  1. I can't seem to attach pics to the post. Tried jpeg and gif , same error. If people need pics I'll have to email. Otherwise become a member of performance forums to see the links above.
  2. perhaps another issue you have is with engine response. To make back the engine response you are missing you can do things like wrap the dump pipe in thermal tape, fit a lighter flywheel and redesign the intercooler pipe setup to minimise length and volume.
  3. http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/show...6205#post256205 a link with pics (if your a member of sdu).
  4. Sleeper R33, The flange is T3 and the turbo is off an RB20det. The Rb20 and RB25 share the same T3 flange. So yes it bolts on. The expectation I had was to extend the water line to the turbo since I believe the lengths are different on the RB25 and Rb20's (if the RB25's line is longer then you probably don't need to). The front pipe might not line up perfectly with the standard cat converter since its a 3 inch flange, the standard cat converter is only 2.5 inch (if you have a standard one you want to get rid of it anyway). bottom line is there isn't much to do.
  5. Hi Brett -- tempted are we? Yep was going on my car but, I've got to sell the car off straight away so the mucking about is not worth it I figure. The turbo's like this boosts around 3,000rpm give or take depending on the support systems. Not much involved with fitting it to the R33 by the looks (thats why I got it). I factored in the extension of the water line (since I believe the RB20 and RB25's are different lengths). The original config was for an RB20 so they are pretty similar.
  6. pm me your email address if you are seriously interested in the turbo setup and I'll send pics.
  7. pics of the setup. turbo1 http://board.performanceforums.com/forums/...=&postid=705466 turbo 2 http://board.performanceforums.com/forums/...=&postid=705468 dump pipe http://board.performanceforums.com/forums/...=&postid=705469 front pipe http://board.performanceforums.com/forums/...=&postid=705474
  8. Just a quick post to let the perth people know I'm flogging the 250rwkw turbo setup I got since it looks like the car is going to sell before I get a chance to put it on. the link, http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...9757#post589757
  9. 250+rwkw Rb20/25 turbo Modified Rx7 Series 5 compressor housing machined out. T04 V-Trim Compressor wheel 0.64 AR T3 Turbine modifed machined exhaust housing Steel Rx7 Series 5 turbine wheel fitted. Internal wastegate Water & oil cooled. Custom dump pipe with split pipe for wastegate. Custom front pipe to match $1450ono I can email pics (seems you can't post them with the server at the moment?)
  10. hey I'm no authority! I'd say the R34 would be a tad better in stockish turbo aplications. A front mount intercooler carefully selected would be better, just costs alot more.
  11. After crashing the car into roo's some two months ago the insurer has finally agreed to do the right thing in rebuilding the engine. The motor gets a proper bottom end rebuild with piston/bearings/balance etc. plus the head is fully reco'd and I've got my Tomei 256 exhaust camshaft on the way shortly. So hopefully it's back with full respray and new grunty motor just in time for me to sell it straight away before christmas
  12. the gilmor drive has more friction contact area (wider belt system) and hence more grip on the pulleys.
  13. Some good shots there dAVE. Did you end up a shooters or quest at any stage over the weekend? I was there for the Indy since our company is the major sponsor now for the next 4 years (tough life) Was with the of the Indy girls pretty much for the 4 days, helped run the Lexmark tent for photo's of people with the girls on the Indy car . The official Indy sponsors party on saturday night at seaworld was pretty classic . I'll try to post a few pics up when I get them all together.
  14. Well, going off your terminal speed you aren't making anymore power than my R33 with a stock turbo on 10psi, given your car isn't any lighter than mine. That puts you around the 200rwkw mark on a properly calibrated dyno dynamics dyno in shootout mode. Perhaps you are running too little boost to be within the turbo's efficency range?
  15. No. Sounds like your turbo is too small to get another 100rwkw anyway. It seems by the terminal and quoted power to be something around the size of a stock RB25 turbo.
  16. I have no vibrations at all. I torqued the bolts up in proper 'star shaped' sequence to ensure the perfectly ballanced Ogura flywheel sat flush on the mounting point. Craved, Less acceleration up a hill? Rubbish! : A lightened flywheel equiped car will completely kill a car the same without a light flywheel. More so in the first few gears. Bottom line is that the light flywheel equiped car out accelerates a standard flywheel equiped car up a hill or down a hill, into a headwind or going with the breaze. They are a dead heat off a cliff tho' (if your into that form of racing save your money). The easy to stall part is because of the heavy clutch. I don't have a heavy clutch just a good 9 puck ceramic friction plate. Therefore no one has problems stalling my car.
  17. There is no retuning required. You can't stall it 'easy', I'd say you would need to be a pretty poor learner driver to stall it.
  18. The Ogura 4.8kg unit can be bought online from www.takakaira.co.jp I bought mine from there.
  19. yep install away! The weight of my flywheel is 4.8kg (ogura chrome molly) and it's perfect for street use. There are no downsides. Do not lighten the factory cast flywheel at all, it's not safe.
  20. the phantom, how about starting a new thread for it?

    clutch

the rattle/grind noise is the clutch thrust bearing, replace it when you do the clutch
  22. With the old nitrous kit I could induce wheelspin at 90kmh in 3rd no problem'o.
  23. I think the 16x16 map is more than enough for a street car. Ok, so the PFC has 20x20 thats still less than half the number of load points the E11 plugin from haltech offers 32x32 (not to mention the fact that it has sepparate ambient temp AND barometric load points x32 in addition) . Don't think I've seen a PFC tuned that used each of the 400 load points individually programed yet, I've not seen enough I suppose and those haven't been race cars. Point is 256 adjustments is probably enough given the very small rpm increments availible either wolf or PFC for a road car. On the processor side of things. The bit rate x the processor speed does not give you the 'refresh rate', its more complicated than that.

    clutch

the autoclutch is good, depending on what you want to do the standard pressure plate pressure is plenty. I use the 9 puck ceramic plate with a standard pressure plate.
