The Skyline was out in the drive, but I heard about the hail coming so I put it into the garage... lucky! My sister's Lancer and mum's Camry were parked outside... both got heaps of dents I found this whopper of a hailstone on the back lawn...

IF you're looking for a nice cheap boost gauge... I just happen to have some for sale See my sig below...
-
I only used a spray can.... just lots of light coats...

Spotted UNR34L last night turning from Burwood Hwy into Cathies Lane around 6:30PM... And around 7:45ish this morning on the Monash, NIZZMO (I think that's it... black 33).
-
Here's mine, just done with brake caliper paint pressure-packs... still gotta do the clear coat (again, caliper paint), and then wait for the warranty on my engine to run out (another few months, don't wanna void it by taking off the rocker covers to put my painted ones on!) so that I can put them on... Yeah the colour isn't for everyone but I like it so meh! Matches the rest of my 'ricer-blue' mods...
-
I'm thinking of getting my b-pillars and mirrors (see above post) done... current thought is just to get a couple of coats of 2pack clear... will make it quite glossy and protect it from the elements... as well as make it easier to clean, etc.
-
Okay, so here's the mirrors, B-pillars and dash that Charles did... and yes, I know, the car is disgusting and needs a wash!
-
Those (the 33 mirrors and dash bits) are mine... They're all in the car now so I'll have to take some pics on the weekend and post them up. Looks absolutely amazing!

I had a full rebuild almost a year back and have had a noise like what you're describing since day one. The workshop who did the rebuild said it was just the gates belt needing to stretch, and that it'd go away after a few thousand kms... 10,000km later and it's still there and just as loud as ever... gonna take it back soon while it's still under warranty and get them to look at it... drives me mad!
-
I always use premium, with regular (91RON) it pings too much. 'Around town' driving, which includes a lot of pointless boosting and acceleration , I'm using around the 13-14L/100km mark... just went on a road trip to Sydney on the weekend, so lots of 110km/h cruising, and averaged about 10.8L/100km.

I've sourced it all now, thanks everyone for the offers. Cheers, Sam.

Hey all, Looking for a stock 33 GTST airbox, the turbo-to-AFM piping, and the stock SMIC piping. Happy to pickup from the SE suburbs (even today!)... Post here, PM me, or send me an SMS 0425 785 126. Cheers, Sam.

Don't happen to have the stock cooler piping and airbox as well do you?

Auto-wing Mirror Retract Unit For R33's
Samon replied to Tommy_J's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
My 33 has always done this... I just leave the switch in the 'extend' setting and it retracts when I take the key out and extends when I put it back in... I can lock them out by putting it into 'neutral' once they're out... I always thought this was just a standard feature! Stock Series 1 R33... maybe I'll have to have a poke around and see if there's any funny business going on behind there... -
Spotted a few skylines around 10ish tonight at Emrem Kebabs in Hallam... I think they were all 33s... including CR33M, one with massive Auto Indulgance stickers all over it, and a four-door. Was good to see all were behaving themselves amongst the other rabble... I think all the skylines had gone by the time the cops showed up though...
-
The Skyline is pretty much always gonna be a project for me, i.e. I'm always finding stuff to do on it (and to spend money on lol)... but the daily ('98 CE Lancer) might get replaced with something along the lines of a Toyota Caldina (2.0L turbo wagon thing... same engine as the Celica GT4)... nothing crazy quick but just a practical car with a little bit of go. Something like this:

Spotted SXYR33 about 6:30ish tonight on High Street Road, Wantirna. Had SAU stickers. We had a little chat at the lights, then went our separate ways.

If you're not on P plates, I wouldn't be too worried. Back on P's, I would get pulled over all the time in my fairly stock 33 GTS (just a stupidly loud cat-back exhaust), but only got EPA'd once for too loud and defected a couple of times for balding tires and my favourite 'not enough padding on the steering wheel'. Got off my P's, converted to a turbo with FMIC, Pod, boost controller, ECU, etc, and never even been pulled over (for that, anyway). Still got the same loud exhaust (although admittedly the turbo did quieten that down a lot, I now just call it 'tastefully loud' ), and the Turbo+Zorst+FMIC+Pod sounds like an electric leaf blower under there, but I don't drive like a moron and don't attract the attention of the boys in blue. I even live in Knox... Poptart territory... and the only time I've been pulled over was by him... I'd forgotten to renew my rego which had expired a week earlier, so approx $500 fine plus approx $500 rego... but my fault, I'll take that. Even he didn't look under the bonnet or anything...

On City Rd, Southbank tonight, spotted what must be the new Ford Falcon GT-R Taxi! The sunlight means it's not as visible in the photo as in real life, but it's certainly a GT-R badge on there
-
My 33 already had a 5-stud conversion, so I didn't have to worry about it, but if you're only driving on the street, N/A brakes will be fine. Really, N/A vs. turbo brakes will only come into play when brake fade starts to kick in... i.e. on a track where you're leaning on them HARD corner after corner, but on the street I doubt this would be a problem. Sure your acceleration is improved, but that doesn't really mean you're going to be driving any FASTER... there's still speed limits, etc, so the stock N/A brakes should be fine.

My R33 Series 1 Indicator To Parker Mod
Samon replied to kwl33's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Agreed... might do something like that when I mod up my front bar... I assume you've done the 'parkers to indicators' mod on the standard parkers then? -
I rocked up to Hallam Kebabs just as a white S2 R33 was leaving. Couldn't see the driver or any SAU stickers, but it had bright blue LED parkers and drove off down the road with only them and the foggies on Other than that, appeared to be driven responsibly and all that (no usual sideways exit onto hallam road...)

That doesn't sound too bad to me... IIRC my RB25DE (before I turboed it) read around 190PSI across the board, but I think my gauge may be reading a little high. The DET version will always have lower compression (to prevent detonation with boost) The most important thing is that the compression is fairly even across the board. If there's one or two cylinders which are much lower than the rest, it's a good indication you've got problems. When I broke the ring lands I had about 190PSI in the good cylinders and about 60 or so in the dead ones... I wouldn't think you've got anything to worry about.

I had a bit more common sense than that... for starters, no airbag, so that's not gonna happen, and I tried with a multimeter first to see what I was dealing with. found one side was 12V and the other WASN'T a direct ground, but also wasn't completely open, so it was obviously a switch of some sort. Even if I was about to short something out, it's all fused, so if I popped a fuse, i'd be able to see which one and that would have helped me identify it anyway. If you had no/very little electronics experience then I would advise against playing around with that sort of thing, but if you're careful and use some common sense it's really nothing major.
