  1. Hey guy's, Can anyone with first hand experience please tell me the protocol with regard to driving under the rally permit scheme? I have been told you need written approval from CAMS to drive said car , say to the repairer to prepare for that event. Below is an excerpt from Vicroads: Conditions of Use 1. A Rally Permit is a 12 month Unregistered Vehicle Permit (UVP) which permits the use of a vehicle for the following purposes: during approved rallies conducted by a club affiliated with a national motorsport organisation approved by VicRoads ie associated transport stages of an approved rally travelling to or from an approved rally in testing the vehicle for an approved rally (letter from CAMS permitting test is required) for reasonable travel to and from a place of repair and for reasonable testing to confirm repair 2. That the operator of the vehicle must be the holder of a: current National Rally Licence (or higher level competition licence) or; a current International Rally Licence an alternative competition licence approved by VicRoads. 3. That a log book of a type approved by VicRoads is also maintained and carried in the vehicle when in use (CAMS logbooks are the only approved type). 4. That the permit is not transferable.
  2. It wasn't on slicks
  3. As a fellow 'old guy' John certainly showed us the way. No disrespect to Jeff, but if i could drive like that I'd be happy whatever age.
  4. Hi guys, selling catch can and fittings as shown, removed from R34 GTR 2001. Price $150
  5. Thanks for the info!
  6. Ok thanks for info, so you suggest i remove caliper? How do I release the pads hold on disc i.e tight as.
  7. Hi guys, Thought I'd change pads on my front brakes. Set up is 8 piston unassisted. Outside pads went in fine, however inside pair needed to be helped with a rubber mallet as the pistons would not retract sufficiently. Consequently wheel now does not rotate. Would draining brake fluid and releasing pressure enabling pistons to retract to release pads off disc. Any help appreciated!
  8. As new unmolested Enkei rims 17x8 (4) fitted with Toyo RA1 235/45/17 Z wet track/road tyres. Less than 2000 km since new. 2 tyres scrubbed on outer edge, 2 with little wear. Suit R32 GTR. Sell $1000
  9. Hi guys, Selling 2 Garrett 2860R (707160-7) off R34 N1, (spares) price $1200, sorry no history but seem to be in good shape. (Red goo used to secure heat shielding, will come off) Also selling radiator and air conditioning unit out of R32 GTR ('93), both working fine before they were removed (best offer).
  10. Hi guys, Looking for rear view mirror to suit R34 GTR 2001. Cheers
  11. Hey guys, The event was a good one save for the fact that there was around 3-400 km's each day in transport stages. (all but motorsport div. had to drive between events). Slalom course's were easy (even I didn't make a mistake) and a large variety of hillclimb circuits and short race type circuits ( Raleigh 'international' raceway) as well as Eastern Creek . Weather was kind most of the time and didn't see too many protester's up at Tweed Heads (just one f$#%w@t who gave us the finger from his Toyota landcruiser). SSS at Tweed was interesting but would have been better if we had more than one run. Bogan competitor in Holden ute doing burnouts in front of event director and Rally Aust marshalls did not help our cause. Usual casualties (Evo's) 1 rolled on hillclimb, 1 clipped tree in carpark slalom. All in all, very well run event.

  19. Hey Roy, I am running 4 spot AP's. After the first incident at Sandown I took the car back to the mechanic thinking the pads were scrubbing on the alloy hat when hot, but i was told there was plenty of clearance, even though the aluminium hat is scored. I did a track day at Phillip Is after this without incident then Sandown and the same happens.
  20. Hi all, Can anyone assist with a continuing problem I am encountering with massive judder and squeel seemingly from the front left of my car. After a warm up lap it starts at turn 6 and gets progressively worse whereupon it's useless to persist. I can put up with the squeeling, but the judder is not good. My brake set up is AP Racing with Ferodo Racing pads (2 very shortened track days old). I am about to take it in to be looked at (again) by my mechanic who suggest changing to a new pad compound (hawks). I never had this problem prior to changing the pads ( don't know what the prior pads were) Thanks in advance.
  21. Will drop to $500 to cover fuel
