  1. About a 3 months ago I bought a whole heap of stuff for my baby and one of those things was aparently a NISMO short shifter. (Its got nismo down the side of the stick but the way things are copied these days I really wouldn't be surprised if its not). I won't mention where I bought it from cause i just don't think its right so I am posting this up so everybody can be aware of what they are buying. I only just got the car back on the road about a month ago and have only taken it out about 3 times. Anyways.... I started to hear a funny rattle coming from the bottom of the shifter on saterday night and ever since the shifter has been in when i take the car out I can smell gear oil after a while, so today I thought I better check it out. I found the rattle. The nuts on the little bracket that holds the shifter to the box snapped off its welds and after close inspection show'd that the welds didn't even come close to biting..... not happy. And the oil smell was from the shifter not even sealing properly and alowing the oil to splash out of the box.... not happy.

  9. Sorry I forgot to mention how messy it can be. well if there was no metal in your filter your motor is fine. I know this sounds stupid but you sure it wasn't carbon.
  10. Thanks guys. Thought i might try something a little differant. Its the 56T but because i've got the r32 rear housing its smaller than the one shown it brings the power down to a 400hp turbo. Its the std r32 rear housing modified internally. Made things a hell of alot easier and less chances of leaks cause i'm not running an adapter plate. boost begins at about 3000/3500 and comes on nicely instead of the sudden bang that my original turbo used to do. by about 4000/4500 its running hard. I've found that now it doesn't just feel powerful in first and second, the car just keeps pulling harder and harder. I don't have any dyno figures yet cause I am yet to get my injectors and power fc. So untill then I think I'll keep the boost down hey
  11. If you have just serviced it and only done minor kms since. pull your oil filter off and cut it open with tin snips or bIf you've just ig pipe cutters. Don't use a hacksaw for obvious reasons. cut a slit down the the paper filter and pull it all out and try not to break it too much. Once you get the paper out, unfold it and keep note of which side is the inner side and look at it in daylight not artificial light. If you see any metal shavings at all, i'd be pulling your motor down. This is pretty much the only way to be 100% sure you've got a serious problem. I do this on every car I own and I work for caterpiller so I have to do this to every machine I get and its never failed me. good luck!
  12. I just got a gt2871r on my r32 gtst from horsepower in a box about a month ago and i have similar mods to what you have on your car. I was going to go with the adapter plate but the owner actually talked me out of it. he reccomended the std exhaust wheel with the larger intake wheel because it suited my driving style. Boost doesnt come on that much later, bout 4000 4500 and its on. Just tell morrie (the boss) what you are putting it on and let him work out whats best for you. Very friendly guy and very helpful. I must have called him about 4 times during the install for advice as it was my first ever turbo swap and was a bit nervous.

  14. Hey guys, I've got a few annoying problems with my R32 GTST that I have tried to fix a number of times but just gave up. Every now and then i take my baby out for a spin and try to turn my heater on and the air coming through just doesn't get hot. I've tried to find the control module that makes it go hot and cold but I've got no idea where it is. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does it sux. My rear dimister doesn't work either! The little light that is supposed to come up on the dash when you press the button doesn't work either. Its all connected so I'm guessing there is a break in the line somewhere. And last but not least the rear windscreen sprayer doesn't spray. I tested the motor and its fine. Also does anybody know what fuse is what. The back of the box is all in jap. Only little problems guys I know but I just love for everything in my baby to be in working order. If any one can help with these problems it would be greatly appriciated. Thanx guys
