Hi Yeah I know about the mines car and the 2530 but every man and his dog has those turbos . The T517s 8cm are the ones for me at the moment and have seen some similar Japanese cars running them with success ( ie Garage Defend r33). More punch out of corners while 2530s are too linear. And lets face it the driver has a lot to do with it. I actually did buy a kit from Sydney kid for 2.5k but have not received it so am getting my money back (2 months overdue) was supposed to coincide with my rebuild but he has let me down and f*#ked up my plans so has forced me to buy some other suspension He is juggling 2 many balls trying to please everyone when the reverse is happening . Engine block changed out for a new 24U block fully prepped along with head .Plus much more to much to write here. Brakes and gearbox upgraded to handle the extra ps. Already have twinplate nismo Cumix. The only thing left is the diffs which I can get done at a later date if necessary will see first how the active rear goes (probably not) and a roll cage. Think I have spent enough money by now so will lay off for a bit. Sure I could buy a good rs porsche like my mate for a little more than what I have spent at the end of the day. But GTRs do it for me and now we can compete heh heh. Thanks for the info on the diffs though . Why a 2way in the front??? (I don’t know much about diffs learning fast)

Just wondering if anyone knows what Sydneykid is up to Is he still alive Owes me 2.5K Probably absconded with everyones cash. Seriously it sounds like he is juggling to many balls. UNHAPPY

Nismo Super Coppemix Twin Or Single?
ike replied to nsta's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Great clutch I love it. Will see how it copes with 550ps in 2.5 weeks Highly recommended Did not change any other bits except crank bush. Same feel as normal clutch. Was designed for the Z-tune I think so it has to be durable and long lasting for the gtr flagship Thats what sold me. -
Mabye you should read my post properly Nismoid. I was asking about the in and outs of the different types of differentials as I am not to au fei with them and want more knowledge on the best types for track racing. Have not asked about turbos for a while as The T517z 8cm are the ones that are going on my engine ( as we speak) Although it would be nice to hear from anyone with these turbos on a tomei stroker. Just seems to me that you have to sling some shite to get a response on this site. But I will definitely check out the Drive train section Nismoid TY

Heh heh lots of views but no comments As I said before this site is starting to get a bit too clicky for me There are some very knowledgeable people on this site But too many dyno pullers (fantasy land) who pour over dyno sheets and rave about boost pressures when its all about flow first . Then you get awkw rwkw jockeys BHP is the one on a real dyno or hub dynos (dynapack) Been a hands on mechanical engineer all my life and drive train losses are minimal. ie less than 15% I am having my car built for response, reliability and endurance for weekend racing but should easily do a low 11 should I want too. Joined a Japanese site and are these people friendly .My language skills are improving. Must be an underarm Australian thing (Go K1W1) .

I did get an email reply from a big shop offering a long eng r33 N1 or R34nur (whats the difference), for around Yen 560000 for either engine plus shipping customs All together still big money I guess. By the time you add on all the rest would'nt see much change out of er 20k. Hope my blocks good ha ha. Have good memories of Japan so the trip should be good Mike
-
Thanks for your experience BeerBaron . Sounds like a good plan Should make the holiday more enjoyable now. Thanks again Mike
-
Thanks Beer Baron I was thinking of wall thicknesses when you bore them out and didn' want any suprises later on. Would changing out block only which isn't a lot of cash also my first thought be better or strip down original block and check it ( I am a spanner monkey) for cracks etc. Doing my sums you could as you say build an engine better then say a tomei motor for less with some solid gear. Need a good machine shop. Some N1 oil pumps are $400 others $900 which is the real deal. Is buying bits in Japan and mailing it back to Oz any cheaper than internet buying if you are prepared to travel around. Sorry for all the questions just gleaning more info for trip. Thanks for your help Mike

Hello Blitz Yeah I have a r33 gtr v and want to put a new motor in with all the bits ie n1 long motor r33 or r34 nur and gearbox . Original mtr 45k old probably could work that one but want a better one (old fool to much $) I have heard you can get ones built . Can arrange my own shipping. Just want to know reputable places to buy an engine with some personally speaking Tomei pistons HKS 2530's HKS V-cam,manifolds, dumps, plenum, etc . Might work out cheaper buying a fully built one?. Do you know if Nismo sell them direct to the public. Tomei sell a few stages (bloody expensive). AG/Y sell gearboxes/engines There are a few others I have found on the net. Sorry I didn't spell out what bits I wanted but hope this clarifies it . Just wanting to here from you guys in Japan in the know and would appreciate your advise. Was going on Saturday for a week but had to cancel it at the last minute. Now I would rather spend more time over there as I used to travel there a lot in my twenties (80s) and hope to go for 3 weeks from around the 6th of September hopefully some car shows Intend to use car on track and have a Sydneykid suspension kit going on shortly. Should be a hoot. Any suggestions would be good. Thanks Mike
