ok so basically according to GTR STEALTH's post, they are allowed to take your details. They would've taken mine anyway because i didn't have any id (and still dont). Taso84 is this research or what you THINK is right, i think i know which one, and also stop assuming that there isn't something that i'm not telling you. If you're trying to imply that i am a young criminal i'm pretty sure that i wouldn't be posting on here where the police could find me through my ip address etc.

I'd rather not get hassled by the cops, but oh well i guess there just protecting us BEFORE anything happens

do you consider walking down a street as being something stupid?? you don't know what happened so your not to judge that we were doing something stupid. We weren't even talking loud, and if you ask the other 30+ people that got there details taken down if they were doing something stupid, i would know there answer. I saw them questioning some other mates aswell and they werent doing anything stupid. Oh well i'm over it now, but you my friend should not judge if you didn't witness it with your own eyes. I know that normally they wouldn't but in this case they did.

Guys relax I just got annoyed that they came up to us for doing nothing. It's not like I didn't co-operate with them. I'm not going to stop them from doing their job. I was just making sure they are allowed to do that.

ohh ok thats okay then. If they are allowed to I don't mind as much. But i thought that they weren't allowed to get your details and all that for no reason?? But it is still frustrating for them to come up to us when we were just walking.

Today a friend and myself had 3 undercover police officers come up to us and search us for no reason at all. They searched our pockets and took down our details. A couple of my mates got done aswell just down the road. I asked him why they were doing this and he said that crime had been increasing in the area. It was things such as graffiti and car break-ins etc. There were about 3 undercover cars doing laps around my area getting most of the teenagers in the areas details. I am very pissed off at the fact that they came up and got our details for no reason. While they were doing this they could've been busting some other guy who was washing car windscreens on the side of the road (illegally), but no, instead they come up to us when we did nothing. Are they allowed to do random checks like that?? Because if they aren't I'm ready to make a visit to the chief at the station. I am seriously annoyed, why are they coming up to us when there are other crimes being commited that need attending to. Dont police seriously have anything better to do.

I just want to make it clear that i have not been driving on the roads. I am not stupid. I am not going to endanger my and others life just to learn to drive. I said this in the first sentence, so theres no need for people to say stay off the roads etc. I think for now I will be trying to keep my driving smooth, and leave the heroics til later (don't want to break the car either). I'm from the city so I don't want to drive around the block etc. with the fear of getting busted, especially with the police station just down the road. I've read the book, and passed the online test many times. So for now I just want to learn car control. I'm really more interested in learning manual. I had a try in a mate's astra (again just in a carpark), i didn't bunny hop or anything, nor did i stall. In our carpark we have a big concrete support between every 2 spaces so I have just been going around there without hitting anything. And guys I'm here asking for tips on how to drive, not for a lecture about not driving on the roads. I want to learn how to drive properly and not just become another drive who BARELY passed their driving test like half the communters in Australia. Thanks for the tips and keep them coming.

Well I am currently learning how to drive, I'm still 15 so i haven't been driving on public roads. What i wanted to know is what can I do to improve my skills without driving on the roads?? I know there is no substitute for experience but I have to wait til next year to get my l's. Is there anything I can do?? We used 2 have an old ED falcon that i learnt in, but now have a TJ magna (fwd and auto). Also are these cars easy to break things in?? I'm talking when doing things like revving it to 5k in neutral and then dropping it into D??? Would that break the box or something?? I haven't gone past 5thou revs in this car (im scared to break it)...lol But yes any driving tips would be appreciated. Cheers

get a gemini, seriously $250- 300 for the car $400 for a g200 engine $100 for a 5 speed tranny ????? for a t4 turbo + manifold or just get a turbo off one of them old school saabs, bolt straight on i heard. And that my friend is an easy 12 - 13 second car for 2 - 3k

Look on the bright side, time for some big brakes, a bigger turbo, and a crazy paint job, and some new rims if they were stockies But seriously if you can't get it sorted through them just cut your losses start the mod journey.

Sorry to hijack the thread but does lap-timing equipment automatically start and stop at the end of each lap or do you have to click a button each time you go past the start/finish line??

sh!t happens mate, thats all i can say. my old ladys car got the shit scratched out of the bonnet about a week ago. find who did it, and take the law into your own hands. best of luck with the rest. p.s: quit smoking, that gives you more money to spend on your car
