  1. Guys I fear I know the answer but the car has been idling all over the place and power has been down. Tried the old aerostart trick and went over the IC and lines and finally got to the plenum. A squirt of aerostart onto the plenum runners between 3 & 4 upped the revs noticably. 5 & 6 less. I am guessing the plenum is leaking or is there some little line under the plenum that would be picking up the aerostart and incresing the revs. Second if it is the plenum leaking and I need to drop the damned engine out to fix what else should I do while it is out - seals, throttle bodies??? I am already resigned to turbs, dumps and oil cooler but what else. Help - all ideas appreciated.

  5. Guys Seeking some help on where an oil relocator kit and cooler is best mounted on a R33 GTR Series 3. Had a search but can't find a lot of detail. Looking over the car the spots I would normally think of only seem to allow a small cooler due to brake ducts etc. Any advise and what type/brand people have used would be great. Help please!!!   9. Guys - done the search, can't find consistent info for the R33. What pads/experiences have people had on R33 GT-R for both street and club type track driving. Replacing the std rotors with RDA slots and may as well put in new pads from day one. All advice appreciated.
  10. Further to the PM. As per the other guys advice so far. Good workshop check, DMV check, have a good panel guy have a look to. Suggest post on SAU Qld for suggestions around where the car is located. The guys in Sydney were really helpful when I asked the same. Just be very careful to make sure the VIN numbers, RAWS/SEVS numbers, paint colour etc are all legit and proper. If you bring a car over to the west and front for re-licence and they find annomalies - bye bye car. WA is really clamping down on rebirthing etc and they will not give second chances (impound) (refer the PM for background). As for out of licence think about getting the guy to re-licence in Qld so at least when it gets to WA you won't have to get permits to move it about - especially if it may need some work to get over the pits. It is also not a bad check on the car in terms of roadworthiness, details, etc. Good luck

  12. 7075 is one of the Duralumin alloys. Not sure how much nickel plating would protect the wear surface, hard anodizing is a pretty standard approach.

  15. Hey guys Many thanks again. THE DEAL IS DONE - another 33 GTR heads west on a big truck. All came up well at the workshop - compressions all 160-165, nice stock dyno outputs (just over 180 kW atw), Kakimoto 3" exhaust (need to replace the small cat though), even has the speed limiter still in place (how do I get rid of that?). Panel man said all straight and honest. Yehaaa!!! Now for some 2560's, Power FC and Z32 AFM's. (Don't tell the missus though) Cheers

  18. Girls and Guys Can anyone give me a heads up on who would be a good mechanic/shop to do a GTR pre-purchase inspection/check. I'm over in the west (as in waaay over - WA) and flying over to do an inspection on a dud is too rich. All advise greatfully accepted. Cheers WRRR
  19. [ the sticker- Some d*ckhead put one on mine, so any thoughts on getting the stupid thing off? To remove the dreaded sticker grab a heat gun and a decent putty knife, heat the sticker up (gently) and slide off with putty knife. Just removed half a mile of pinstriping and graphics off a fibreglass boat using this method and no ill effects.
  20. Guys and Girls I am in the process of searching for the right R33 GTR and would really like to know if there is any real difference in the driving of v-spec versus std GTR for the R33? All help/opinions gratefully accepted.
