  1. Apart from the obvious of bringing back some of the kick arse cars they have in JP, i would bring back a good video camera i bought a Panasonic NVGS250 for like $700, i was pricing them over here and they were like $1200 at the time of purchase, looking back i should have got the 500 for jack all more. The other thing would be a good futon and tatami, i miss it- so friggin warm in winter and when you are drunk its less distance to fall when you roll over.
  2. I think everyone on here seems to have/had the same goals or things to do. Just another question its probably been mentioned already in a different post but.... what does everyone do for a job over in JP, obviously English teacher is the most popular but just curious as to what people do and what the wage is like. I will be heading back at the end of the year to stay for a while and would like to do something other than english teaching! Cheers
  3. Yeah i wish you had of bought that r34 aswell. F@ck it, all good in hindsight. Just make sure when you go back you buy one straight up.
  4. I think that those are very amicable things to have wanted to do, the japanese school uniforms are so damn cute and in most cases the girls wearing them. I think the best thing from that would to be to get your misses to dress in a school uniform. Definately wanna do some drifting, done plenty of circuit racing in the past but havent tried drifting yet. Where i will be living is pretty remote and has lots of mountains nearby which could be good.
  5. Hey all, Just at work and have to much time so i started thinking about what i wish i had of done when i was living in JP. I am going back to Japan with my girlfriend (japanese) at the end of the year and we will be living there for about 2-3years so i guess i am also getting ideas on what to do as well. For me the 2 biggest things that i wish i had of done was to 1. Learn some of the language before i went over and 2. Bought a car, it really sucked not having one especially where i was living as it was a little bit remote, I am hanging out to get back into circuit racing. I have been studying a bit to try and get the language to a useable level and have started putting money away for a car so that i can have some fun. 2 weeks before we came back we had a kickass Tokyo trip planned out, but i had to get my appendix taken out so i spent a week in hospital instead (only gaijin in the hospital that year) so i didnt get to do half the sightseeing i wanted to! Interested to hear everyones thoughts Cheers

Hey mate, thanks for those links. Was just checking a few of them out. I have been studying for about a year and wanted to do the test last Dec, but due to circumstances couldnt get to. How did you go with it? I have found that the written and spoken grammer is a hell of a lot different. Again thanks for the links Cheers
  7. Gotta agree with Koda Kumi she rocks, and the picture of her sitting on the bench top drinking milk makes me wana go to the fridge right now and get some. Big fan on the Bz's, Remioromen, Boa and Hirai ken. my list would be 1. BZ's 2. Remioromen 3. Koda Kumi There are a couple of one hit wonder songs at the moment that are really good, but not too sure who the bands are, will have to find out before i come home.
  8. Hey guys, Interesting thread, I am currently living in Japan but will be returning home to Aus pretty soon, so it is good to hear everyones opinion. Like most of you guys and girls I have taught english for the magical company we all know and love , as far as the job goes it is pretty repetitive and you have your sh%t days but hey you get that in every job. However it is really easy and lets you meet up with some pretty cool people and see the country. As far as living in Japan goes, I have to agree that no matter how hard you try you will always be a gaijin and again that is a win/lose situation so you have to take it for what it is. Sometimes it can be great because you can get away with doing things a little different to the Japanese way ie read Rezz's page on gaijin antics and have some good laughs, but on the other hand you are an obvious target for the keisatsu-police and older japanese people and school boys seem to hate the fact that you have a Japanese Girlfriend. I think there is things about both countries that I like and don't like, its just a case of enjoying it while you can and putting yourself in an environment where you can enjoy yourself(aus&jp). Once you get used to the culture and settle into Japan you can really have some good times, I have loved my time in Japan and in the future I be coming back(have a great J-girlfriend) so my plan is to spend 2 years in Aus 2 years in Japan kind of go back and forth(maybe it will work, maybe not) this way you can enjoy both countries. Australia will always be my home, my family and long term mates are there plus its such a unique country. Hang in there Micky you just have to get used to working in a different environment again. Sorry for the long post, had a BIG night its 5.40am and i cant sleep. Cheers
