 GTS-T and wanted to know what a reasonable power output mark would be on the stock engine without forged internals, and what sort of mods would help me to achieve that power mark? i want to assume that there will be no budget to work to. i have already fitted an Apexi power intake pod, and i have a 3" cat back kakimoto exhaust arriving this week. Thanks, Zurlox
  7. Thanks for all the suggestions guys, im passing them all onto the mechanic i got looking at the car, and im learning at the same time Much appreciated, will post when its fixed to let you know what it was. Zurlox
  8. I bought a Skyline R32 GTS-T on SUNDAY!! (5 days ago) and i was driving along the highway at 110 doing the limit when the engine shut itself off, no response from the accelerator, like the fuel supply had stopped. i had a similar experience on monday when the car wouldnt start at all, after an hour of waiting it cranked over and i took it round to my mates place and we replaced the fuel pump with one from an R33 GTS-T. any ideas on what the hell could be causing this? Thanks Zurlox
  9. How much for shipping to NSW 2640?
  10. How much for the 3" cat + postage to NSW 2640?
  11. Thanks guys, appreciate it :-)
  12. Can we get a re-host of the R32 GTS-T manual please?? Thanks Z
  13. what would the price be without rego? thanks Z.
  14. thanks for your reply, i will check them both out Zurlox
  15. i am after some silicon pipe reducing from 4.5" to 3", it is extremely hard to come by if not impossible. i can only allow 9" from the AFM to the car body including the Apexi pod. if anyone can help me out or direct me somewhere that could, it would be much appreciated. Zurlox
  16. i gave the AFM a blast with some brake cleaner and it fixed the problem with the stock air box on. then i put the pod on and alot better response from fule, still running a bit rich and idleing low still. stalls when i stop :S aswell. its going in today to get a dyno tune to fix the air to fule ratio. Zurlox
  17. the honeycomb grill in front of the AFM is still in place, ill be getting some cleaner today and see if that has any improvement. and it does stall, offten. thanks for all your help fellers, apreciate it. Zurlox
  18. quite possibly, it could also be a coincidence, but im not quite sure of the possibilities.
  19. i put the stock back in and it still idles like a shopping trolley.
  20. i have tryed resetting the ecu and with no possitive effect. as far as i can see everything i was working with has been reconnected properly. i have still no idea of what it could be that is wrong with it very sadening
  21. i will get some heat shielding for it. and im thinking that it is not the pod at all. i swaped them back with the air box now on it and same deal. crappy idle and non responsive. a dino tune might help me out to figure what is wrong with it. if anyone else might have some idea about it please let me know. thanks Zurlox
  22. i have just fitted my new apexi power pod filter to my 2002 lancer (4G93) and it doesnt seem to have recalibrated the air flow meter properly in the computer and it idles very low, lower than normal, and it doesnt seem to be feeding in the appropriate fule supply and it handles very strangely. could someone please help me out a bit with this issue as it is very frustrating and i dont particualry want to go back to my stock air box. thanks Zurlox
