As per the other guys advice so far. Good workshop check, DMV check, have a good panel guy have a look to. Suggest post on SAU Qld for suggestions around where the car is located. The guys in Sydney were really helpful when I asked the same.
Just be very careful to make sure the VIN numbers, RAWS/SEVS numbers, paint colour etc are all legit and proper. If you bring a car over to the west and front for re-licence and they find annomalies - bye bye car. WA is really clamping down on rebirthing etc and they will not give second chances (impound) (refer the PM for background).
As for out of licence think about getting the guy to re-licence in Qld so at least when it gets to WA you won't have to get permits to move it about - especially if it may need some work to get over the pits. It is also not a bad check on the car in terms of roadworthiness, details, etc.
