not a good photo by any means, but... Day 045: December 3, 2010 Every day I have a run from a lawyers office to the registry at the courts and back. They have a ticket system and ever since I started I have wanted MY ticket. Well today I finally got it. I'll admit, i had to take two tickets to get it, but meh, whatever. lol. I'm sticking this one in my folder as some kind of achievement. Yeah I know, this obsession with the number 19 is probably not healthy, but I really dont give a f**k, haha.

lol, what's wrong with the color of the sil? I think it's a refreshing change from the regular red/black etc sils around. It's actually the color that caught my eye

noticed there was no December photo thread. well there is now a few of the things that caught my eye today... oh hai! and yeah, i did crop a portrait shot out of a lanscape shot, my framing on this one sucked, haha. wonder how many would have picked it up? Adelaides dark heart that reflection caught my eye real quick as i rode past. it took me a little while to find the right posi to capture it from, haha. spotted this in north adelaide. makes me miss car photography a bit :'( moooooo been playing with fake black & white with a grainy film look lately. not sure how convincing it is tho spotted this in a building foyer and it had me intrigued for a bit. love light and shadows and silhouettes and stuff, lol. quick shot from out the bus window on the way home. i like this shot, but not sure why

With the "spending heaps" she was more talking about the money spent going to the drifts to take photos that would end up published on local papers that I never got paid for. All money spent on gear was classed as an investment, it's the return wasn't there. As for the candle... lol, I'll grab a razor and have a bath instead

Sorry guys, early morning Emo moment, lol. Got to town and started shooting as per usual, made me realize that it's something that's too much a part of me to just give up. Took a few dark pics and then got busy with work. Started noticing more things to snap and everything just kinda clicked (pardon the pun) lol. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I didn't have a camera close by. I just need to eat more happy meals I think

nah i mean i think im over photography altogether. keep getting reminded by the missus how much money i wasted on it and how little i earned for our family for it so time to hang up the camera and work properly like everyone else.

few more from this month. starting to get less and less inspired to take pics at work. i think im finally growing up, just want to work.

cheers man, tried a different angle today and was running at either 1/8th or 1/15th i think, they will be on my facebook soon(ish). kinda needing a tripod tho, lol. that idea about the one person standing still is awesome! might give something like that a go in future, and i'll be sure to credit you for the idea ooh, ooh... maybe even a homeless man asleep in a park with heaps of people just walking past. damn, you got my mind ticking over on this one, nice one lol.

barra... our kids would have wanted to keep it as a pet, lol. tried using slower shutter speeds today. some worked ok(ish) other need a few refinements. since the poor lumix broke (lens cover stopped opening and closing properly) ive been running the G11 as my regular sidekick point and shooter. i still use it on auto a lot, but have been using shutter/aperture priority a bit. the built in ND filter is awesome for slowing things down a bit further. hoping its fair quiet tomorrow so I can do more experimenting with it, get more of a feel for it. going to give this another try and actually take a bit more care with the composition, lol. i reckon in a few days i wont want to go back to using the Lumix. its kinda sad tho, I did love that little thing, haha.

cheers. its getting harder each day though as ive shot so much of the city that finding new things to focus on is becoming a challenge. and Slim, love that first one also. ive always tried to get the same effect but havent had much luck yet. the top on in my post is the closest ive come, which is still a fair way off, lol.

ok, im fast running out of ideas on stuff to shoot in the city (believe it or not) lol. i seem to have my comfort zone of shooting shapes, repetition etc. but anyone got any ideas on something new I could give a try? i guess people is one thing ive never been real confident at shooting, specially unsolicited shots of unsuspecting people, lol. but yeah, im open to suggestions.

took the gopro to the beach today. was soo good being able to use a camera without stressing about dropping it in the water. the underwater shots were not all that clear (there is a mod to fix this tho) but yeah took a few shots to see how they would look. wish we were there at high tide so i could get some shots inside some barrels, but ah well, lol. keep in mind these cameras dont have a viewfinder of any sort so framing is done purely by gut feeling, lol. oh and Sidd, your work never ceases to amaze me dude! Love it man.

im still waiting on an ipod cable i bought on ebay 3 weeks ago, my gopro was here the next day. i did check out ebay and most were $275 for the same thing before postage. but if you can find a link for a 1080P delivered for around $300 can you post it up please.

Sidd, it was only $275 delivered. I got the 960P version as I couldnt justify the extra $200 for the 1080P when most of the things I make will only ever end up on the web. The still images it takes arent too bad either. The wide angle of view is something cool that i'll be playing with in future. Only drawback is the lack of viewfinder or screen, but as I always have the Lumix handy i just take a few stills and check how it looks on the Lumix and adjust as necessary. For the price tho I reckon its pretty nifty.

haha, nah i meant the stupid bellhop or whatever they are called. the people who park your cars for you, haha. the owner of the car probably would have been more down to earth to be honest. a lot of rich people that I have met are actually a lot cooler than you would expect.

yeah i wonder what they were doing in adelaide? i wasnt even going to bother with pics but it was the end of the day and the guy out the front looked at me as if i was scum so i thought, yep, imma stop and take some pics just to piss you off, haha.

i like the treatment of the second one, but i think it lacks absolute whites if you know what i mean. just from a viewers perspective, it looks a bit 'muddy' otherwise? i do love the composition tho on the topic of composition... this is me at work. it seriously only takes 13 seconds to take a photo (sometimes its all the free time I have). just point and shoot baby, thats how i roll. and the "making of" video... http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1529248824256 i probably should have spent a couple seconds in photoshop straightening it a bit tho, lol. slack!
