  1. Hi Guys,

I have a nice set of Enkei rims, 3 of them have mild to moderate gutter scuff, otherwise in perfect condition.

Does anyone know of any where in Sydney who would do a good job of machining them off?

Also would this affect the balance or strength of the wheel at all? I have been told this is not a problem as long as you don't machine to much off?

    Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. When I put in my claim form I actually wrote on the cover sheet of the fax that I would like for them to push for it to be written off.

Maybe you should talk to your insurance co about it mate.

The assessor is from my insurance company, I lodged a claim with them and have been dealing with them directly, since the beginning.

I stressed my concerns and asked for it to be written off from word go, but I guess at the end of the day their just interested in the numbers.

Car should be ready ina few weeks, my panel beater is still adoment the car will look and feel exactly the same, just have to hope the best I guess!

  3. Yeah, I totally agree. If I looked at a car that had any sign off a hard hit I'd simply walk away, wouldn't even bother trying to bargain.

The insurance assessor has had a look and just need to crunch the numbers, so hopefully it'll be writen off

:) BARSTARD, The assessor has instructed the panelbeater to repair it.

Panel Beater assues me he will take his time do the job properly, and it will be good as new.

Guess I'll have to hope for the best!

  4. The van turned right in front of him, by what he says its clear cut the van was at fault, and the polise should have given him a neg driving ticket .

Insurance or no insurance he is responsible to pay for your damages.

If i was you i would buy another car( it will end up cheaper ) and sell the wreck. Get a valuation for your car from a car valuer, deduct the money that you get from the sale of the wreck then add any expences like tow, valuation fee etc.. Send the guy a letter of demand for the amount you are out of pocket and he what he does .

If you dont hear from him the next step is a summons, you can do that by going to your local court and get the sheriff to serve it. It will cost you a few dollars but that will be added to the total amount .

Usualy when the sheriff goes to their place to serve the summons they pay.

If they dont you go on and get a court order( unless he goes to court to defend it ), when you get the court order if they dont pay you can do several things.

The main one is to get the sheriff to reposses some of their property( enough to recover the dept.

The only problem is if he moves around a lot and he is hard to locate you have to spend more money to find him ( private investigator) but again you ad that to the total amount .

If the person has a job you will get your money one way or another but it may take a long time in this case interest is added to the amount owing .

I have had to do that on a few accassions, minor accidents that i didnt want to claim on my insurance. One time i had the young guys dad call me and he said that they will never pay because they thought the claim was to much. The original claim was about $900 , they had to pay $1500 but it took 18-24 months to get it .

Agree totally, I would try and fight it.

17 years ago when I was on my P's (and driving a Commodore) I had a similar thing happen (only about $1500 damage) and infact the guy refused to speak to me or exchange details at the site of the accident.

I went the the Police and the local court house, and had the sheriff issue a summons in person (very little

cost). The other driver ignored the summons, so I issued a writ and sheriff went round to his house and confescated his PC, TV, and Video recorder.

Amazing how quickly he paid up after this (including court costs)!

Sometimes it pays to be persistent.

  5. Any chassis damage is bad for the car. If the repairer is good, you shouldn't be able to tell it hasn't been in an accident. 9 times out of 10 though, it won't feel the same again.

Just see how it is when you get it back. Hopefully all works out nicely for you :D

    Thanks for the reply,

Yeah that's pretty much I thought. I've taken it to an exceptionaly good Prestige Panel Beater, so I guess I'll just have to hope for the best!

  6. Saw a r34 today near Forestway - didn't look too healthy minus the rear quarter panel, the 2 tow trucks, the s15, some family cars and the fuzzy muff.

    Looked like a d'oh.

Yeah that was me, Silver/Grey R34GT-T 4 Door right?

I was stationary in merging traffic and some silly bitch in a van nailed me straight up the arse at full speed, the whole back window completely smashed through the entire car on impact, and my chassis also damaged. Looks like at least 15K worth!

She hit me so hard the roof of her van buckled.

The S15 had nothing to do with it, that was the old man, who came to give me a lift home.

    FARKN SPEWIN

  7. Hi Guys,

I had a very clean and straight R34GT-T, until some silly bitch ran up the back me at full speed on Sunday.

It was a f**kn hard hit, so hard the van she was driving buckled it's roof.

The rear end of my cars totalled and there's some minor damge to the chassis, (suspensions OK) about 15K damge.

My panel beater (who's very good) tells me it will fine and I'll never know it's been in an accident.

I'm not so sure, I really worry about cars once they've been in a hard it like that, with chassis damge.

I'm wondering should I keep the car, or just sell it once I get it back?

    Thanks
