  2. Ok thanks for all the help guys, i have noticed that she will stall sometimes on down gearing and when i rev her on idle or hunt so ill have a play with the bov, so losening is the best solution?
  3. As long as it doesnt damage my turbo in the long run then good , so if i do tighten the bov this wont happen anymore???
  4. The fluttering noise only happens when i dont push her full throttle, i think it is compressor surge...

It was 285rwkw not 385rwkw , he has blowen 3 gearboxes, it has uprated injectors computer etc, the point im trying to get across is i dont think its just power to weight ratio, torque must play a huge factor!! And i believe after driving my rb25/30 that these motors have a massive amount of torque for there capacity. Well if you dont know my rev limiter is at 5,500 as she leans out after that so i dont even get to use my revs its all torque..
  7. I also blew off an r32GTR which was pretty stock, believe you me with all that extra stuff that straight 6 3L weights a hell of a lot enough to almost bend the engine stand!

Guys last nite after getting my car tunned i went out for a "thrash" now my car only has around 184rwkw running 8psi and it weights at least 1650kg being a gts4 with a 3L rb25/30 in her and all the extra goodies. Now my mate has a falcon BA turbo with 285rwkw running 15psi weighting around 1700kg, how can i pull away from him it doesnt make any sense as he has 100rwkw more the me and only 50kg??? Does torque play a huge factor here but i thought the falcon 4L would be more torquer then the nissan 3L as it has more cubes but it must have something to do with the bore/stroke of the 3L or am i totally off the track??

  12. Yep Shaun did a great job! Ill be taking it back next week to put the Gtr injectors a q45 afm, anyone know what the max rwkw possible from gtr injectors???
  13. Just got my rb25/30 dynoed both stock AFM and injectors were limiting produced 183.9rwkw at 5,500 rpm on 8psi, not bad i thought need to chuck those injectors and bigger airflow meter in then she will be cranking

  15. I just changed from a stock cooler to a front mount and now my aftermarket bov has a fluttering sound is this normal??
  16. Hi Jack good choice GTS4's rock! If you are serious about the car take it for a test drive if you like it etc after that then get an RAA inspection for $150-$200 Trust me it is worth it, can save you from making a big mistake.
  17. Nope im in the process of getting a resistor pack got any spare? My external wastegate is set to 13psi so i think the max ill be making will be 220rwkw if that as my compression is only 8:1, hence ill be able to run higher boost and more timing giving more potential power output once i get an EBC and some bigger injectors!
  18. Ok that sounds like a good idea , considering i probably wont be getting the injectors till thursday then it will be a rush to put them in and do the resistor pack and i probably wont have it finished in time as something will go wrong as usually does when you fiddle with cars!
  19. Yes the supercharger blows threw the intercooler and into the tb/plenum, ofcourse you can run a bov. These superchargers cost $300 from a jap wreckers be sure to pick a good one. Not sure on rebuild cost, you would have to ask around. It would be so easy to setup make your own custom brackets to mount it where the aircon is, lol infact if you in adelaide i would make the setup for you, i love modifications! These superchargers taper off around 6,500rpm but it doesnt really make a difference as you change up a gear anyway. 8.5:1 is also a good compression or are the rb20de's higher compression??? this will determine how much boost you can run but obviously you will want a good computer pfc and injectors etc if you are going to run over 5psi boost. I dont understand what you are saying about the supercharger on idle to prevent off loading boost? The supercharger wont boost on idle well might get close to this would only cause a problem if you where stationary for a long period, personally id setup an alcohol water injection system set to 1.5 psi pressure switch and you would have no drams with pinging or overheating.
  20. Yes it was , trying to score some injectors before friday and a resistor pack, i did take my battery out is that gonna reset any settings we put in the power fc???
  21. Hi there mate i would use a toyota sc14 1.4L supercharger from a 1ggze that is a 2L 6cyclinder anyway. Now it would be easy to set this "roots" type blower up on your rb20, as it uses a serpentine belt and you could run it off the air con pulley and mount it where the air con compressor is. These superchargers run an electronic clutch which can turn the supercharger on and off i would hook this up to my ac switch. Then you would need to run an intercooler or alcohol water injection and your set! Any more info just pm me i have done 3 of these setups on 2L motors before, the response and torque is awesome, on a 2L fiat motor 1/4 throttle in 3rd gear at 40k's no traction in the dry! Also boost can be regulated by pulley size, i wouldnt run over 18psi as the supercharger would start to generate more heat then power.
  22. A very good mate of mine has had his car tunned at Tilbrooks and it goes very well and is reliable, hasnt had a problem at all, but my car is now going to shaun anyway... Just installed FMIC pics below!

LOL i could tell u but id have to kill you! about a third of tilbrooks, i have a d1 intercooler kit, 600x300x76 with 2.5" aluminium piping ill slap it on this week then, ill let you know what time ill be heading down later next week. Not sure ill have a look into the regulators unless anyone has some cheap 550cc injectors or Gtr 440's and a resisitor pack

Cool good to hear! , I took her down on wed to Tilbrook and i wasnt too impressed... firstly they didnt even know my car was booked in at the time they had booked it in and it was just shit customer service, so much for there $75 power run, which they all of a sudden changed to a dyno tune $650-700 on friday which i just lol'd at as they had to get someone else in to do the tune. Pissed me off because they didnt seem to know what they where talking about and i didnt want to leave my car in there hands and pay that much! So i went down to see shawn at BOOSTWORX told him u gave me a hand to tune her so far, he is a great bloke and seems to know what he is talking about. My car is now booked in next friday, which he told me would give me a chance to do some more k's on the motor hence why i chose to get my car tunned there, someone who knows there facts! So if you want to come down next friday if your free, we gonna spin her up on the dyno me and my mate captain thread (helped me build the motor) will be there to see what she can do, Shawn thinks that the standard cooler will cause a bit of a problem, what do you guys think i am only aiming for 220rwkw on 13psi which is what my wastegate is set to at the moment I do have a front mount i can put on before next week its just i was going to wait a while and do them all at once, then i had the following upgrades in mind, Q45 AFM, Q45 TB on front facing plenum, FMIC, 550cc injectors.
