  1. well the car is going back to the mechanic anyway on tuesday/wednesday he finally got my wastegate spring and now he can finish off my tune and fix the rest of the problems now until then i suppose ill just keep praying heaps and checking oil
  2. thanks guys it probably is nothing hopefully.......... and yeah roy i did check it with a flood light on in my garage a few times even burnt my arm on the floody the miss in my car is intermittent it sort of happens on second startup when car is warm sometimes on first start when car is warm but sometimes not at all??
  3. i just topped it up today with roughly about 2.5lt worth of oil so its gone through that amount in about 4500kms but i have driven it fairly hard??? what do you guys think? the mechanic said he will do a leak down test to show me but he said he is not worried at all he said "dont worry you have forgies and everything" he said he was more worried about the last time i brought it to him..... cause my fuel reg shit itself he put it on the dyno and it was leaning out he backed it off straight away and fixed it but he said hopefully it will be all sweet??? i wish i knew more about this crap mechanics is not my specialty

  5. went to see the mechanic today he reckons it is fine and im streesing for nothing i checked the oil often in the first 5000kms like every second day it seemed fine not much oil consumption as far as i know i had it serviced and ive done about 4500kms i thought there would be no way the oil would be low its only done 4500kms i only checked it because the oil gauge was down to 2kg/cm2 its usually 4kg/cm2 when driving under load so because of the missfire i had that was only at idle i started to look at it more checked plugs to see if everything was connected ok and i took off the breather pipe to my catch can and under bright light i can see the air particles coming out IS THIS NORMALl??? the catch can fills up with sorta like water not exactly oil. mechanic said thats just condensation at startup when cold told me its normal also the filter also on the catch can soaks up with oil and if you touch it you can see its definately oil

  7. the thought makes me feel sick if my engine is gone again im out of the performance car scene as much as i love it i just cant handle the cost and problems

  9. there isnt any discolor/milky colour under the cap either it did always blow black smoke at full boost but that is normal im told isnt it?
  10. there was like no oil on the bottom of the dipstick once i cleaned it and put it back in for a few seconds and pulled it out again and the engine was warm
  11. i have an r32 with a pretty freshly built motor only done 10,000 kms making decent power i just had my gear box changed to the r33 box recently. as i just got the car back it hasnt been running perfect since. i must admit ive been thrashing it lately to try out the new box but anyway it is missfiring at idle and low revs. also has a bit of blow bye??? but engine is new??? i looked into it a bit more to see what was wrong and i had notice lately that my oil gauge in my dash was only reading 2kg/cm its usualy around the 4kg mark or more so i checked oil and there is none???? how much does a car use up?? do you need to drain oil when a new gear box is installed? maybe mechanic forgot to put some back in?? i dont get it car was serviced 5000km ago... if there is no oil could that cause exessive blow bye??? and the missfire?? my car doesnt blow smoke or anything and i cant see any oil leaks apart from one where a hose is just loosely fitted im so bloody worried now that ive caused damage to my engine... please help
  12. yeah went with the 3071r but found out that the spring in my wastegate was only a 12psi spring so it was opening up and not holding boost as well as it should so that is contributing to the lag it will be much the same as the td-o6 brisby.... id like to compare mine and yours one day just to see if we can make any other improvements to the setups i cant yet say what power cause im still wating for a 17psi spring and final tune but we did a small test to see by holding the gate closed and it made 4psi more at the same revs by closing it i think it made like 184kw at just under 5000rpm with the gate closed so we still have 2000rpm from there to play with at full boost im sure i will see 260rwkw quite easy at 19psi the old tune with the old turbo made 260 but we detuned it this turbo does feel just that slightly more responsive but not much and i think im making around the 220 230mark now at 17psi with the 12psi spring still im still unsure bout cams cause for the money to install/tune ect ect ect wont be a major difference as for engine work i flowed the head just a mild port and i chucked on a plenum i think i just gotta get used to the real loud REVS of my car off the line and just get used to people looking at me thinking im another idiot hoon on the street cause the only way to launch an rb20 is to give it all most of us guys would vouch for that. even with a stock turbo it was laggy i just reckon maybe diff gears would change it a little but your right then the revs would be higher at cruising speeds (100km) and i reckon they are already high as is also with a good launch it just wheelspins it would be way worse with diff gears but anyway i was just thinkin out loud when is the next drift/track days ??? the last drift day was awesome

  14. ok i reckon my car would drill any other rb20 with a smaller turbo the rb20 is made to rev and ive even put both dyno's up against eachother with my turbo it only comes on power 500rpm later than a 2530 (small turbo good response) with about 40 kw less anyway i just took it for a drive and launched it at around 4 - 4500 rpm and its actually quicker than i thought it came on boost straight away and took off sideways maybe im trippin id just like that lttle bit more in low revs

  16. ive got a worked rb20 with around 240 260 rwkw mark my boost comes on full at 5000 ive been thinking about changing my diff gears reason being: for the street - on take off at resonably low revs say 3000rpm ive got pretty much no power what do you guys think?? id like to be able to launch at lowers revs and have a bit more power to accelerate quickly i know i would probably wheel spin way easier than even now but would it be too much? could i get a good set of treads and still do the gears just want your veiws? im kinda sick of V8's pulling away from me off the line thinking they just beat me in a drag when i dont launch at 6000 if you know what i mean
