are you still running the stock fuel pump they can cause all sorts of trouble when there on the way out may want to check fuel pressure particulary when its idling funny see if the pressure is jumping all over the place.... either way an ungraded fuel pump is a smart mod to do as well.

the stock ecus on 33's are very tempremental things they dont like being taken outside much past stock without causing some sort of issues sort out your plugs first see what happens may wanna check the ignitor module to make sure it dont have dirty connections and such. failing that if it doesnt feel like a missfire look into ecus and piggybacks to tune it out.. cheap way to check if it is plugs is buy the copper ones as a test set they are about $3 each quick easy way to eliminate any plug issues BCPR7ES gapped to .8 is what i use no probs so far.
-
does it pop and fart around or just fall in a hole then pull itself out if it pops and farts regap the plugs to .8mm see how it goes factory gap is 1mm way to big for anything other than stock, what plugs are you using by the way? if it feels like it falls in a big hole then pulls itself, with the mods you have and the especially if your running more boost with stock ECU i would put money on rich and retard. time for aftermarket mangement or a piggyback like SAFC do a search on thses there are heaps of old post with others having your problem....

hi just received my avcr this afternoon was bought from another SAU member wired it up then went to check it and the screen does not work the little orange lights for the buttons light up but no screen. i have wired up several of these and SAFC's before have the two earths in the correct places all wiring was double and triple checked its all perfect as per the APEXI instructions is there anything that could stuff with it or is it a dud, it does look used because it is but what are the chances that i have been sold a dud any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

one thing you can try is take the wastegate arm off the flapper and wire open the wastegate you should make no boost if it does create boost then the wastegate hole is to small. if so whip the turbo off and port out the wastegate hole either yourself if your feel confident to do so, or get some one to do it for for you. also take off the lever/arm off the flapper with the dump pipe on and operate it by hand see if it catches anywhere. BATMBL dump pipes in my opinion are the bomb but are designed for a stock turbo your hks one although is made to be the same may have a suttle difference in the flapper i dare say it may actually be larger so check what i said above and make sure it doesnt foul on the dump simple fix for that is to get out the die grinder. if you have alook at my old posts ive gone through all this before so you may find some help in there
-
what sort of dump pipe do you have if its an ebay special i can tell you that its most likely fouling on your wastegate flapper and not allowing it to open i had this happen to me either way whip the dump pipe off and see if can see any marks were the flapper may be hitting. as well check the usuals splits in hoses and that they are connected properly and maybe try wacking on the rb20 actuator as the 25 one may just be stuffed. i have also heard of people using a bashed out cat which actually creates more of a a restriction as it causes alot of turbulance in the hollow housing. i had this same problem but in the end it turned out i had a lot of none standard 25 gear in my engine which created alot more gas to try and get rid of thorugh a stock turbo

im after rb25 crank and rods and also Apexi AVCR anyone got these lying around thanks
-
ive got a 25 in my s13 can really speak for the 1js and 2js havent dealt with them much for a pretty a stock motor with a couple of the usual bolt ons my car is a whole lot of fun to drive nice amount of torque and power in a reasinably light car. other thing you may whant to consider is if you wanna keep A/C its very easy to bolt back in instead tryin to fit up toyota gear ive found alot of stuff is interchangable from 32s and 33s which makes life alot easier

Engine/Car:13 rb25 with rb26 crank rods pistons, hi flow and a few other goodies Type of failure:worn main bearings and totally rooted number 6 big end killed the crank and one rod Factors influencing the failure:good old gtr crank snout failure, ending up just turning in the oil pump an not pumping oil State of tune of the engine:tuned safc Suspension and tyres:stockish Oil used and service interval:shell, mobil 1 tried several oils changed every 2000 or so General comments:pulled engine down found the flats on the crank snout starting to round and also on the flats of the oil pump drive hence the poor oil supply especially all the back at number six
