  1. Yes so whats the deal now the 8.3:1 compression ratio is thought to be 8:1??? Nothing wrong with the 8:1 anyway just run more boost and timing and there shouldnt be a problem...
  2. Sounds good Ben any pics of the vented bonnet? Mines an r32 so a little diff, i might have to go aftermarket bonnet but they do seem a bit to chunky for my liking, or else scoop from either a mustang cobra or a holden manaro have crossed my mind and i think would suit the 32 quite well, what do you guys think?
  3. Shifting the engine mounts down will cause problems to the gear box, drive shaft, cv's and basically the whole drive line...
  4. Has anyone who has left there engine mounts as per standard in there rb25/30 conversion been able to close there bonnet using the standard intake plenum?? Mine will click in the first notch but thats it which i think will be usafe to drive over 60k's. I dont want to go for an aftermarket bonnet as i want to keep the car looking as stock as possible, perhaps a small bonnet scoop, got to find one that would appropriate. The other way i was thinking was of chopping the support bars from the underneath of the bonnet where they are fouling on the inlet plenum, is this a bad idea??

  6. Some pics of the conversion and as you can see a custom adaptor plate is used on the standard exhaust manifold to mount the much bigger GT3540 turbo and a Tial 44 external wastegate.

  14. I have heard of GTRS with 230+rwkw doing cranks in on hard launches due to oil all going towards rear of sump, what is the best way to combat this??? With my sump when i modified the oil pickup i put it right towards the back of the sump front buldge and as low as possible for maximium pickup, hope i dont do a crank in.
  15. Yes sky30 thats exactly why i did the conversion, i wouldnt have bothered in an r32 RWD how the hell would you get tracking with 300+ rwkw? Good luck mate its gonna be a lot of work, and will cost a lot more then you expect!

Ok yes Daniel thats what i have done, just bolted the top 4 up, motor is in, what a nitemare with the cv's etc , little bit of an issue with the bonnet clearance tends to hit, so i not sure either bonnet scoop or ill try adjusting it to suit. Tomorrow ill be getting my custom dump pipe installed then ill hook the gt3540 up . Funny thing is it looks just like an rb20 especially with the rb20 cover, i think some ppl are going to get a shock!!! Who else in SA has done this mod to 4wd???
