High 2.06 for one of the Lambo's too
-
Got a message from a mate the 458GT3 did a 2.06.63 in its first shake down day at the Mountain (0.2 faster than the fastest V8 Lap)
next year the unrestricted cars should shake a few of the V8 feathers

A lot of talk that the Clipsal grid will be supported by many of the international cars from the 12hr, make sense to stay an extra week and compete one of the best street circuits (may be a bit biased there)
-
:-) 2nd SLS officially announced today, James Brock will be behind the wheel.
Maranello Motorsport's also announced factory backing from Michelotto running the 458GT3
The have also brought the 2nd LP600 Gallardo in the country from the Macau GT series in China, hopefully it finds a buyer pre Bathurst 12 Hr / Clipsal
Clipsal schedule for GT's released today
1 Hour Race Saturday Night, 30 min race Sunday morning

How to spice up a seasons thats already over..... ad a conspiracy "oh red bull's front wing went missing from monza, but we're not saying Ferrari have it"

I think Massa has one too

not here in Canberra
sorry got late notice that it was on tv
commentators talking up a GT3 Nissan GTR coming next year, I hear they are limiting build numbers to 10 units for the 2012 season, and with Super GT regs for GT300 moving to GT3 regs for 2012 there are a number of teams that have higher priority to get cars, out of the remaining cars can't see the Aust GT being a high profile championship to sell into
Hopefully i'm wrong as will be good to have another new car up there competing.
Will be scouting out as many teams as possible at sandown, and those that don't talk at the track will be well liquored at the vodka o after party

Haha - yeah I keep thinking a 996 and a crack at the Challenge Cup is next on my list of things to do (entry is under $10K for a full season).
With plenty of old cars well under the $100K mark it seems like it should all up be a lot cheaper than running a full Targa season in Modern.
But the running costs for these things are the great unknown.
I need to catch up for a beer with old mate Simon Middleton who is the typical gentleman racer in these types of series for his thoughts.
Haven't been directly involved with any 996 cups to really say on running costs, I know a few of the guys in the Cup Challenge swear by the low running costs of the 997 for that category, just basic service, oils ect and they are good to go

Bit of trivia in the down time-
Q: Who is the second most successful GP engine manufacturer?
(answer may surprise)
not really as Ford was cosworth up until it was sold in 2004ish

Weeksie's Ford GT GT3 was purchased out of Asia, the previous owner ordered it built from new, did 12 laps a Sepang and apparently so scared of it he put it straight on the market!
Looks awesome in white, but will no doubt look very sharp in black once it's ready to roll.
Cheers
Working on getting another new car down here next season so watch this space

Very cool indeed
The GT is my favourite GT1/GT3 spec car and will be awesome to have one running around in the championship. Curious as to why he'd go for one over his Gallardo though, as from what I've seen (which is limited as I concentrate on the GT1 championship) in GT3 guise the Lambo is quicker?
current spec Gallardo is quicker, at the moment he has an early spec one, rear tires are undersized and cook too quickly which isn't good in the 1 hour formats
they had a lot of trouble at PI in the 1 hour races

Ford GT confirmed for 2012
coming to Adelaide for Kevin Weeks, may take part in the 12 hour as well in Feb
i'm curious which one he bought (and how much) I had a pair last year i couldn't off load to anyone (at a heavily discounted price which was cheaper than the ones i have seen listed for sale)

What is it that you do? and do you have any positions available? lol
I work with a number of manufacturers and teams, doing promotional media, concept art, sponsorship proposals, starting a little bit of aero design at the moment ect

Pretty Sure i am going to Copy Adelaide United and Choke at the end of the season, unlike the real F1 its going to hopefully go down to the last round.

one of their cars got bumped 5 spots down the grid because they didnt hear the call to get their cars weighed.
then the general manager of the supercabs pretty much called the GRM team incopetant etc
Garry wears his heart on his sleeve and I can understand how he would have been insulted.
Always been a fan of people that call it how they see it and don't worry about upsetting the world.
for the 2nd year in a row will be supporting a HOLDEN so watch out for the Fair Dinkum Sheds car to come from 27th
