Hey WogsRus , my brother inlaw is a mechanic and showed me a few trade tricks when looking at a car to buy and one happened to be warming up the car and then removing the radiator cap while running ,be carefull it doesnt blow hot coolant everywhere and if the coolant has bubbles or froth coming through into the radiator means you are going to have head gasket probs or other issues involving the head which usually means big dollars ,if your buying a car like that good way to get $1000's of their asking price!

Hi there SAU members my turbo timer doesnt seem to work anymore used to work fine now the hicas light comes on and it sort of flickers when i do try and use it does this mean its F#@$#@ the turbo timer i mean ? should i pull it out and throw it as i never have really used it ? and thanks again everyone my car really kicks now after all the stuffing around trying things to get rid of my missfire WOW

Thanks to all members that advised me and also previous threads ,FINALLY today after putting in my old iridiums set at .9 and new splitfires ,cleaning battery terminals and resetting my ECU this morning,plus all the other things that i changed over the last few months today it finally idled as smooth as my babies bum ,wow unreal it doesnt miss at all and actually boost straight to 11psi at 3200rpm right through to 7000rpm YAhoooo im actually in love with my skyline again!!! THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE

Hey there i was under the impression that you couldnt tune a stock r32 gtst ECU ,now my car has a idle problem and slight miss after changing just about everything at big costs i read a few threads and was told that my stock ECU might have issuse and that i might need to get it remaped ,this is the million dollar question how much and where or who could do this to help my ECU ?

Yeah i was reading your threads as you posted them and was thinking shit im going through that there goes 1k plus ,so you think my ECU might be f$@%# eh , im going to put my old plugs back in might be a waste of time but i can recheck everything as i do it and also look a bit closer at split pipes etc, how did you come to the conclusion that it was your ECU WogsRus ?

I thought $200 plus was high thats what i was told by HAG engineering in YAMBA nsw, boost is 10 -11 psi has a highrise s/s and t3 turbo doesnt have a boost controller so not boosted , plug gap is .7 ,part number 2330 BCPR6ES did the search, as i didnt want to replace my irdiums as they are $20 a pop, did check the connectors and they wernt corroded but a few were broken inside so i silconed them up to sit straight and tight which could be the prob but dont think so as the car used to run perfectly since i bought it , no frayed wires anywhere , battery is a bit shit didnt think that would have any impact on idleing, but car has always started fine and is alarmed sensored, idle has always sat right on 1000rpm without a beat , have no idea about the base timing could you enlighten R31 nismoid?

HEY there SAU members and guests ,need to pick a few brains ,my gtst r32 started to missfire a few months back and its gotten progressively worse and worse didnt happen all the time but one day the car could barely run all of a sudden and was diagnosed by our NISSAN dealer ship that 1 or 2 coilpacks had shit themselves ,SO i bought a set of S/F and new plugs (just the cheap copper ones ) any way put it all in and away it went sounded good etc etc then out of nowhere as the car is idleing it starts to miss again only like 10 mins after the install, but it only misses at idle as far as i can tell,it gets worse when you apply the brake or put it into gear (auto) and wants to stall , have ceaned AFM throttle body etc etc checked lines everything i can think of so need a little advice on what i could check further to diagnose this problem, ALSO dyno tunes can my car be tuned by a dynotuner if it only has a stock ECU can they adjust anything to make it run better ? and what is the usual costs charged by one as i looked into it and was told it was going to cost over $200 just for them to hook it up to see what the car is doing and that didnt include a power run does this sound right or am i being sucked in? Help me out guys as i starting to loose my love for skylines with all these costs and still no fun

Hey there ,any chance of getting a few pics? does it come with full front cut parts i.e pedals ecu tailshaft radiator you know as i need everything for the conversion,any idea what the clutch and gearbox is like ? what sort of k's are on the motor ? plus as far as freight goes i live on the north coasts near coffs what sort of costs are invloved ? as this will impact on purchase price for me ,thankyou DREW
  10. Excellent thats just what i did 3 bucks each in stead of 18 and you can change them every oil change or not and i get the same fuel economy from the cheaper ones two

YEah doubt itll do much i dont have one and my car is an auto so its always got full boost when it goes through the gears still no damage no end play everything excellent was worried about it when i bought mine but after reading a few threads on SAU couldnt find any thing that made me think i should put one on

Yeah have google did the search thats why i wasnt to sure i found that DIS -001 SPLITFIRES will suit all rb engines or models RB26DETT-BNR32,RB20DET-HNR32,RB20DE-HNR32,RB26DETT-BCNR33,RB25DE-ENR33,RB25DET-ECR33,all these in a series one, then the code goes into DIS-004 for the series two models and DIS-008 for neo motors etc i think thats why i thought id ask ,so all standard coilpacks are the same in most of rb engines till you go into series two models thats how i understand it ,and yes didnt want to order the wrong part for that price !
  13. Hi there SAU members thinking about buying SPLITFIRES for my r32 what i need to know is are they the same for every rb modle engine ? in other words can i use the same coilpacks in a r32 as an r33?

Hi SAU yes i had to lol when i read most of the DOSE answers spose you ask you get, #1 would like to know what is the next size up injectors to use from the standard ones on a r32 gtst plus what should i pay for them? #2 is paying $600 for splitfire coil packs about right ? #3 what should i pay for an ECU remap? the reason im asking is that i have splutter probs thought it was dirty plugs or dirty AFM so cleaned those changed fuel filter check fuel pump now im down to two things that a coil is f#$%%#@ or an injector has shit itself ,the splutter can occur at anytime hot or cold but doesnt happen when a mechanic looks at it (f$@##@%$$% ironic) so if im going to change all of these i may as well look at a few more kw's ehh anyway some direction would be great ,my car has compressor chop from no BOV doesnt DOSE LOL

Hey warren you are right it is a hit and miss fix seeing how the closest dyno is over 100klm away worried about breaking down before i even get there tried coil packs spark plugs new fuel filter etc but seems as the prob getting increasingly more noticeable (slowly occurring more often) just removed the AFM to have a look and my god it is full of dirty shit cant believe i didnt see it before so ill clean all this up before i go a head and buy a new pump incase thats why it could be playing up

Thanks R31Nismoid had previously looked at to of those threads shows me i shouldnt go walbro should go bosch but one thing that all these threads are how much you guys are actually paying for one ? i think a 040 bosch should be adequate for my needs so who has bought one and what did it cost you?

Hi there SAU members after tinkering around with the spark plugs etc etc to fix my 32's spluttering prob starting to lean towards that it might be the fuel pump starting to fizzle out so to speak, so i wanted to know if im only producing no more than 250kw what is the best for my money bosch or walbro and how much should i expect to pay for either and where is the best place i could get one ,example ebay, repco,supercheap,autobarn,(taking into account im in the bush and we have a limited spare parts shops! so they usually over price everything,,so i dont want to be taken for a ride)hopefully it'll be money well spent !!!!! opps reeally like to know also what model numbers they are !
  19. yeah i think your right i do need a bit of luck LOL ,my brother in law is a very good mechanic and told me when it first started to happen that it couldnt be the injectors its more than likely a engine managment system problem and after hearing a few of the problems you other guys stated think i'll change the plugs today just to see what happens , would like to get it put on a dyno for a proper tune but there isnt one around here for at least 100k's so thats a bit of a problem but anyway lets see what happens with those plugs!
  20. well so far it sounds like it could just be the plugs ,but if it were wouldnt there be a backfire due to all that unburnt fuel?

Hi there SAU members my 32 has developed an annoying missfire dosent happen all the time just every now and then but what a pain in the arse started again today ,so far ive had the coils checked and they seem fine ,no backfiring at all ,it mainly happens when you back off after driving at about 3000rpm and slow down just to cruise (i know 3000rpm is just cruising but just putting by if you know what i mean)anyway i was told it could be dirty injectors but so i put two lots of injector cleaner through it in the last 2 tanks to no avail,could it be the fuel pump or fuel filter im at a loss atm,send me you thoughts on what it could be please i'll try anything that wont cost anything to much LOL, thanks guys

  23. hi there mine gets 350 around town boosting it heaps, freeway ,or highway up here i easily get 550 out of a tank ,keep in mind that its only an auto if it were manual i reckon it'd be even better
