  1. I use Motul chrono series engine oil in my 34 gtr. I'm not from alice so perhaps i shouldnt be talking to you guys then as you stated mainly for the guys in alice This is totally off the subject but just a quick question, is there a blonde chic that works at the civic video there? her dad is the head firey bloke. i think she may have put on a bit of weight last time i saw her lol

  4. G'day people. I'm having a problem with my low beam headlight on my 34 gtr. It started when the headlight would sometimes not turn on but a few flicks of the switch would turn it on. I got a new globe for it but that wasnt the problem. I've checked all the earthing and they are all tight and connected. I'm thinking it might be the silver box under the headlight which powers the xenons. its becoming more hard for the light to turn on now. has anyone had any problems like this and if they have would anyone know where to get a replacement secondhand unit or how much it would be brand new from nissan? cheers people

  6. well, at least we still claim titles to the R31, 32, 33 and R34 models and they have a hard time getting them. Funny how they cant pronounce Honda correctly and its their 'tuner' choice of car. "hahnduh" lol!!
  7. I'll be getting my new car in a few weeks (34 GTR) but I'm gonna take it back down to katherine and get it registered there. Its completely bog stock but you can never be too sure. you'll need to get a green slip then take it to the pits. but in katherine the pits is over at the weighbridge. They'll ask for you to get a rego inspection first then they just check your enginge number and vin. Voila! Darwin do the full shebang. stuff that.
  8. yeah, that annoys me as well. ah well, at least we'll be able to get ALL models, whereas they have only really got the R35 Australia charge a shitload on import tax eh. we get ripped big time. Australia charge so much so as to protect the local industry.
  9. hey i have a silver 32 gtr. GODZLLA on the numberplates. planning on getting the 34 next year too. man, theres heaps of skylines in darwin. theyre like falcons and commodores now lol! stockies and non stockies. mines pretty bog stock for now.
  10. i reckon you should swap your ecu. try that out. for your car to be sitting there for so long there may have been condensation build up. i know because this happened to me. i got water in my ecu. do you have rats? maybe rats chewed your wiring somewhere. no joke

  13. yeah, i'll get a new battery. you mentioned the speedo cable. i seem to have the speedo 'boogie', the needle jumping around under 20 km/h and at high speeds the needle pausing then going again. bugger
  14. good question. i'm guessing its old. i've had the car for around a year and 4 months. i have never changed the battery, though it has been push started once and i have to start my car at least once every third day or the cranking sounds really slow and tired. if it helps, when i took my aircon condenser out i undone the rubber hoses that go to the power steering cooling tube (thin pipe with heat sink fins at front) and in the morning when i woke up there was fluid on the ground. i had to top up the reservoir.
  15. G'day people, I'm having a problem with my hicas. I've tried searching for it in other threads but nothing to really match. Well, my hicas pump sometimes plays up when i take the key from the ignition and have the car running on the turbo timer. a loud pumping/knocking noise comes from the hicas pump and on closer inspection you can see the pump convulse every time it 'pumps'. Also, when the timer is running and the fuel pump primes, it starts to 'pump' and make noises then stops when the fuel pump has finished priming. it does not do this all the time though. I've also noticed that if i have my headlights on and then take the key out of the ignition with the turbo timer on, the problem will occur until i turn the headlights off, but even this sometimes doesnt work and it will keep pumping and make the knocking noise. and lastly, it will also occur when i press my foot on the brake pedal with the turbo timer on. Sounds like an electrical problem but not sure. I hope this helps
  16. I have been to HTT and theyre fine in my books. a friend of mine recently took his supra to REVITUP and he said they were good as well. Horses for courses man. Probably be best if you stay away from TDZ. You'll instantly get branded a hoon if you get spotted by the boys in khaki.

  18. My mate tested the pressure switch and he said it was fine. I think it may be a problem with the a/c amplifier. My mechanic friend was crossing over wires from the fan relay to the a/c relay. I dont know why he did that but must have fried it. The a/c used to work before he did this. He was trying to find out why my thermo fan wouldn't turn on.

  20. the fan is activated by a thermoswitch at the bottom of your radiator. turns on at 90degs. The fan on my 32gtr never turned on. Even when i tried diagnosing it using the manual. i just wired it up so whenever the the ignition is on the fan turns on. living in the NT, i think the car deserves to stay cool.....
  21. Yeah, the air comes out cold. I've checked all fuses. I've also checked the diagnostic system for the a/c amp but it only came up with the sun sensor, only because i did it in the shade. I think it may be a problem with the a/c amp or somewhere in the wiring harness, but too much wiring confuses the hell outta me. I've checked the wiring diagram for the a/c in the repair manual under HA-3. If anyone has that diagram and could roughly point out where there may be a bad connection, they are bloody legendary.
  22. G'day people, I'm having trouble with my aircon. When a/c is turned on via climate control amp, the compressor doesn't turn on. The only way a/c can be turned on is if terminals 5 and 3 from the a/c relay is bridged out. I'm not good with my electrics but i have the following info that may help fing what the problem is. with ignition left off: 0Volts in all terminals 1,2,3,5 terminals 1,2,3 are 0 ohms. 5th terminal has around 12.5 ohms varying with ignition turned to ON: 0 volts in terminals 1 and 3, 11.5 volts in terminal 2, 11.4 in terminal 5 terminals 1,2,5 are o ohms. terminal 3 has .88 ohms. i hope this helps.   23. g'day bruss, a fair few darwin people go onto boostcruising.com you'll meet alot of people there and you can find out when people go out on cruises and stuff. as for me, stuck in katherine waiting for an apprenticeship in darwin....
