  1. Okay... So whats the final answer on these brakes? This thread seems to lean more towards dont get them, as they are a waste. The other G4 thread says nothing but praises about them however. I need to know for sure as I was going to order these a few days ago for my high power GTR33. Get them or pass and pay the extra for a name brand pair? As I said above, this is for a high powered GTR33. -Sayajin
  2. Okay. Well I have been talking with Steve and am getting ready to go ahead and purchase this kit. Just checking to see if there are any updates from current users? Are they still running as strong as you would like? Still recommend them to people for track use? -Sayajin
  3. Wow! Are you sure that 285s will fit? If so thats what im going to run! Of course I mean fit and just rub the inner guard a bit ONLY on full lock. -Sayajin
  4. Hey guys. I am looking to buy a new set of wheels for my GTR33. I HAD decided to go with a pair of 18X10 +18 running 275 rubber. It was my understanding that was the widest tire and rim combination possible to run on the GTR33 without modification. However after speaking to someone else, they said on a GTR32 they are running 18X11 wheels with 305 rubber on them and had to only modify a few bits. So that got me to thinking. Initially I didint want to have to modify anything, but hell if I can run a wheel and tire that wide and not have to cut the wheel well or anything, I would happily modify a bit! So what is the widest possible wheel and tire combination and at what offest that you can run on a GTR33 with minimal modification to the car? I do mean minmal, meaning I dont want to have to go take my car to a body shop or anything like that. But I have no problem trimming bits here and there and things of the sort. Also this is going to be on the street, so I need to be able to turn the wheel and make U-Turns and such. However at my power level, I want the most possible rubber on the ground! Thanks for the help! btw, I looked at the sticky at the top of this section, however as there were VERY few GTR33s and even less running crazy wide tires, the help it provided was minimal. -Sayajin
  5. Humm... Well it looks to me like the damn things perform perfectly. The pad wear appears almost exactly even and the rotors seem to be in good condition as well. Now I just need Just Jap to respond to my inquiry so I can buy the damn things! -Sayajin
  6. Hey guys. I know that the factory speakers are 6.5in with a depth of 57mm. However I am looking at a pair of speakers, the Polk Momo 650, and they have a depth of 61.8mm. I am looking to run a set of these both in the front and the rear of my GTR33. I am wondering if the extra 5mm will fit in there with little issue? Or do I really need to find a different speaker with less depth? Thanks a lot for the help guys! -Sayajin
  7. Well for reference, here are a few shots of what my custom RB30 sump looks like under construction. -Sayajin
  8. Well I just emailed Just Jap an inquiry in order to purchase the Front 365MM kit... So lets see how these babies perform Stateside! -Sayajin
  9. As far as how they work, I know a number of people with the 2860 -5, and they seem to feel they work exactly the same as the HKS 2530s. The only possible difference is that the HKS may spool up a bit faster due to superior design and components internal wise. -Sayajin
  10. Well oiling wont be an issue as I am going with a complete custom oiling system. Thanks for the advice however! -Sayajin
  11. ................... Guys.... I MEAN at the track! I guess its an American verbage thing... road racing is racing on a track doing a road course. We dont call it circuit racing as most American circuit races are done on an oval track. Road racing is done on a road course type track. Street racing is racing not on a track.. I am not talking about that. From Wikipedia: -Sayajin
  12. Hey guys. Recently I have been wanting to get into road racing, however I am a little up in the air about wither I want to do it with my GTR or not! I have already decided to purchase the parts necessary to be able to track my GTR including a set of track wheels, big brake kit, custom oil system, Tein suspension, strut and sway bars, ect. However, it will primarily be a street car seeing a bit of drag as well. Let me say, I dont plan at this point to get too heavy into road racing, I figure I will go every few months or so and just have some fun. I have already set up a few HPDE days so that I can get the hang of what I need to do. However, recently I have been having second thoughts about taking my baby to the track! I am just worried about me smacking up my GTR I just spent a LOAD of money on! But then again, I dont really want to get a track car, I really want to track my GTR! Anyway, what do you guys think? For those who DO road racing, do you track your own street driven Skyline upgraded with the necessary parts to road race? Or do you have a dedicated track car that you use and wouldnt take your baby out? -Sayajin
