thanks mate...havn't read it all yet but looks the goods....goes with my long list of other oil related links...ta dood. Also UOA equipment...whats the deal and where to get it??
-
look down a few threads.....
-
ok mate...yeah thats no so special really...not compared to the products we have been talking about. Trex...one thing I'm not clear on is the group IV ratings...can u explain that a bit more...I'm pretty much down with everything else...type of PAO I assume.
-
I want a catch can....where can u get a decent one for a decent price??
-
nice1...twin turbo? I always wanted a GTO/3000 GT....they are awsome...
-
dunno this product is a bit lacking on specific info regarding what base stock they use.
-
I always use registered post for stuff say over $100 or stuff that can break...its worth it. BUT...its the seller who will organise it...he could give u a dodgy number...but IMO it is much safer. Another option is to do a COD system through australia post...I used this 3 times now and is by far the best and safest way to send stuff. effectively the buyer can only get the goods on the delivery..and the seller doesn't need to pay anything if you arrange this correctly as us have the option for the seller to pay for shipping...or the buyer...you can request this for any type of delivery through Australia post - does come at a fee but to might save u $1000! I'mlooking for new guages...oil temp, oil pressure and maybe boost...looks for a set (hopefully) so the colors match...I would like whiet faced dials. I would like them to fit into a duel pillar pod (60mm i think) THanks
-
UOA kit...nope mate...sounds liek a lot of effort
-
I suspected it was a PAO base stock...so yeah...I would not recomend its use over the 300V or other ester based products
-
yeah saw them down there...some pretty nice looking drift cars.

hey this happened to one guy in my team last week. some retart just decided to reverse at the lights?? anyway they exchanged details and then he changed his story and said my mate ran into him...which to tell u the truth sounded more legit...anyway lucky for some witnesses and the cops got involved... hehe as it happens I work in a position where its possible to see certain things...turns out he owned some money and hadn't passed on his new address...hehe we made sure the debt collectors knew where to find him! classic...

lol mate...nice one its gotta be better weather than here. Don't be stressed about our aprent "better jobs" I get piad alot...manage like 40 people and it doesn't come for free...its a lot of stress and sometime I wish i could just go work on my cars...on sunny days I envy the field based boys....most of the day I'm stuck in meetings with morons and all I can think about is driving my car home that night
-
did any1 go...I was there in my FTO cos I came from work...there were a few nice Liners about....pretty shit movie but hey the movie and the food was free...
-
nice one...I have done exactly the same but with the Al pipe. Next seal the pod in a box...if u already havn't done so. As for water issues...had this type of setup for ages on all my cars....never had a problem...some have a BNC filter and others the Unifilter... the filtering properties of a Unifilter for example has dust retention properties of 4microns (paper is 30 and cotton gause is 45!) however with a large enough service area it has been proven to get roughly 25% less restriction than paper filters...and about restriction as a std K&N cotton gause type. anyway the conbination of the oil soaked foam and the fact water is much greater size than 4micons means ur pretty safe I reckon...(although I don't know what the actual size of water is but its much greater than air/dust!)

as there are no defined specifications (that I can find) for Motul I can't really see what the difference is between the Turbolight and the 300V series are. It appears the 300V range is promoted as thier "double ester" and assume it has a higher ester content than the Turbolight which may infact be a PAO base stock... Motul are very lacking on their specs...intresting. By no doubt their oils are all good quality. lol I sound like trex01 now...hehehe

0-100 Km/h Times Are Useless, So Stop Asking For Them

lol i just read all of this and its one of the most intresting treads I have seen for a while...this was an assignment when i did specalist maths in 1995...heheh. KJ -
i think you need to factor in his 11 pound boost and his FMIC... in the end...does it really matter?
-
so what "tuning" has been done to the car to get 200rwkw? funny there was no AFR on the graph...considering its like a pretty important piece of info when tuning your car. in fact what do u tune if your not adjusting the AFR or the timing anyway?
-
yeah I read that exact website after I posted it! however for other "full syns" which many are based on mineral base stock do...the HTHS rating should indicate the amount of VII addatives on wider spread oils I guess. after reading al the stuff on the link it was quite intresting....worth a read if you want to understand oil ratings better. Most intresting were some of the comments about the cold start and operating temperature viscosity of of 10w30 Vs a 15w50 for example...
-
hey great information however there wasn't much talk about the VII content of wide spread multi-grades...i.e. as an eariler post by TREX01 stated good to keep the spread as close as possible i.e. 10w30 or 15w40... are there any other opinions on this?

do u achieve this with a better fuel pump?

Fuel Economy, Waste Gates And Boost Controllers

maybe I missed something but gentle acceleration will give u good results...in stop start traffic i.e. the CBD your always gonna be behind. I get well over 500kms out of my line but thats on more highway driving....in comparision on the same trip I will get close to 650km out of my NA FTO (2l) and I do give it a bit generally... I think 400+ in stop start is not too bad really...if anyone has had a trip computer in their car you will see Km/100 figure go through the roof on even slight acceleration as moving ~1.5 tonnes from a standstill requires more energy than just mainating speed/momentum...year 12 physics heheh. -
ya from memory 12psi is about the stock turbo limit...the rest is just wasted in heat. And its not a good idea to run it on its limits..IMO 10psi for a stock turbo if u want it to last a while I guess depending on its current condition. The mods suggested will give u plenty of power anyway...they havn't even spoken about suspension/tyres to help make the car more drivable. quick question : I have seen a lot about injector upgrades...for the ~200rkw car is this really necessary...I assume the std injectors are running well under their limits/duty cycle...although i don't know.
-
i don't disagree with ur order Did I say K&N...? BNC mate we tested a full setup against stock an got 8rwkw gain on the same dyno on the R33 and 4-5rwkw on my FTO and thats only 112kwatw! This is a fully sealed airbox setup with a custom pipe to the TB with the intake taken from the front grille. just putting a pod filter in replace of your std box is a waste of time..and hence your results.
